This time we were there for the Native Plant sale . The sale took place in the outdoor pavilion . The conservatory's greenhouse staff where available to answer questions. All the plants were neonictinoid-free, , making them 100% safe for local pollinators and birds. Plants were 3 for $15 . The proceeds from the plant sale go directly toward supporting the Mt. Prospect Park District's environmental initiatives and educational programming

It's a small, quaint park perfect for walking with a circular path along the park. There's 2 jungle gym parks for kids across the field, as well! My sister and I did countless loops since this park is a bit on the smaller side. The parking situation is great, too - there's plenty of parking available by the conservatory and the park. The little conservatory was closed when we came, but I definitely wanna come back and check it out! The park's trail goes right by it. There's also a church right next to it, so I saw cute old couples and families with kids still in their church clothes walking around and playing at the park. I'd definitely come back here for a picnic at the park, a nice stroll, or to check out the conservatory!

Here is my breakdown of my experience with The Metropolis Ballroom: Planner Extraordinaire - Lauren Lauren is a very friendly and professional Planner. She is very organized and open when getting in contact with her. She gave us the feeling that everything would be taken care of which it was. She helped us go through the steps also helped us organize on how the procession would occur during our special day. Due to some circumstances, she was unable to see the culmination of her work with us but she made sure we were taken care of for the big day. Venue The Metropolis Ballroom venue makes up the whole 2nd floor of the building. They have elevator access to the 2nd floor. There is a bridal suite which as access to the balcony. There is an axillary room across the bridal suite which the cocktail hour is help. There are plenty of room along with comfortable seating areas. The main reception hall has a nice open space with a high ceiling, for to which we had 12 tables and enough room for a dance floor. The balcony is also accessible from the main reception area and allows you to enjoy part of downtown Arlington Heights where a fountain is visible and if you have your wedding at a certain time, you can have an appearance of Santa Claus in in the grassy area across the way. The staff had placed some outdoor activities if we chose to go out (i.e. cornhole). they had some They also had some tables and lighting outside in case they guest would like to step out and enjoy the great weather we had during our wedding. Staff The Metropolis Ballroom has a wonderful staff that made our wedding day very special. Even though Lauren was unable to be at the wedding, we felt we were very taken care of from the whole staff. Kenny was really helpful in coordinating with everyone. He was also the go to person for the head table whenever we needed anything. The wait staff is really extraordinary. I really have to tip my hat off to all of them. Each were very friendly and also attentive. The bartender was friendly and did a great job keeping the party going. Everyone made us feel welcomed. The kitchen did a wonderful job with the food for our wedding. I even had a lot of people comment on how they really enjoyed the food. To me, the preparation and taste was perfect. We had some people who had some dietary issues which they did accommodated for. The kids seem to really enjoy the food that they got, even giving some of the adults at their table jealous. Food You do have different options on how to proceed with how the food come out. We choose to have each person have a plated service compared to a buffet style reception. I am going to bring some highlights of the food we got. Roasted tomato soup chaser - a very well done soup accompanied with a mini grilled cheese. Chicken breast Champagne - recommended as one of the more popular dishes and there is a reason why. The chicken is moist and accompanied with a wonderful sauce which goes with a lot of the sides. Carrot Cake - a very well done carrot cake. The cake itself is moist and the frosting was perfectly balanced. It is one of my favorite carrot cakes I have eaten. All of the other food we got were delicious also, but I am unable to go through them all due to the limit on what I can type. Overall My experience was extraordinary. To me the whole company did a wonderful job in making my wedding reception special. From the planning to the actual event was a great experience. Though I have not attended any other events at the Metropolis Ballroom, I would recommend planning there for special occasions. With the care and details they worked with us during our special day, it was a pleasure working with them.

The on-site parking lot is quite small, but other business lots and street parking is available nearby, especially during events. I tried a sample of their light pilsner and purchased a 12 ounce prickly pear sour. It had a unique flavor to it and wasn't too tart or sour, as I find some to be. I would like to return and try the cranberry sour and German, dry pilsner. Perhaps after "Dry January!" (Hello Mocktails). I did not order any food but I do plan to return and would like to try some of their menu items. I enjoyed sitting at the bar with others and our server was delightful. I have also had their wheat beers which are tasty. Inside the brewery there is a cozy feel and the singing cook in the kitchen was fun to listen to, as he had a nice voice. They offer 4 large modern, farm tables with beautiful thonet style chairs, 4 bistro tables, a cool mid-century modern couch, and lots of smaller, benches for your use. The owner even has 2 additional tables for a buffet set up (should you need them). The layout and furniture available allow you to set up for any type of event. It is helpful that the space is at the end of the mall site and there is plenty of parking for all guests. The Liven Room was very family friendly, ADA accessible and the owner even provided a high chair for our son. The Liven Room was clean and well-stocked with a microwave, a coffee maker, and a small fridge. It was helpful that we could bring in our food and drinks and have them chill before serving to our guests. The bathroom was clean and also well stocked. Per COVID, we felt safe because Michelle cleaned and sanitized the space before we arrived. We also felt comfortable using our own COVID guidelines for our guest's safety while entertaining. Michelle, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable about decor and helped us set up the day of. She was also very responsive with questions and concerns. Thank you, Michelle. We were a bit far from home and our kid was getting restless, so I looked up nearby indoor playgrounds and ended up here. It was $25 since it was a weekend until they closed at 6pm. Our kiddo had a fun time! It's not as gargantuan as some other playgrounds, but they have a baby and toddler area, and it's multi-story so there's a lot of climbing and sliding. They also have an area with a bunch of riding vehicles, and most fun of all was the ball room. I thought a place called ball factory would have more...balls? But the ball room is basically a room with air cannons that let you load and shoot these soft play balls around the room. It's surprisingly pretty fun even for the adults to fire off a few rounds. And as someone who has been to a few of these indoor playgrounds, I'm grateful you don't have to buy their proprietary socks. Like I went to one place that wanted grippy socks - and we had grippy socks, but they weren't theirs! Some places need better insurance policies I guess, so I'm glad the Ball Factory isn't insanely strict. What's also nice is there's a Polish grocery next door, so I grabbed a few items while my wife stayed here. Our only gripe is there could be more seating in the play area for us parents to catch up on our phones, but at least the food area has a lot of space. And kids even get a free ball on the way out! Overall I think we'll come back, but we'll be sure to eat lunch before and dinner after since outside food isn't allowed.
