Low key and fun. Enjoyable on an early evening to play some games and relax with friends.

    The Grove Country Club

My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding at the Grove this past month. Their day was great…read morethanks to all their wonderful vendors they worked with but the unprofessionalism of the new banquet manager at The Grove's was ridiculous. It started by her adding approximately $1000 dollars of additional "charges" that were clearly 'included' in the contract if the banquet manager would have read the contract. The bride had to exchange countless emails/texts proving these additional items were included before the manager would remove them from the bill and would never acknowledge her mistakes. The banquet manager did not write most things down during discussions and this resulted in a lack of confidence that the wedding day would go as planned. It simply added unnecessary stress to the bride, groom and parents to the point as we had to remind her of the same things over and over again and even make 'day of' fixes to things that were incorrect. We lost so much confidence in this woman that we requested the old banquet manager be present the day of the wedding to help assure things would go smoothly. The final straw was when The Grove overcharged for the wedding cake by approximately $500 and blamed it all on the bakery. We reached out directly to the bakery and compared their invoice to the invoice The Grove provided and the difference of $500 was obvious. The problem was that BOTH invoices had the bakery's logo on them. So ONE of those invoices was 'doctored' to make it look like the bakery overcharged The Grove which was proven not true by the bakery! This entire thing appeared very dishonest and misleading. We brought this up to The Grove a couple days after the wedding(as to not affect the wedding day) and the Club Manager at The Grove promised to look into it. It's now been 2+ weeks with several emails and phone calls and NO RESPONSE AT ALL from The Grove!! All we are asking for is an explanation and a reimbursement for the obvious over charge. Anyone having their event at The Grove, please make sure you check your invoice thoroughly and be prepared to micro-manage the banquet manager on a daily basis leading up to your special day!

Absolutely Appalling Experience - Do Better, Grove Country Club…read more I'm writing this review out of sheer frustration after being completely ignored for over two weeks by the management at The Grove Country Club. I hosted a surprise party for my husband's 60th birthday on March 28 -- a milestone moment that should have been joyful and memorable. Instead, it was an absolute disaster from the moment I walked in. I have never in my life been treated with such disregard by a so-called "professional" venue. Let me be perfectly clear: the service was atrocious, the staff was untrained and indifferent, and the experience was utterly humiliating. Your manager, Jake, promised a follow-up "in a couple of days." It's now been over 3 weeks. No call. No email. Nothing. That level of indifference to a paying customer is disgraceful and shows a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. Your bartender disappeared for over an hour -- allegedly hiding under the bar table. Yes, really. No explanation given. The liquor we received wasn't even what I ordered. The food? Inedible. I had requested a Greek menu -- what I got was a lazy, flavorless mess. The chicken and pork were dry and unseasoned, the vegetables were undercooked and tasteless, and the Briam? I've had better versions in college cafeterias. How any of this passed as "catering" is beyond me. To make matters worse, your staff helped themselves to desserts before the guests were even served. Then, at the end of the night, we were told to pour our own drinks from bottles tossed in a bucket. I paid for a full-service bar package, not a frat party. The lack of professionalism was staggering. Lisa, one of your staff members, was sweet and kind and trying to hold things together. But not even she could salvage the wreck this night turned into. I had to micromanage every detail of my own event, something I paid you to do. And what's your idea of an apology? A $100 gift card. A token gesture that does nothing to make up for a night ruined, food wasted, and memories tainted. Do you really think I'd wanna go back there after my experience with the horrible food? All I've asked for is a serious conversation with ownership. I have been more than patient. But i write all my reviews because I continue to be ignored, Put yourself in my position: would you be okay with this? I strongly advise others to think twice before booking anything at The Grove Country Club. My experience was not just disappointing -- it was insulting.

I randomly stumbled upon this new business from Kidslist and we decided to check it out mid-week…read more Dreamland Kids is not very visible from the outside and is easy to miss. They are situated between Abbington Distinctive Banquets and Walmart. A more appealing and eye-catching sign would be helpful. They are open for open play on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM at $14 per child. Dreamland Kids is an ideal indoor play center for young children up to six years old. It is a shoe-free zone but if you forget to bring your socks, they can provide non-slip socks. There are a few small cubbies to place your belongings and a few small tables with chairs for parents to sit and relax. Water and coffee are complimentary. There is no food available for purchase and customers are welcome to bring outside food and beverages. We met up with a friend and her two daughters here on a Wednesday. Our two families' four girls enjoyed the soft-play carousel and the ball pit with a climbing structure and slide in the main room. The general color scheme is very pink and pastel so that was very appealing to our girls. The slide is tubular and partially see-through so we can see our girls coming down the slide without going into the ball pit. There are two giraffe bouncy hoppers, one pink and one yellow, and two sit-to-stand vehicles, one white and one blue. Our girls took turns playing with those as well. Beyond this area, you will find a toddler room with a small slide, train table, and toys such as wooden ice cream. We basically had the whole place to ourselves. All of our girls are under the age of five and we spent approximately two hours there. When we were done playing, the owner let all four girls pick a little prize out of their box. It was a nice touch and it made leaving easier for the little ones.

My hubby and I went to a beautiful wedding at the Royal Melbourne Country Club this Labor Day…read moreweekend. The bride was a previous co-worker of my hubby's, and she had re-scheduled her wedding twice in 2 years because of the Pandemic. It finally happened yesterday without a hitch! The wedding ceremony was at the beautiful outdoor lawn area, with a simple elegant setup under a very big tree. When anything is hosted outdoors, cooperative weather is almost everything. We were fortunate that the rain held off and it was not hot. When the bride was walking down the aisle, it so happened that a pair of cranes flew over the sky the same direction as the bride! I got chills! I am so happy for her! The cocktail hour after the ceremony was on a terrace overlooking the golf course, so, it was pretty nice! The bartender that I encountered was very friendly and accommodating. I just wanted juices with not a lot of ice, he happily mixed 4 differently kinds of fruit juices for me, and it tasted and looked good! The banquet room was very spacious and elegant looking. Food was not bad. The Butternut Squash Soup was nice and creamy. I especially like the Amalfi Salad with balsamic emulsion, that the ingredients were very fresh. The main course might be the weakest out of all the food. I picked the Petite Filet and Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast combo, that the petite filet was very small even to a petite lady, and it was medium well and leaning towards a bit too dry and coarse. The taste was good though. The other choice was Grilled Canadian Salmon that I cannot comment on. Both choices were served with dauphinoise potatoes, grilled Brussels sprouts, and carrots. A couple of the carrots were very hard. The wedding cake was really good, moist and fluffy, with very smooth and creamy frosting! There was also a nice dessert table with an assortment of sweets. The overall serve staff was young and quite efficient, with only a couple of waiters/busboys who would need more experience. Only one young waiter who served me coffee left a great impression of being friendly and attentive. I guess it is hard when there is a big wedding party to serve. All in all, it is a nice place to host a wedding, and as a guest, I did enjoy it!

The location has everything you need. 8 indoor golf simulators, massage chairs, VIN 90 restaurant and bar, and an outdoor patio to chill at after your golf game. What I especially love about this place is that you can go golfing 365 days during the year. Is it too cold outside or is it snow apocalypse? Golf doesn't need to wait if you come here! Is it raining or is it too hot for your liking? Try out the golf simulators! As a beginner golfer, I thoroughly enjoyed using the simulators here to practice and get better. When I finally played a real course, I thought my golf game was a lot better. You can rent simulators by the hour (online booking) and bring your family and friends to join in on the fun. If the entire party doesn't want to golf, they can always watch you golfing while they enjoy very good Asian fusion food and a full on bar. If you ever been to a golf simulator business before , I bet you've never experienced a simulator like they have here. The ground has three options based on where you hit your ball (green, rough, sand) and it rotates automatically based on your game. I don't think I've seen this type of simulator anywhere else. The owners, Won and Jason, are superb people and are always willing to help out if you have any questions. Thank you WJ golf for providing a service like this for someone like me, who wants to improve their golf game, but doesn't want to embarrass herself in a real course. Thank you for making golf accessible to many people during any season. Can't wait to come back!

Whether you are a beginner or advanced, everyone can have a fun time learning or just first time swinging. This is much more accessible than going to an actual golf course and eliminates all the pressures to keep the game moving. Each bay has a comfy couch for people to rest in between swings and enjoy food (sushi, sandwiches, burgers) and drinks they can order at the full bar and restaurant at the venue. If you don't have golf club, there are golf clubs you can run for a small fee. There are seven bays and one private room to accommodate yourself or your group. I highly recommend this place for a future birthday event or hang out with friends! Ps they also have golf instructors available for lessons!

Working with Jessica Trzop leading up to the event was easy and efficient; she had excellent customer service and ensured that everything we needed was accounted for. Upon arrival, I was surprised to not have known that someone else would be caring for us on the day of the event. I'm wondering if this shift caused things to be lost in communication, as we didn't have things such as the P.A. System and microphone set up, A-frame stands for our welcome sign, or a welcome table. We pivoted and worked through it. Our bartender was so grumpy and passive aggressive. But there was nothing to do about that in the moment either so we tried to kill her with kindness and shake it off. Overall, it ended up being a beautiful shower, the food was excellent, and we were able to persevere through the few hiccups we had.
