While this hotel has the signs of a once glorious hotel, it appeared to have been a bit neglected. There were many things that were in disrepair from a broken railing in the elevator, wobbly lamps in the room, bubbled table tops in the room, and bedding that was either frayed or was threadbare. Additionally, the dining room was once probably a smoker friendly area, but it still has the lingering smell of smoke and an aging carpet.
Further, the people working here seemed a bit downtrodden and less friendly than the other hotels I have stayed in Ireland.
I think this place would be better rated as a 3 star hotel in its current state, but with a bit more love and care, I can see this hotel being restored back to its original glory. read more
