This is a pretty decent hotel with a nice view of the River Boyne, is within walking distance from…read morethe town centre and has nice rooms. The buffet breakfast was very nice with a good variety: the full Irish, both plain and fruit yoghurts, cereals, muesli, fresh fruit and fruit salads and some amazing scrambled eggs! You also order a few things like porridge, boiled/ poached eggs, eggs Benedict, pancakes etc. I do wish they had a low fat or skim milk option available. The rooms are pretty nice! I stayed on the 4th floor which is pretty massive with a super king size bed. There's also an empty mini fridge to put your own foods, a kettle and a supply of tea and instant coffee, a fan and a small hairdryer. I also stayed in a twin room on the first floor which is much smaller but still good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the decor is crisp and clean, and there's free wifi! Bad points: The cleaning staff don't really clean the room very well. They forgot to replace used cups and spoons a few times as well as the soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Also, there's only one desk chair in the rooms, even the twin rooms so me and my friend both couldn't use the desk at the same time. Overall: Great location, clean, friendly staff, reasonable rates for a 4 star, amazing breakfast and comfortable beds!

We were on the 6th floor on one of the hottest, more than usual, days of the year. The room was spacious and bed size was great but the bed is one mattress on a board and was not the most comfortable but adequate. The room had modern furniture which didn't appear very clean but the bathroom and rest of the room was clean except the carpet floor. It had been vacuumed well but didn't look clean. The room was VERY hot, no air conditioner. There was a nice fan and the window barely opened to allow cooler outside air in. No outlet near the window to plug the fan in to draw cool are in so it had to be plugged in across the room. The worse problem was NO WiFi. Checked in about 4:00pm. no WiFi. Called the front desk and they said they would reboot the service and retry in 20 minutes. Went to dinner, came back still no WiFi. Called the desk about five times but they wouldn't answer the phone or return the phone call. About 6:00 I went down to the desk. She apologized and said she'd send someone up. I called back down after no one came to the room. About 9:00pm an IT guy came and said we were right, there was no internet connection and he'd go reboot the system. Bedtime and still no WiFi. The next morning and still no WiFi. Called the desk, asked for a manager and was told he doesn't come in until 9:00am but he'd relay the message. NOT ONCE DURING THE WHOLE TIME DID ANYONE CALL OR COME TO THE ROOM TO MAKE SURE WIFI WAS UP AND RUNNING. Poorest service I've had in Ireland. I'd never stay here again.

The rooms were very nice and warm, I was lucky in that I got one of the bigger rooms but some of my friends had gotten small rooms. The beds were comfy, and room came equipped with a kettle, tea/coffee, shower gel, soup, shower caps, hairdryer and an ironing board. The only thing that I really bugged me about most hotels in Ireland is the lack of a mini fridge, which is the one thing that I really look for in hotels, and a hotel without one is just disappointing. The breakfast was not great compared to the other hotels I've stayed in in that they hardly have anything. On the self serve table, there's only fruit, bread, cereal and fruit yoghurt. You could order a hot breakfast for an extra charge though, so the very poor selection= one star deduction. There is no gym or fitness center and no elevator/ wheelchair access, so this place just gets a 3 star rating for the nice warm rooms, free but unstable Wifi and friendly staff. Otherwise they would have gotten 2 stars for facilities and food alone. Overall: A basic hotel that is cheap and sufficient for a short stay (not as long as I did!) Rooms: 3/5 Breakfast: 1/5 Staff: 4/5 Wifi: Free

It's okay. Nothing amazing. Don't expect a resort but it's okay. Drogheda has amazing history and we liked the town. Don't play in the casino -- rigged -- it's next door. The lady at the desk charged us 175 euro when Expedia quoted us 135 euro. She promptly changed it when we asked. Be sure to check your bill. Room are small. Tea pot and iron in room. No hair dryer - would help. Staff was pleasant. Excellent location. Our room had a double and a single bed - ok for one night with kids. Stops food at 9! Breakfast not included just FYI. Also no elevator but it's not that bad of a walk up the stairs. Overall, is say it's ok.

There are about 14 rooms, all with a double bed and en suite, dresser, closet and en suite bathroom making it pretty luxurious. There is also free wifi in each room as well as a TV. The rooms are like hotel standard, similar to a 3 star hotel if I were to guess. You get a kettle and cups, saucers and plates in your room for tea any time as well. The owner is really friendly and hospitable, and allows you to use the kitchen or dining area. They only provide breakfast and are pretty accommodating to preferences, but some of the stuff they serve is toast, brown bread, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, milk etc. Also hot foods like scrambled eggs, tomatoes and bacon if you request it. The shower is pretty good, just a little on the weak side but always hot. The B&B is really near a good few restaurants and cafes, and theres also a late night pharmacy, Tecso and a few other shops all within walking distance. My one star deduction is for the heating; It's kind of cold despite there being radiators in all the rooms.

It's clean and made up pristinely every day, they obviously vacuum and air out the rooms for you too which is fantastic. The showers are really very decent for a B&B, and while it couldn't approach my own place I definitely had enough water pressure and the water itself was hot enough that I didn't feel I had to rush through shivering and jump right into bed to re-warm after like other places I've stayed at! It's about 5 minutes' walk from the hospital and 10 minutes' from the centre of town which is really convenient - little takeaways down the street within a 5 minutes' walk are great too. Breakfast is excellent, my ONLY complaint is that the coffee is obviously instant coffee and I'm a bit of a snob there so take that with a grain of salt! The scrambled eggs are particularly good, I suspect he puts cheese in the middle... And he's wonderful for putting out fruit etc for you to take along. Nothing to complain about by a long shot. All in all it's an experience that leaves you in a good mood in the mornings and he has a few very loyal customers who return time and time again which means a great deal, I think! I'd definitely recommend staying here to family and friends.
