I never knew this place existed until my mother suggested it as a place for my father's birthday lunch. It's tucked away down a side street in Drogheda and you wouldn't know it's there unless you were told. We were unfortunate enough to be there on Confirmation Day so it was quite full. That said, the service was impeccable. The waiting staff always checked on us quietly as they passed, ensuring that our glasses were always full and that plates were cleared when they were empty. The price was also very decent. Less than €200 for four with bottles of wine.
The missing star is due to the food. The starters and desserts were tasty but I fear the mains were a bit boring. Whether it was due to where the restaurant is located, or just because of the day that was in it, they just weren't what I would have expected. I do look forward to returning though. read more
