I came in not expecting much because of all the damage and boxed hair dye I've put in it over the years, yeah I know- don't judge me! I had so much copper color, reds, toners lord knows what else was it in. Mary was very welcoming and so confident. She looked at my hair and told me I would love it and I wouldn't go put box hair dye on it. She refreshed my highlights and brought it back to life! Again, I didn't even expect her to be able to do it seeing i don't know her just based off word of mouth. I always go to the restaurants around hers so I was so lucky to have hit the right place! I found my new hair place for sure! Thank you Mary!

I came in to get a color refresher today. I found Jessica on Groupon and was able to get an appointment within 2 weeks of purchasing which is great. Jessica actually called me for a phone consultation and to schedule my appointment after I texted her. She seemed really welcoming and professional. She texted me because she was running alittle late the day of the appointment but she still showed up on time. We talked a little about what I wanted and then she mixed the product. She was right on target when I finished. I'm so so happy with my hair. She knew what she was doing and mixed different volumes to get to the right color all over. I did pay a little extra because I wanted more foils. Book with her with confidence. I will definitely be back :)

*** Sanitation Alert*** DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY !!! Does not sanitize there implements in the autoclave for hygiene. Just pulls used ones out of a drawer. ** Disappointed that I have to give them a negative review, but I'm hoping I can spare you at least some time. I've been looking for another place to get my nails done when in a pinch and this place based on reviews and location seemed to be a great fit. I walked in an let them know I had an appointment, I was told to pick my color and then go to my chair. Their selection is great and could of spent 20 minutes looking at all of them. I also inquired about a wax and was told to ask the older gal with glasses for the price. She was on the phone just like when I had walked in, gave me a dirty look and pointed and said my manicurist is waiting. I told her I wanted to ask about a wax and she impatiently said after pedicure and looked again at the chair I was supposed to be. Nancy did my pedicure and was very sweet , did a thorough job and a nice massage. So while getting my pedi, the older meaner gal with glasses comes over to do my manicure, still talking on the phone rather loudly. She starts the mani and I let her know I have a shoulder injury so I can't reach my arm over, and again another dirty look nastier then the one before. She started to grab the implements and I realized she wasn't going to open a clean pack, bit took them out of the plastic rolling cart. I asked if they were clean, and with another dirty look was told yes they are clean. 10 minutes in I said my cuticles are pretty rough was there any thing she could do. And she came back with they weren't that bad. When she was done , my nails had more hang nails then before , and my cuticles looked the same. Her massage was less then a minute on my hands and just a tiny drop of lotion to barely feel nice. She then put alcohol on my nail beds and you could instantly see how bad she scraped my cuticles and the dried bits she left. I asked to take a look, and in a raised voice said she knew what she was doing and I said they didn't look very good. She went back into the plastic drawer and pulled out what I felt was a dirty nipper and cuticle pusher you could hear the sound of the many tools as should dig into the container. She then proceeded to dig into my cuticles and told her that hurt and once again yelled she knew what she was doing. Doesn't even look like I got a manicure. When it was time to pay was told there was a $ service fee and I couldn't add a tip with a credit card. As a first time customer, how am I supposed to know to bring cash? I got yelled at again for not knowing this when I said I was a first time customer and wasn't going to pay the service fee and they should post that in yelp. I left and went to get cash so the nice lady who gave me my pedi would get a tip. To sum it up: Rude owner. DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY !!! Does not sanitize there implements in the autoclave for hygiene. Just pulls used ones out of a drawer. Nice selection of polish Nancy is awesome.

WOW I love this place! I had a service with one of the staff named Jessica and she was totally awesome. She understood how I wanted my hair cut and was totally chill to talk to, recommending products to help my hair be healthy. The work environment is also really friendly, no tension or competition that you'd see in other salons, everybody here is positive. It was very affordable, paid $160 which included Keratin Treatment, Bleach/Toning, and Haircut. I really like my hair.

I can't say enough about Mary! I started coming to her a few years ago after someone else ruined my hair. She welcomed me with open arms and I never looked back. Yang is the best nail technician In the valley. She takes her time and is that technician to double check her work and make sure everything is perfect. She is the ultimate perfectionist. I have known her for six years and I will never go to anyone else. She put organic gel on my nails and my nails are the strongest they have ever been, I am so happy with her work. I recently discovered Head to Toe in downtown Granada Hills through a Groupon deal, and I am so glad I did! The Location & Parking: The salon is conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Granada Hills. If you're driving, there is a small dedicated parking area, but even if that's full, I found that there is plenty of easy street parking nearby. It's very accessible and stress-free to get to. The Experience: The owner handled my appointment and was incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The Results: I went in for a haircut and highlights, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The highlights are blended perfectly and the cut is exactly what I asked for. The attention to detail was impressive, especially considering I used a Groupon--sometimes you worry the quality might dip with a discount, but that definitely wasn't the case here. Overall: I highly recommend this salon to anyone in the area looking for a professional, friendly, and high-quality hair service. I will definitely be coming back here for my next cut! read more

SALON UNDER NEW OWNER AS OF 4/19-PRESENT Mary has been doing my hair for years! I don't trust anyone else. I'm so glad she opened up this salon under her management and has been persevering through Covid- following cleanliness and safety protocols. Her salon is spotless and beautiful. She just recently hired a new nail lady- Yang- who is VERY skilled. She has fun designs in mind but will also work from photos. I got some Valentines nails done today. She does BIO GEL nails which is great because they last so long and keep your nails healthy and strong. I did mani and pedi. They have the massage chairs! I also got a hair trim from Mary- same day. I feel very pampered! She never disappoints. Finally, I went shopping from her amazing assortment of hair products. The new owner of the business, Mary, does a phenomenal job with hair. I have been coming to her for hair cuts and highlights for a while now and I have never been unsatisfied with her work. She is respectful while she also suggests styles and cuts that would compliment your face as an individual. She has cut my hair long and short. The salon does nails and hair but the new owner puts the focus more on hair. read more

The best thing about this place is the massage chairs for pedicures. Sitting in those chairs bumped this otherwise 2 star place to a solid 3 stars. You are able to control the message chairs focusing on different parts of your back at different speeds. Pretty neat and relaxing. I did come about 10 mins before close, so I must give kudos to the staff who allowed me and my friend in do close to closing time. I wanted a mani and pedi but they only heard pedi seeing as I had to remind them after my pedi was done. The actual quality of the work did seem rush, granted we did come really close to closing time but I paid the same price as anyone else so of course I expect fine work. My cuticles were still messy. Besides the quality they seemed really nice just a huge language barrier that made it hard for us to express our individual needs. I would suggest going well before closing time! read more

Amazing service. Under new management, this place offers a great cut and wash service for a very fair price! I would recommend both Mary and Jessica. It never feels like a "haircut" but more like I'm visiting friends! They both go above and beyond to ensure the style you're looking for is what you get. Overall atmosphere of the Salon is contemporary, clean, and has great parking access too. Strongly recommended! read more

I've been going to the owner since I moved here over 20 years. Mary is so sweet and listens, to me that's so important. My Mom comes here from Vegas just to see Mary and have her hair done. I really like this place. Lisa is very friendly and does a great job with acrylic nails. She listens to what you like and remembers! They have a good color selection for gels and the prices are *very* reasonable. They take walk-ins, but there is less wait if you make an appointment as they seem to always be busy. The pedicure chairs are great and massage well! I haven't gotten my hair cut there yet, but I've seen the work and I look forward to getting my hair done soon. The shop is clean and has a good atmosphere. Parking out front can be hard to get but there is always parking down Encino which runs along side the shopping center off of Chatsworth. Also some parking in the back down the alley in the rear if you can't find anywhere to park on Chatsworth. read more

Before my appointment, I messaged the salon owner and explained that I'm very nervous about getting haircuts because I've had a bad experience in the past. She reassured me that I would be in good hands with Cassandra. I also personally explained my concerns to Cassandra when I arrived. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was the worst haircut I've ever had. When I left, my hair was noticeably uneven all around. I was extremely upset because I had specifically communicated how anxious I was about my hair and trusted the salon to take care of me. During the appointment, Cassandra also suggested using a hot tool to place curls at the bottom of my hair so they would hold. I did not ask for this additional service, yet I was charged over $120 for the haircut and blow-dry. After I contacted the salon owner to explain that my haircut was completely uneven, I was offered the option of returning that same day so Cassandra could fix it. After having an experience like this, I was not comfortable going back to the same stylist or salon to have the haircut corrected. I declined and asked about receiving a refund. What disappointed me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I was only offered a refund for the haircut and not the blow-dry service. As a stay-at-home mom with two little ones, I don't have an income of my own and rarely get the opportunity to take time away for myself. Spending over $120 on a haircut and blow-dry was already a significant expense for me. I then had to arrange childcare, spend additional money, and find another hairstylist to correct the haircut. This wasn't simply a haircut I didn't personally like. My hair was left visibly uneven, and I had to spend even more time and money having another professional fix it. I'm extremely disappointed not only with the haircut itself, but with how the salon owner handled my concerns afterward. I expected empathy and accountability, especially after I had made my anxiety about haircuts clear before my appointment. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Granada Hair and Makeup to anyone looking for a haircut.

That's poor service and a clear double standard.

I liked coming here but the manicurist needs to check her temper. She loses it too fast. So rude and obnoxious. And stop calling people honey, not everyone appreciates the fake sweetness. And pay attention to how you're doing the customers nails. You cut the cuticles around my thumb too short and now it's swelling up. Never again. Customer beware. read more

I searched for an open, safe environment once I was vaccinated and found myself back at Shear Beauty. I was amazed at the extreme measures they have taken to assure the safety of their patrons. I was equally pleased that Nora was still working as a hairdresser as well as Cassandra Skin Care still operating inside. Appointments are made by telephone and masked patrons may not enter until their specific appointment time. While I'm not familiar with all the working cosmetologists I did see that there was another patron very pleased with her manicure In progress. Nora was able to give me an excellent cut working with what was initially a disaster and with separate appointment, Cassandra (Cassandra Skin Care) did a fabulous job on these old squirrelly brows! I look forward to a full facial in the coming weeks. I Highly recommend both!

Been to Shear Beauty before, but just recently got my hair colored here for the first time. I have…read morea usual place that I go to I would have to admit, but I do try new places once in a while. I wanted something red and brown but nothing too crazy. I wanted my hair too look like one color in low lighting, but some different out or with more lighting. I wasn't sure if I wanted red highlights with brown or vise versa. I already had some color and highlights on my hair so it was suggested that would still be able to get the look by mixing the two colors I wanted. She was right and it came out great! :) I love how I can see the pop of colors when I'm out during the day. :) I almost forgot to mention who I met with. Hair stylist Madonna - great customer service and very helpful with my color suggestions. The rest of the staff were also very nice and inviting. The salon has made some upgrades from the last time I was there and it's looking really nice! More upgrades to come and I'm really looking forward to it. I recommend this salon. It's nice, the price is right, and plenty of parking spaces. :)
