Nice showroom and seemingly nice guys. But that is where things stop. I was a contractor in Arizona…read morefor 24 years. Deposits were required, but usually around 30%. I was a little surprised that they require payment in full before the order is placed. Now I know why. They do not have their own install crews. They sub everything out and stand behind absolutely NOTHING! The LVT crew they hired got started and reached a point where they didn't know how to finish. The installer said he had to go to another job and would be back to finish in a few days. He demanded to be paid for the extras before he left. I called Knotty Alder and they said any extras must be paid. I told they weren't done yet and he hadn't finished the "extras" anyhow. Well, I paid him and the installer never came back. The company sent out a different guy who said they screwed everything up and the guy was a tile installer who had never done LVT before. Right after placing the order, we decided not to carpet an area in the basement. I called John and he said there were no refunds after the order was placed. I said I understand about the carpet, but the installer supplies the pad and they will not be doing the labor. He said we would have to see. They kept the extra padding and no refund on the labor, even after being charged several hundred for the LVT "extras" that were never even done (I ended up removing and installing the toilets myself even though I paid for that. John said it states in the contract that they don't do toilets. But the installer was fine to do it, but he took the money and never returned). After you pay them, they have you do all the calling and scheduling with the installer even though you have no contract with them. The installers drag out fixing the problems for months at a time and when they do come out, they normally say they don't have the materials or tools needed, or they need to get something through Knotty Alder. Knotty Alder will charge you for anything it takes to finish the job, even if it was supposed to be included and already paid for, When we couldn't get the installers back I texted pictures to John and asked if he could get someone out to finish. He would just ask for more pictures. After a year of this he told my wife "sorry, the warranty period has expired." So it appears that the strategy is to charge in full before placing an order, don't take any responsibility for their subs (they were not my subs), let the subs take advantage of their clients, do shoddy work, charge for extras they don't do, tell you to schedule everyone on your own and then after you can't get things resolved they say "too bad, your year is up!" We are still trying to get the installers to finish things and we have offered to pay them. Same results as before, wrong tool or don't have this or that... In some ways I think Knotty Alder has thrown the installers under the bus. We bought the very best LVT flooring they carry. Not only were there install issues, but the edges are delaminating and turning up. Knotty Alder has there money and they wash their hands of EVERYTHING. The installer didn't purchase the material, so it appears they have no leverage or support from the manufacturer. So we are stuck in the middle with no help or support from the only people we had a contract with and they take NO responsibility after the payment in full is made. In the end, I realize they have a nice showroom, but they are not the "nice guys" I thought. The way they have treated us is totally disgraceful and unethical. I wouldn't recommend them to ANYONE based on our experience.

Horrible! The Worst Experience! My carpets looked dirtier after Quall Chemdry's service. I…read morethought maybe it was because the carpet was still wet. after 4 days the carpets finally dried and there were spots everywhere. I realized it was because Qualls team pulled their hoses through my landscaping and onto my carpets. After talking to John (the owner), he reluctantly sent out a new guy to redo my carpets. This time, all the hoses were dragged around, hitting all my newly painted molding and damaging both the paint and moulding. I ask Qualls guy WHY they didn't use corner protectors to protect the paint and mouldings and he told me John (the owner) didn't provide them. This was a disaster from start to finish! Do not use Qualls Chemdry!

I trust Underfoot so much, I had zero trepidation and only gratitude when Deborah was able to get Nate, a fantastic wood professional to come by and access the damage. Nate went above and beyond to make sure my house was safe while I was away. He even went and bought replacement batteries for one of his tools to measure moisture and returned to my house to look at floor content. He then went into the crawl space to check for water. I was referred, by a local carpet shop, to the Carpet Fixer. One friendly phone call brought a guy to my door just a few hours later for a free quote. It only took a few minutes, the price seemed reasonable and an appointment was scheduled for the next day, even though they mentioned they are usually around 2 days out. Our 'carpet laying technician", I'm assuming that is the technical title, was supposed to come between 11-1 & still wasn't there by 1:20. Their SOP is to call when on their way, and I understand that things don't always go as planned, but I wish someone would have called to let me know he was running late.... However, another quick call to the office gave a revised ETA of 2pm and they did make that. Luckily our day was pretty open so we didn't care much. I didn't talk directly with the guy/guys, as I was playing 'keep the dog from licking the nice people's faces off" in the other room, but I am very happy with the results. All in all, I would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future (although I really hope that occasion will not arise).
