My son removed an old ceiling fan and almost finished installing the new one. However, he needed longer screws to install a larger fan and was unsure if he could use the same box in accordance with the county building code. I called for an estimate and explained the situation. The man (perhaps the owner) was very nice. He said it was $95 an hour with a one-hour minimum, but since the job was pretty much complete, it could be less. He sent his guys over to my son's house. They started the job without a callback, for the estimate is the charge. They did not change out the box and only used longer screws. They were there for 40 minutes, mostly just chit-chatting with my son. They told him he did all the work already. I called the next day to pay over the phone, and the woman said it was $135 or $145. She said they claimed they were there for an hour and a half. That's an absolute lie. They also said they spent that time "showing the homeowner how to use the remote." Are they kidding? I paid the amount and now know never to use them again. read more

I called Hayes Electric to come look at a cable that my dog just dug up. They mentioned an electric line should be at least 18 inches deep and 99.9% what I was dealing with was an old phone cable or a cable TV line. Hayes could have come out and charged me a trip charge to tell me the same thing. This will be my go to Electric company if I ever need this type of service in the future. Rick W. read more

I didn't end up using Hayes Electric only because the other electrician I called had called me back earlier and already set something up. I did want to go out of my way to leave them a review because the lady on the phone, Mary had to be one of the kindest most customer service focused driven person I've came across in the service industry in a very long time. She discussed with me their rates, schedules, etc. After speaking to her it doesn't surprise me at all about all of their raving reviews. These people seem an absolute delight. read more

We've used Hayes for years now, and can't imagine using another company. (Well, unless Hayes is booked up -- and they often are, and with good reason.) We've found Hayes Electric to have the most reasonable rates in town, and some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable service staff EVER. The folks here are exceptionally honest, too. For example, we were accidentally over-charged on a bill from Hayes a few weeks ago and -- within just a week or so -- we had a note in the mail and a $79.00 refund check with Hayes' apologies. I called on Thursday and the electrician arrived promptly on Friday morning. He did a great job removing the old ceiling fan and installing the new fan. He was very friendly and worked quickly. I had Alan come out to take a look at a house I am renovating. I feel like he was honest about what I needed done and was very informative. He was definitely one of my favorite tradesmen I have met with during this renovation process and he was extremely helpful. they returned my call first thing monday morning when they opened. the caller was pleasant and accomodating. everything was working properly by noon that same day. all my issues were resolved at a price i could afford. they don't accept credit cards but took a check. the technician was very polite, professional and responsive to my concerns. the overall experience was outstanding. read more
