Nothing but great things to say about this establishment! Staff was so accommodating to our large carry-away order, and it was nice to sit down to a glass of Chardonnay while we waited for our food to be prepared. The food was quality!! Highly recommend! This is a small restaurant, very quiet and low key, which would be great for lunch or dinner. You can tell they take pride in their service here.

Ask for the homemade chilli sauce which adds a sight kick to the meal. The prices are very reasonable and it' shocking to think you can still eat this well in London. It is not exactly centrally located but even if you are not familiar with the area it's worth the trip. You will definately not be disappointed with food, price or service at Bavo.

It's an easy choice at the intersection, especially when you need a (really) quick meal. After a yelp event in Shoreditch, we went in for a bite and were somewhat disappointed with the insipid and dry shawarma plate, which seemed like a good idea in concept --- meat and vegetables. I'm not going to write it off completely as yet, after all, they did get one thing right - the location. Instead, I'll drop in again for another plate to make sure it was not just a bad day for Shawarma. I did get my favorite Ayran (turkish yogurt based drink) though, so that was a positive!

I had a couscous salad which was really about 3 tablespoons worth. It was tasty and fresh. For mains I had lamb which was delicious and tender. Groups can get a bit out of hand. Unfortunately there was only one other couple dining that night so there was not much of a vibe. I think on busier nights it's a great place to go.

My starter was great, a fish salad with lots of tomatos and herbs, supposedly with a special Ethiopian herb mix. It tasted exactly like a British flaked fish salad. Not a bad thing by any means as it was great tasting, but didn't seem the most authentic flavour to me. My main was a mix of greens and beef which was highly recommended by Mesi herself - and it was just a bit...meh. Nothing outstanding, and actually I left half of it because it was just bland. My girlfriend (see Dom R's review) had the veggie mix which was a similar story. Bland and a bit uninspiring. I'm not sure if this was a one off as it has such good ratings elsewhere, but I'm going to be very cautious about when I next eat here. I think the only time I'll opt for it is for the lunch deal, which is about £5 for injerea + the veggie mix! A shame as it could be a great local, but I don't think it's that great!
