THE BEST PLACE to get sushi in suburbia. Small simple menu, but the sashimi and rolls are always well made and fresh. The service is great without being rushed. They just made a few little improvements to the inside. Although its not much to look at from the outside it can actually be a really quiet, cozy and romantic dinner. read more

So me and my girlfriend go here for takeout. I was picking up food with my gf debit card, and they even had her license, she made me drive 30 mins home, grab my gf drive back, told me it was my fault the food was cold and didn't apologize for her suspicions of me.Even got me to swear at her when I told her " that's not the fucking point" refused to give me the food, because she won't be talked to after making me drive 30 mins, eat cold food, no apology, and not even a little discount. Like the song...At first I was afraid, I was petrified, well you know the rest. After living in San Francisco for 10 years I've become a bit of a sushi snob. Me and snob in the same sentence do not go hand in hand; however for sushi I am a die hard fan. What I need to convey to you is that I am no longer homesick for SF sushi. Hayashi is AMAZING sushi right here in Easton, Massachusetts! Yep. I said it. WE ordered, well I ordered almost everything on the menu here...I went a bit overboard, but I was craving it and I needed it. Anything you order will be fresh and almost orgasmic for your mouth. We had our parents 40th Anniversary party here. The staff was beyond accommodating and the food was fantastic. Everyone raved about the food and the professionalism of the staff. They took pictures for us during the day and provided us with a slideshow set to music recapping our event which was a nice touch. This place is amazing. My wife and I moved to Mass from Vermont and found that Massachusetts as a whole is a culinary wasteland. Thank god for this gem. Great sushi and awesome service. Hayashi doesn't look like much from the outside, but has much to offer. The decor is pretty elegant - green walls, classy framed photos and dim lighting. It's small in size but intimate. I was satisfied with the food and service. I'll be dining here again! read more

This place is SMALL. You walk in and wonder where the rest of it is. As small as it is, though, it seems like it's always the right kind of busy: enough people that you don't feel like you're eating by yourself, but not so many people that you have other diners breathing on your food. The sushi is really good for such a small, out of the way restaurant. I've been here several times and haven't been disappointed yet. Service can be a little slow, since there's only one server/hostess, but the food is as good as it gets in the area. In a town with very few good dining options, Hayashi stands out. read more

We were having a sushi craving on the way from Boston to Tiverton. Finding authentic sushi in Connecticut isn't easy but we found this spot on Yelp. The Udon was great. Potstickers were really good. Scallion pancake quite different from what we've had elsewhere - much more like a potato/veggie pancake. Sushi was just OK so 3 stars for the food, but extra star because the owner was incredibly friendly. Next time we'll try some of their sushi specials. read more

Very fresh sushi. Ordered 3 rolls and they were delicious. The pieces were small and enjoyable. I hate when they are too big. I really like how they pack in my take out order an empty soy sauce cup for effective dipping. Tastes like new york sushi and mimics our fav place in Boston. They lost one star for the tempature of the rolls could have been cooler (not warm by any means), also the prices of the specialty rolls are steep and they could be more creative with roll Creation and variation. Having dined here with my friends and family for years, we recently discovered a wonderful little item, the Sunshine Maki (salmon, lemon, cilantro and cucumber) and we were amazed. Also exciting is that they are in the process of installing beautiful tables with a center hot coil for hot pot cooking. How cozy in the winter that will be! So I've lived in Easton for less than a year now, and I've already been to this place almost a dozen times. I always get the same thing: Pad Thai. I have yet to get anything else, even the sushi (of which I am a big fan), because every time I crave Pad Thai, this is where I head. Be warned! You'll have to wait a little bit longer than normal to get this dish (even when hardly anyone else was in the place it still took awhile). But you know why? It's freshly made, not cooked several hours before you got there and then reheated. The vegetables are crisp, the chicken is always tender and juicy and the noodles are savory. Which freshly chopped peanuts on top, this is Pad Thai perfection! I've only ever seen one waitress there, but she is very friendly and makes you feel like you're a guest instead of any old customer. Ok so I have lived 10 minutes from this place and just found it 3 days before I move. When you first pull in to the strip mall your first reaction may be to turn the other way but don't! This hole in the wall sushi restaurant is worth the sketchy parking lot. The food is fresh and the vibe is cozy. You can tell these people care about the food and the environment. Very happy with my dining experience here. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The decor is pleasant, and dining here felt personal, almost like dining at home. The restaurant isn't big, but can accommodate about 25 people. No wait for a table on a Saturday night, despite a number of people in the restaurant. As one other reviewer described, it's "the right kind of busy." Service was friendly, prompt, and attentive. Sushi was fresh and of high quality. We came here for the sushi, and loved it. Terribly run. They should be embarassed. Many times I have ordered from this place and they do not either A. Make your food at all, requiring a refund or you to wait 40 minutes to get it (after you've already waited a half hour), or they B. Don't have your food ready even close to the time they quote you. I've also been given half my meal in the takeout bag and not noticed until I got home that I was missing rice or the makis. The phone or online ordering should not be treated so secondary to the customers sitting, they dont seem to care about their takeout business at all. When you do sit in and dine, the problems are minimized, but are still there. Even when it isnt busy they dont seem to care to bring you your check in a timely manner or check in on you for drinks. Sometimes you can be the ONLY group there and still be ignored for long periods of time. I've had to leave a zero dollar tip once before because it took literally 30 minutes between telling them I'm done, getting my check, and paying/signing for it. Felt like a prisoner. I've spent thousands of dollars at Hayashi. They are lucky they are the only place around that does what they do. Some competition should move in so I can give them my money instead. Good sushi though, if you don't die from starvation before you actually get to eat. read more

Well... Very disappointed! Beautiful place after reopening. Service horrible!! And the Sushi rolls have gotten smaller. Overall not worth the value. And...left hungry.
