I phoned Hawx because a door to door salesman from their company is going around our neighborhood. When I expressed my concern due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Evan, employee number 4774, stating he was the accounts manager, told me they are allowed to do so. I stated there are many companies that are putting communities first and stopping door to door sales. He responded that many companies are choosing to continue. My husband had a massive heart attack 3 months ago. The young man who knocked on my door from their company was not wearing a mask. When I asked for a supervisor, Evan stated he was the supervisor. We had been customers with Hawx Pest control for years. They came door to door and told my husband we wouldn't pay anything more per month, though if we signed a new contract we'd get more services. Trusted them since we had services for several years and seemed good up until then. Had to pay $180 to break this useless extra contact. Not sure if management changed, we were loyal customers for years but when I called they said too bad, that we should have read the contract better. Will not be using this company again. They are notorious for no shows or calling the day of the appointment to cancel. A shyster salesman came to our door and sold me a bill of goods with Hawx -- he spoke about how they would treat our yard and that their philosophy was that if bugs weren't in the yard they wouldn't come in our house. I believed him. Our yard does not get treated at all and since we switched to Hawx our house and yard are teeming with bugs of all types (roaches, ants, wasps, spiders) inside and outside. We never had an issue with Arrow. I regret being taken in by the shyster salesman. To boot, there is a $190 termination fee -- the fact that there's a termination fee should have been a clue that the service is garbage. Avoid these people. We got Hawx just for the mosquito service for 8 months. The door-to-door salesperson told me that my contract could easily be changed to limit the months this year, as I did not believe I would need it in September and October. I called and emailed several times, and was never able to get it changed. They indicated I would have to cancel the contract and incur a fee to do so. Additionally, we did not feel this service did much to eliminate mosquitoes. They did come out and do an extra spray a couple of times when we asked, but we did not see a difference. We used Cutter spray with our hose last year, and that was more effective. I would not recommend this service. read more

Don't Do It!! The sales person came to my door claiming my next door neighbor was a client which was only half true since he had JUST signed up that same day. I don't like doing business based on half truths so I canceled the contract, per the instructed process, the next morning. The following Tuesday I get a text saying they'll be there to service my yard on Thursday. I called to say I sent the cancellation form and was told I had to call another number. I called that number and got a CS rep who told me I had to speak to an Account Manager. They finally processed the cancellation (that I'd already sent in writing!!) but it was a struggle. But my biggest problem is bug bites I've had my second treatment and so far what the young man promised, his company has delivered. It was interesting to see all the dead bugs after the treatment. I signed up with Hawx for treatments that "included" Mole control. They have done an excellent job with that problem. But, after 3 years, I was told that was no longer included in my program and I would be billed separately for substantially more money. I said that was agreed upon when I started the program and don't see why it should change with no warning. Very unhappy about this increase. I had to take the treatment and pay separately. But, to make matters even worse, Tech only leaned down and put one poison in the yard and did not bait the boxes in the yard. A week later, problem continued and asked for a re-treatment. After the guy left my residence (same day), my GF was bitten by a yellow jacket. She didn't notice the nest on the porch (what am I paying for?)! I gave them a shot, and it was a bad idea. The tech never came inside the house as promised, nor did he ever enter the back yard. They stayed for maybe 20 minutes a time or less (times 3, as per my security cameras) at any given visit. Most of that time wasted mixing chemicals and talking on his phone. Now why, I ask would you voluntarily pay a years service for that kind of service. Now they want to charge me $249.99 to cancel that garbage after they cannot keep appointments stated in the contract. Yet they want to hold me to a contract that I was lied to about? HA! I spent $300 on the worst bug technician, most inconsiderate customer service people I have ever heard from, and then paid $250 to never have them back on my property!!! This business is a scam!!! Today, I asked David to brush my window jambs on my outside patio. He was like, you mean the soffits, we do the soffits. No, I mean the window jambs. He responded, that is a soffit. You can buy these brushes on Amazon and do it yourself. No... Also, David, don't bother spraying around my outdoor dining area because I have butterfly plants and want to protect the butterflies. He responded, that's not my job. If anyone ever sprayed there it was wrong. We do you home exterior. Then he goes to the front and then he came back. I told you to meet me in the front, me-I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. Him- you said you wanted the inside done this time. I was waiting on you. IF they show up at all, or even to the correct house, their treatment seems to be only moderately effective in controlling the spider population. However 2 out of 3 applications have been done to the wrong house and they offer horrible customer service. You get the impression that you are inconveniencing them and that you're at fault for any issues. I honestly do not know how this company is still in business given my experience and reading horrifying experiences of other customers on this site and others. Don't Open The Door! I received a solicitation from a nice sales guy. I advised him that I didn't want the service but he did what sales people do and kept shuffling the prices around. Due to his ambition, I went ahead and said I would do 1 service. Why did I say that? 1 service is super high and then you are soon talked into a contract. I wouldn't of had an issue with the contract but the pest solution in which they use, didn't kill any regular house pests that a raid bomb killed a couple of weeks after treatment. Last year a young man came to our door and we finally they could give us one spray. Well we later found out we were signed up for a year. The only bugs killed were Lady Bugs and preying mantis. We never had ants and have had many problems with them. I talked to them last fall and they told us we had to finish out the year. Well we finished it and now we have received another email this year saying they will come tomorrow. We have been out of town for mothers funeral so didn't see the STUPID EMAIL UNTIL TONIGHT. last fall, a predatory door-to-door salesman talked me in to a discounted one time treatment because my neighbor (whom the salesman mentioned by name) was supposedly having them come out the next day, so if I got a treatment the same day, they could knock it out while they were already in town. he held up an ipad signature page for me to sign and said it was for the payment for the treatment taking place the next day. there was no writing on the page, just a signature line, like you would expect for a credit card payment. I then got an email saying i had signed up for a contract that would charge me monthly for quarterly services. luckily, there was a 3 day window to cancel before it would cost me a $200 cancelation fee. I attempted to call hawx multiple times, sat on hold for actual hours, and tried live chat and the call back options to cancel the treatment scheduled for the next day, and end my contract before it was too late. i was unable to get a response. i spoke with my neighbor who said he had told the salesman to kick rocks and was certainly not having them come to his house. i was freaking out that I had gotten scammed, so I contacted the bbb, and found a plethora of other complaints for similar situations. only after I submitted my complaint to the bbb did Hawx respond to me, and cancel my plan. I then received a call from the original salesperson who attempted to make me feel guilty because, "we talked about this and you knew what you were signing up for". I informed him I changed my mind and asked not to be contacted again. I thought it was all over, but just recently I started receiving unsolicited sales texts. and emails from them. so if they can come back around for round 2, so will I. Hawx had a sales rep. in our neighborhood going around. I told them I was already using another pest company but told them I was still having issues with lawn gnats. They said they could get rid of them with no problem. I told them if they did I would keep using them and if not I would go back to my original pest company. Sales guy was nice. Service tech was nice. Unfortunately they were unable to do anything about the lawn gnats but refused to let me out of the one year agreement that I had to sign, even though the sales rep. said it wouldn't be a problem. Customer service is garbage. I spoke to two account managers, one of which said they would cancel upcoming appointments so I wouldn't be billed until they could contact the sales rep. about letting me out of my agreement. My house was serviced 3 days later and I was billed. Second account manager said there was nothing they could do and there was no one above her that I could talk to. Also, my other pest company is better in every way. They do more. They cost less. There customer service is amazing whether it be by phone or e-mail. (Hawx doesn't even respond to e-mails.) My name is Julie Moore. In July a person from Hawx walked into my yard and told me that there was a special offer for pest control for $40. They said usual price was $200. We thought that was a great deal. They were going around all of Frankfort that day. She wanted my debit card for payment and I was a little skeptical. I asked and made sure that this was a one time charge. She said "of course". Yesterday I get and email that says they had taken another $40 out of my account. I called Hawks pest control and talked to an operator. She told me that we have a subscription for one year at $40 a month but that they would only be out every 3 months to treat. I told her that I wanted this to stop I wanted to cancel my subscription if that's what we had. She told me I could if I wanted to pay a penalty which was $220. I let her know about the lady that came up to my yard. And what was said. She told me that she was sorry but we had a subscription. I'd let her know that the pest control that they did did not work I still have the same problems with bugs around my house and she told me that sometimes that happens but that we could get a warranty we had a warranty that they would come back out. What Hawx pest control did was take advantage of someone and they got away with it. I am calling Hawks and letting them know that they are never to step foot on my property again or they will be trespassing. I would never suggest for anyone to deal with these people. They lock you in to about 3 visits totaling over $200 and then come back after winter time and charge your account again. We said we didn't want their service anymore because we had more mole hills now even after they treated our yard in the fall, but they said 'the only way to get out of the contract was to pay a $75 fee for one more visit.'
