Hawx has been providing pest control services for my property for more than two years. They communicate regularly - when they are coming, when they are about to arrive, and then send an update with pictures when they are finished. I have been home a couple of times they have done service, and the technician has always been polite and professional. I have dogs, and make sure to keep them in the house when the tech visits. I have a lock on the gate, and they always make sure it is secure when they leave. I would recommend Hawx Pest Control to everyone. read more

I've been with hawx for their pest service a few years now, and I appreciate that it's all scheduled and happens on schedule, they do a great job of keeping track, letting me know before when they'll be here, and checking if any issues needing special service. Prior to using them I'd see several spiders and multi legged creepy crawlers frequently and this takes care of that. And if there were a sudden sighting of multiple pests, or a certain type, then I'm confident they'd spot treat if needed. Extremely disappointed in Hawx service. Zero impact on pests inside and outside of my house after 3 straight months of treatments in a row, which required me to call them because they don't treat each month. Now they are charging me $199 to cancel my contract, which at this point I'd rather pay then continue with the frustration. The 3rd and final tech that came out said he didn't want to come in the house because the bugs could become immune to the treatments. Then he sprayed outside and placed a rodent trap (I don't have a rodent problem). Again, zero impact. My experience with other pest control companies has been significantly better so I'll be going back to Lady Bug. NOTE: The Hawx customer portal provides no access to communicate with management or anyone directly. When you call the local number they place you on hold - then randomly hang up after 10 minutes holding. Finally got through to an account manager who spent 20 minutes trying to convince me to give them another (4th) chance. Unfortunate customer service. read more

I would strongly caution anyone considering Hawx Pest Control. I called to cancel my service, thinking that was the end of it. But instead of honoring my cancellation, they continued charging my credit card. When I called again to find out why, I was told that I needed to call again to confirm the cancellation -- something no one clearly explained the first time. To make things worse, after my first cancellation call, they sent me a long, misleading email that looked like a confirmation at first glance. But buried inside, it stated that they'd still be sending someone out and that I'd have to call again after the "next appointment" to finalize my cancellation. Most people don't have time to read a wall of text like that -- it feels intentionally confusing. This kind of practice doesn't feel customer-friendly at all. Instead of making it easy to stop service when you no longer need it, Hawx seems more interested in trapping you into extra charges. I would not recommend them to anyone who values transparency, honesty, or respect for their time and money. read more

We've had Hawx for about a year, and the experience has been disappointing. I've let my account go the full year of the contract and was prepared to just let it fall off. One of their sales reps was in our area and when approached, I let him know I already had the services, was unimpressed, and I wasn't interested in anything else. He wanted to review my account as a manager, then informed me that he didn't think we were getting the services we were paying for. I signed, assuming he was helping, and he said I would not be charged. I was charged a $79 fee as soon as he left my property. I texted him from the number I had and told him that I was charged and wanted to cancel. No answer. Then I got a text saying they were coming to treat and I asked them to cancel, no response, still "treated" supposedly. So now I'm being charged my monthly plus $79 for services I did try to cancel. Second, attempting to cancel via phone was a joke. I was on the phone for 25 minutes speaking with someone who just dismissed what I was saying because I signed and had 3 days to cancel. I was charged $55 for a membership fee, $79 for a monthly visit I didn't want, and now they want me to pay $199 for early termination -- even though a district manager told me I wouldn't be charged the $79 to begin with. They charged me anyway. They came back to me with an offer to stop the $79 service I don't want (I was already charged twice), credit my account $70 (so less than one charge), if I agree to another 36 month term to waive the cancellation fee. So pay for an unsatisfactory service for 3 more years so you don't lose $200? In the midst of this, my grandmother was living with me on hospice and then passed away. So of course I didn't have time to get back to this about this agreement but I had communicated multiple times that I wanted to cancel. Calling is your only option so they can bully/intimidate you. Save yourself the trouble, go with another company. They are awful to deal with. read more

They sent a door to door salesman to my father's neighborhood of elderly retirees, told him he had a wasp nest outside, and talked to him about pest control until he gave up and signed up for services he didn't need. Did not leave contact information behind, not even a card. He received the contract after signing on an electronic device-- no chance to read it beforehand. He tried to call and cancel service the same day, but you can't talk to the local office. Their local number goes to a call center. When we finally managed to get someone on the phone they said they'd call back and never did. I drove by to deliver his cancellation of service notice, and there's no one available to speak to. The door is locked, and they don't respond to knocking. You have to cancel by midnight on the 3rd day via mail to Ogden, Utah or send a telegram to the same place. So far we've spent $31 on overnight mail with tracking to get it to Ogden in time, $25 on a stop payment fee for the check they took from him. If it's not cancelled within 3 days, the cancellation fee is $199. They have a class action lawsuit against them for predatory sales tactics in the state of California. Dad has a No Soliciting sign on his door now. If they don't cancel without penalty I'm filing a complaint with the AG. read more

I gave one star because the person who even set me up with this place named Cole..was very polite and sold the company. I got my first treatment in June when I set up account. July my house caught fire and deemed a complete loss. I call these people and they tell me I can't cancel my contract because its what I signed up for and they have been billing me every since. How do you bill a person when you can't even service the property??? Someone please answer that for me because I'm confused. read more

I've used Hawk's Pest Control at three different locations, the first time was before our daughter's graduation party in our backyard to fog for mosquitoes. They treated 3 times before our party, it didn't help, at all. First mistake. New location, they came out the first time, wasn't impressed but though it was the tech. I have spider webs in the majority of the windows, spider webs around my entire back porch. Fogging is a joke. They tell you they are going to spread granules in the grass, I went out right after they left (after calling to complain about them not even treating the backyard) the granule bag looked empty from the beginning and nothing was coming out of the spreader. When I went out to look, there wasn't a single granule in the grass! I used to treat my lawn myself so I know what to expect. Then they tell me the granules are brown and very hard to see....lol. The second pass by he was even turning the handle on the hand held spreader. The "fogger" for mosquitoes was more like a leaf blower, no white fog and NO backyard treatment, where we needed it! I've been on the phone with "customer Service" for over an hour, they have repeatedly said to me, "I don't want to call you a liar", or it's a "he said, she said" situation. Give me a break!! This is the Indianapolis, IN branch that I'm dealing with. I had to drive 35 minutes to knock on their door (that was locked and all blinds shut) to even speak with someone about my situation. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING! The salesmen lie about the service agreement then you are left to fight the battle of trying to cancel. Your only recourse is to stop payment on your card. DO NOT GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD! Never again, will I waste money on this company. read more

The rep lied to me and and said there was no cancelation charge. It was $200. The services do not work. When trying to cancel they only want to offer more services and say it will fix the issue. Do not use them. They don't know anything, they don't research, they spray and fix nothing. I had them for 3 months and my issues only proceeded to get worse. My first issue started with springtails and they didn't even know what it was. Then that issue expanded and they came here 4 times in 2 months and still the issue wasn't resolved. It started with spiders, went to springtails, added centipedes, added beetles, added small spiders, springtails are still there. I called and cancelled and they charged per each service they upgraded. Run don't walk. read more

I sought out an exterminator through Angi's List and was immediately contacted by Hawx Pest Control. Within a day, I was bombarded with persistent calls until I finally answered. A salesperson quickly charmed me into scheduling a service for ants, but rushed me through a contract over the phone--locking me into a 12-month agreement before anyone even came to my home. When the technician arrived, his first words to me were, "Have you read the fine print of the contract they made you sign?" I admitted I hadn't, and he went on to tell me that Hawx was unreliable, often missed appointments, and recommended another company he used to work for instead. He also said I had three days to cancel without penalty, and casually mentioned it was his last day working for Hawx. His entire "treatment" of my four-floor townhome was placing two small spots of liquid ant bait. Feeling uneasy, I immediately called Hawx to cancel. After 20 minutes on hold, I reached a customer service rep who acted confused and disengaged, but eventually told me my account was closed and everything was taken care of. Four hours later, I received a text from that same agent (from a random number) saying he had "made a mistake" and could not close my account without charging me a rescission fee. When I called back, they confirmed I was still locked in and would be charged, despite what both the technician and their own representative had told me. At that point, another person--Cooper, who claimed to be a manager--jumped on the call, cut off the previous rep, and flatly refused to cancel my account. He repeatedly patronized me by saying "you signed a contract" and even mocked my concerns by suggesting an attorney would "tell me the same thing." He tried to "sweeten the deal" by lowering my monthly cost by $15 and asked, "Do you know how much that is after a year?"--as if I couldn't do basic math. I explained I wasn't looking for a discount; I was deeply uncomfortable with their deceptive practices and unprofessional behavior. Cooper then insisted that for the local manager to perform a "warranty touch-up," I would need to re-enter my credit card information into their system (which I had already removed out of distrust). When I refused, he threatened to immediately charge me a $200 cancellation fee. This entire experience left me shocked and appalled. Instead of finding a trustworthy pest control company, I was manipulated, rushed into a binding contract, provided almost no real service, and then bullied when I tried to cancel. From start to finish, Hawx Pest Control's approach was deceptive, unprofessional, and predatory. Do not show up for appointment or communicate missed appointment. They seem surprised when I finally get ahold of office to ask for them to reschedule my routine pest service for no-show.. Do not return text messages. Do not automatically knock down spider webs on windows or treat for spiders where spider webs are identified -- you have to point it out to the pest rep. They schedule service on known rain days almost like they will have an excuse for not showing up. I am. not impressed with the pest service or pest treatments from Hawx Pest Control. The sales rep assured me there was a dedicated pest rep who would be servicing my home which turns out to be false. . Poor. Still trying to get a hold of service rep to reschedule pest service for no-show. Hawx Pest certainly has no issues Taking the automated monthly payments. Do not recommend Hawx Pest. I tried to call back to get someone out when the yellow jacket infestation got worse, but no answer. They continued to charge, but never called back or came back out. Scam Artists. Please do yourself a favor and don't allow these fraudulent pests into your life. A young kid came to my door and I agreed to a one-time spray. They kept trying to talk me into a monthly fee and I was very clear in saying, "THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD SIGN UP FOR A MONTHLY RECURRING SERVICE/FEE. Give me a one-time spray, that's all I am interested in." So he agrees and sends me the contract. Then texts me that there was a mistake with the contract and that he needs to send me an updated one. I sign, and they do the spray. I need to call them to re-spray because honestly it didn't work and we were still getting ripped up by mosquitos. But that isn't the worst part. A month later someone comes and sprays without my consent and a $79.00 charge shows up in my account. I call to tell them that I want them to cancel my account and delete my information because I am getting charged for services I didn't request. They tell me that the contract I signed was for a monthly service at $79.00 a month for an entire year and if I want to cancel it I need to pay $200. I ask to speak with their managers, and they assure me that their manager will say the same thing. I texted the kid who sold me and asked how this happened, he blocked my number after the first text. This is 100% Consumer Fraud and they deserve to be put out of business. Do yourself a favor and RUN. read more

Been using them for over a year now and my life has been HELL at home. Fleas, flys, bees and now cockroaches have increased since spending my money with Hawx, and because THEY decided to set up the account in my husbands name and not mine, they won't let me cancel even though I am the only one they've ever spoken to. They also have sprayed my wildflowers I planted and stunted most of them after asking them not to. They do not send service photos every time and there's no guarantee they've hit my garage at all.
