Just had some laminate flooring installed by Hawse Abbey Carpet and I am "floored"! This is an amazing company that truly cares about their customers. Of the estimates I'd received they were in the middle. Donna allowed me to take laminate samples home so that I could choose what color, thickness, etc. would work best. She was also prompt in getting all paperwork out to me. Bob came by and took the measurements and also assisted with initial preparations of the foundation. These guys did a Great job at our house. We have used them in the past for carpet with great results so we decided to go with them on some wood flooring.... and Stairs we new our stairs would be challenging so we were a little concerned. All companies say they can do the work but do and do well are two different things. They showed up on the day they had promised and had the work done in the time frame they promised... how odd. Anyway not only are they a well run business but the work was outstanding. The workers were very polite and Rick, went out of his way to do a professional job not a quick job. He was meticulous and made sure the work was done right. Made all cuts outside, put up protection when needed and cleans up nightly. We were very satisfied and relieved when the work was complete. Over the past month my wife and I have had the opportunity to have Hawse Abbey update/remodel our 44 year old home in Chatsworth. This included floor removal and repair with new wood and tile and changing our lighting in our bathrooms by reframing and putting in new modern LED lights and painting multiple rooms. Carpeting in our family room had become quite worn in the traffic path from the kitchen and garage to the sliding glass doors. We have Armstrong Solarium kitchen flooring that won't wear out so we wanted to try to get a flooring that would pick up the colors in it. These guys are super friendly and helpful. My wife and I went to Flooring 101 next to Ralph's first, and the guy there wasn't interested in helping us or answering any questions. We looked around for a while and left. The next day we dropped into this place and Donna listened to what we were looking for, personally recommended different styles, and even let us take several of their sample boards home to compare with the repainting we had just done! Then they provided a very reasonable price, had the work done within a few days, and they even came back to re-do a small area (walk-in closet) that quoted originally AT NO ADDITIONAL COST! Okay so, at this point they've got a customer for life and will be getting referrals from me to anybody even thinking about new flooring. But then I came back a week later to pay the 2nd half of what I owe, and in conversation tell them I already smudged up the new carpet during the moving process, and they GIVE me a bottle of cleaning solution designed for the type of carpet we purchased! When we had our condo Abbey did our carpet, tiled a bathroom that was poorly done by a prior contractor, and when a flood hit the downstairs, they replaced all of the laminate flooring. Carpet Replacement: My wife and I went to Lowes, Home Depot (HD) and Hawse Abbey Carpet for quotes to replace all of the carpeting in our home. Lowes charged $40.00, HD charged $50.00 and Hawse had no charge for measuring and quoting. After measuring, HD sent a quote for $7100.00 and told us it will take up to 4 weeks for installation. The day after HD sent the first quote, HD sent an updated quote for $7200.00 without explaining what the additional charge was for. Lowes never sent a quote, never called; they simply pocketed my $40.00 for a nominal profit. Hawse submitted a quote for $6000.00 and told me it could be installed within one week (on a Saturday). It was an easy decision to select Hawse and we are glad that we did. The installers showed up 10 minutes earlier than expected (8 am) and were finished with the installation by 2 pm. Hawse Abbey Carpet is very professional with great customer service, reasonable prices and excellent installers. I highly recommend them. read more

Getting her scheduled to come out for measurements and a quote was insanely quick, especially since it was during the holidays! Not interested in getting new customers. Tried to come in to buy some flooring and the woman had a "can't do" attitude about everything. Advised me against getting wood on my stairs even though I am doing the rest of the house in wood because I might slip. I mean haven't people been using wood on stairs since maybe the 1500's? Also even though the parking lot was empty apparently they have a 4 week waiting period to install 1500 sq ft of flooring. Not going to delay moving into my new house for 4 weeks. 4 times longer than anyone else would take to get an appointment. Tried to ask advise but apparently she could not say anything about anything until I already picked out what I wanted. I left and found another local flooring place that COULD do everything (since that IS what they do after all) and wanted my business. read more

The sales rep we spoke with was very friendly, helpful and informative. We ultimately chose another company as the Hawse quote was $1,500 more than two other quotes we received. The quotes were for same products and service. We I asked Hawse for details on pricing And were told they don't provide a transparent brake down just summaries. We didn't know how many square foot or the cost per square the quote was for. I recommend getting three quotes to compare before making a flooring decision. read more

I had my floors done in 2014, they started to fall behind schedule so they worked into the evening to catch up because I have movers scheduled so floors needed to be done before. Since then, they have helped me order additional flooring to help during my remodel.
