As a first time home buyer, attorney recommended to get an oil tank sweep done for the property...Asked my real estate agent for some referral but their overall reviews were just ok...I happened to be speaking to my home inspector I hired, his words were, the most critical component to an oil sweep is the equipment they use. And of all the years, he only recommends one company/person, and that is Scott with Hawkeye Services. Not only did he have the best equipment, he is good... Inspector told me to go do your research and look him up. He was right, his reviews were stellar! Fortunately for me, he was available the same day as the home inspection. I decided to do an oil tank sweep inspection for a new home. While not mandatory, it is recommended and I'm glad that I did it. Scott was recommended to me, and when I reached out to schedule the inspection was super responsive, very professional and explained exactly what the inspection would involve, how long it would take and cost - so there were no surprises. Once he arrived for the inspection he explained the process again, answered all of my questions and was EXTREMELY thorough with the inspection and the report was provided shortly after. No tank was found, but the inspection gave me confidence and peace of mind that there would be no potential surprises later. Scott performed a tank sweep around a home and outbuilding we are potentially buying. This was done in a torrential downpour! Scott arrived ahead of the scheduled appointment and got to work right away. I was in the process of buying a old house where the property also had a large garage building. The garage building had been used to service excavation and earthmoving.
