Haweli is on the very busy Hagley Road, opposite the Kings Head pub and parking can be difficult, but persist as it is really worth it. I am latecomer to Haweli, I must say. I think it's been there for years but it is now a favourite of mine. It is quite cramped and not the most glamourous of restaurants but it attracts a real mixed crowd and you HAVE to book at the weekend as I doubt you would get in otherwise. The service is friendly and it is licensed. So on to the main attraction - the food at Haweli is lovely. It is a pretty extensive menu - and if you are vegetarian, you are in for a cheap night as it is really reasonable. Not that it will break the bank for carnivores but as a vegetarian I think you would be pushed to spend £10 per head on food here. The star dishes is their Saag Paneer. It's really authentic, the paneer is creamy and soft and the spinach carries subtle spices. . Haweli attracts quite a few Asian families - a good sign I would say. read more
