What a great little place. I wandered in and my first question was what have you got that i can take away in the next five minutes. My UBER was on the way and i needed this to be quick. The friendly lady behind the counter suggested chicken meat with rice and salad......Healthy......chek......fast.......check........and everything looked great so i instantly signed up and she got going with the prep. There was a whole load of salad on offer which I liked...I standardly wait for the works with chili and garlic as well as the welcome addition of pomegranate sauce! A good condiment selection took this place from 4-5* by the way......also the face the chilli and garlic were homemade.....winning! The food was fresh, tasty and not greasy at all. i was a very happy boy! If you are in the Kings Heath area check this little place out if you want some good grub on the go.

It was great to see couples and families there. The food is on par with the kebabs I had in Instanbul. Really authentic and great tasting. Price wise, yes it's more expensive than the local kebab shop but what you get here is great flavours and a proper kebab! There's fantastic sharing starters which are good value for money. But I tend to skip those as the main meal portion sizes are massive! Today I had kofte with mixed vegetables and spicy rice. Other with me had handmade chips which looked tasty. The drinks (they serve Effes beer!) are well priced too. Desserts are good value for money but you'll be stretching yourself if you need one! So much but so good!…read more Right next to Fishylicious is a quiet Turkish restaurant me and my friends Davey and Albert passed by. We saw this place first being developed when we stopped at Fishylicious. This time, on the way to Fishylicious, we decided to opt for Konya instead, which also not long ago got a mention in the Birmingham Mail as one of the places to try, now I know why. Despite being the only customers to dine at the place, the service was on the path of failure, however it steadily made a great recovery. The menu consists of a great selection of roast meats, fish and even pizzas! However for me and my friends, it's a must try kebab of some sorts. I had the Chicken Shawarma, while the others had a Lamb Kofte, Chicken Shish and Lamb Shish, all served in a big plate with a mountain of rice. Good thing there's always the salad too, which the waiter added some feta cheese as a bonus for us! Not to mention the condiments, were also a great compliment to the meal which consists of yoghurt, ketchup, spicy chilli and salsa! The meats were generously portioned but also tender in the process, therefore you shouldn't have any concerns over meat quality too. Konya is great value for money and I look forward to coming here on a regular basis. It definitely isn't your regular kebab shop, be sure to check it out!

Best of all was the pudding - at the time I was just weaning myself off a diet and had been drooling at Gregg's doughnuts for the best part of a week. I'm so glad I waited because the desserts here are amazing - as well as Baklava they do Iranian sorbet, ice creams and (also very generous in size) fruit salad. The restaurant isn't licensed but they do really refreshing mint tea - which given the amount of food we'd managed to pack away was a welcome addition. I must confess that Turkish / Greek food isn't my favourite type, but I do like it for a change now and again. Once you are seated at Antalya and your drinks order has been taken, warm strips of a flat bread will be brought to your table, alone with dishes of olives and pickled peppers (the ones that look like large chillies, but are not spicy as such). These are free, and you can nibble on them as you decide on your order. There are a wide range of hot and cold starters, with my favourite being a 'mezze' selection...a small plate with around 8 or 10 items on it, e.g. hummous, taramasalata, some kind of bean salad, a meatball, stuffed vine leaf, a 'burek' (sort of a cheese samosa) and some other bits. Want some more free bread to mop things up with? Just ask. Main courses consist of a lot of lamb and chicken dishes, with some fish and vegetarian options too. My recommendation is the Iskendar kebab, a dish containing a mixture of meats in a tomatoey sauce, served over pitta bread. If you have room for dessert, the trolley appears to be well stocked with cakes and traditional Turkish baklava...very sweet pastry affairs, sometimes nutty, and dripping with syrup or honey. Too sweet for my tooth, but each to their own. If you decide not to have a dessert, your meal will still be rounded off by a free shot of a fruit liqueur, usually on offer is banana, cherry, strawberry, and possibly one other. Also, a plate of free fruit is served which is great to cleanse the palate, but also great as a free alternative to dessert, if you didn't fancy one of the heavy offerings from the trolley. The staff are attentive without being overbearing, and they are very friendly. One waiter overheard my brother saying how much he liked the apple tea they served there, and he went into the kitchen and came out with a pack of the stuff for him to take home. I don't know if this is a family run restaurant, but it certainly has that feel. When the bill comes, if you've had a couple of drinks then don't expect any change from a 20 if you had a starter and a main course. I never feel cheated when paying the bill here, as I do feel that the little 'extras' add a lot of value to the dining experience. The ambience is relaxed and friendly, great for couples, families or group bookings...a good all-rounder in this respect.

I rarely do reviews but I was stunned when I came across the John Pars one…read more I've been to Pasha's five times with different people. The last two times as birthday celebratory meals. The service has been excellent and so has been the food. In the sharing meals, there is such a good amount of lovely fresh food, I always have to take away because I can't eat it all. I do have to wait for a little while for the main dishes but its because the food is being cooked (not warmed up from the freezer/fridge) but you do get fresh bread and a nice dish in the meantime. Anyone who has been to a wide spectrum of different types of restaurants, including the michelin star rated ones, will undoubtedly be impressed with the quality of food in this little restaurant. It is not expensive, in my opinion and experience. In the 'significantly' more expensive restaurants in the city centre and other places you also wait for the food to be prepared. I am very pernickerty about cleanliness and the tables, cutlery, glasses and dishes were clean. The staff are great, attentive and very welcoming. I will be going again for another birthday treat with a group of women and I know they will all, like my previous guests, will have a great time.
