More than I would usually pay for a quick lunch but this is a top quality place and I'd promised myself this treat. I will have to visit again and urge anyone passing Ripley on the A38 who needs a food break to give this place a try whether for a quick takeaway or proper sit down meal. The monkfish, my first time trying it fried, was delicious and perfectly fried in the traditional way in beef fat. The chips were also perfect and held up well to vinegar without going soppy! Sam, our waitress, took great care of us and the local pale ale was a fantastic accompaniment to the meal.
