Seamus was a very knowledgeable guide - very approachable and fun to hang out with. He knew the trail very well and carefully guided us over the more slippery areas. One should definitely be prepared to get muddy and wet on this tour - I actually felt relieved that it was raining because there are lots of changes in the terrain and sunny/hot weather may have been too much. Seamus will say the trail is okay for children and elderly, but I don't believe it is. Might be a pain. I wanted to get a little rugged this trip, so it was perfect for me. The waterfall at the end was gorgeous - Seamus didn't rush us at all. We were unable to do the beach due to the weather, but Seamus took us around the island and showed us turtle beach, which was lovely because we got to see multiple sea turtles! We stopped at a local woodworker's shop for gifts which was a nice touch - always prefer the mom and pop places to the cheap junk you get in touristy shops. Pickup and drop-off were seamless. Easily one of my highlights this trip and have already recommended to a friend who will be in the area soon. Thanks Seamus!

First, we didn't get to experience the Waimea Falls or swim with the turtles because it rained so much the night before AND of course for the safety of all (mother nature, staff and guests) they had to close access to that area. It was a bummer BUT Seamus and Sandy truly made our day such a BLAST! We could tell that Seamus truly loves his career. We learned and saw so much about the history, culture and people of Hawaii! However if you want to enter the picnic area where there are bathrooms, you will need to pay an entrance fee if you don't have a Hawaii Driver's License or ID. This is only for the State Park area off Nutridge Street. Otherwise, everywhere else is free. Make sure to take those corners slow on Round Top Drive. Don't speed, there have been many accidents because people took the turns too quickly. Enjoy the beautiful views!!

I found Kapua Wa'a Experiences online and booked a tour for my wife and I. Kekoa Kekumano was an excellent guide and everything was exactly as advertised. As a bonus Kekoa added enriching cultural information about the location we were surfing and the practice of outrigger canoe surfing itself. The one hour tour was thrilling and a bit of a workout with the payoff being long (90+ second) rides from the outside all the way in to the breakwalls beneath Diamond Head. I couldn't recommend a more friendly and exhilarating experience for someone looking for a little adventure and cultural connection.

They were friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. One of our friends was a little nervous about diving into the open ocean because of sharks, but Joanna and Ali were so reassuring and accommodating that everyone felt safe and excited. Within about 30 minutes, we found ourselves in front of a pod of bottlenose dolphins and got the incredible opportunity to swim with them--at least 20 in total! The dolphins were playful and curious, making it an experience we'll never forget. After the dolphins, we snorkeled in a stunning spot and even swam with turtles. The kids were thrilled, and the entire group was amazed at the marine life and the crystal-clear water. The crew made the day seamless, fun, and memorable for everyone, from the youngest to the adults. We couldn't recommend Aloha Ocean more for anyone looking for a truly special Hawaiian adventure. I found him through TripAdvisor when I was seaching for a private circle tour. We were a group of two, and I wanted something small, custom and personal, over an impersonal group tour. If you are looking for the same, Dan is your man. Booking through the external sites is easy, but I recommend calling Dan and booking through him directly. He is polite and prompt in his service. He has a fleet of three vehicles: two jeeps and a van. We took a tour in one of his Jeeps. We scheduled a pickup at our Waikiki Beach hotel the day before. He picked us up promptly at 7am for our tour on the scheduled day. He was very professional, fun and a great conversationalist. He took us to some very beautiful spots of places with names I have trouble pronouncing. He will point out the spots of simple beauty, but also take you to places you never knew you needed to visit. Every place he goes, he has a story or experience there. He seems to know everyone, which makes your tour very efficient. He also adjusts your tour's pace to you, and you will never feel rushed. Some of the lookouts and beaches were so breathtaking. The Pipeline Beach area is a must. You would think places like that do not exist, but WOW. Even if you are not a surf fan, you will appreciate a stop there. The restaurants he takes you to are great! We stopped at Fumi's and Aoki's and I was impressed by both. The shopping area we went to on the North Shore was nice. Lots of photo ops, and Dan will even show you some filming locations from movies and tv shows. We got lucky and even saw quite a few whales during our tour! Overall, this is probably one of the best private tours I have been on in all my years of traveling.
