We booked this cacao tour as it looked really interesting and I was down to learn more about the health benefits cacao can provide you. My mistake was that I came to the tour hungry and was expecting much more during the tasting. In my famished mind, I was expecting to gorge on chocolate like Charlie and the Chocolate factory, but instead I nibbled on six samples of chocolate bars and nibs. The tour itself was pretty informative and opened my eyes to the science and history of cacao. We had a fill in tour guide and he was more scientist than tour leader as he lost most of us with his scientific tangents. All good, I was happy at the end when we were able to buy some chocolate bars and feed my stomach with some great sweets

21 Degrees Estate produces truly excellent chocolate. The farm is clearly a labor of love, and the quality speaks for itself in every bite. But the tour? Most of the actual learning about chocolate happens right before the tasting, when the owner opens a cacao pod and walks you through how it becomes what we know as a chocolate bar. That moment was by far my favorite, tactile, informative, and genuinely interesting. The rest of the time, which makes up the vast majority of the tour, is spent standing and listening to personal stories and non-chocolate-related operational details. The speaker is kind and clearly passionate, but not a natural storyteller. It felt more like something to get through before tasting the chocolate than something to enjoy. Dark chocolate dominates the tasting, which some kids might not love. Milk chocolate is available in the shop but it is not part of the tasting, a small detail worth knowing if you're visiting with family. Bottom line: the chocolate is absolutely worth trying. Stop in, grab a few bars, and support a farm doing thoughtful, high quality work. But knowing what we know now, we would skip the tour.

11/10, so fun! The people were amazing. Michael and Maria, the owners of the farm, gave us the tour and were the best. So knowledgeable, and it's so much more than just chocolate you learn about beekeeping, ginger, goats, tea, and so much more. Thanks for having us, highly recommend!

We found this place on social media, and it was da best! Michael and Maria gave a personal touch to their cacao farm, providing excellent knowledge and tidbits of information. They really embraced the new experience and discussed the learning curve for their project. The beehives were interesting, and the backdrop of the Ko'olaus made it a surreal experience. Honey and chocolate on Oahu...who knew? These are somewhat newer agricultural additions to Oahu, and it was nice to see a new resource become available. I definitely learned a lot and would recommend it to those who want to learn more about Oahu, agriculture, chocolate, honey, and how having a dream and making it work takes hard work!

If you're looking for an authentic, one-of-a-kind experience in Oahu, look no further. 21 Degrees Estate is so much more than a cacao farm tour--it's a deep dive into the heart (and flavor!) of chocolate, honey, and Hawaiian hospitality. We took the cacao farm tour, and the owner Mike personally guided us around the estate. He didn't just stick to cacao--he even showed us their bees, explained in detail how honey is harvested, and then walked us through how cacao is grown and harvested. I loved how hands-on and educational it was without ever feeling rushed. You can tell he's deeply passionate about what he does. The tasting itself was such a delight!! We sampled a variety of chocolates, each with its own unique notes, and Mike explained the process behind each step of making chocolate--from bean to bar. It really makes you appreciate every bite. As if that wasn't enough, he also handed out complimentary face oils made by his wife. I've been using mine at night and my skin has never looked smoother. Such a thoughtful and sweet touch to the experience! The whole experience felt authentic, personal, and special--worlds away from the cookie-cutter tours you sometimes find on the island. Gorgeous setting, passionate hosts, and of course, incredible chocolate.

My wife loves chocolate, so we decided to check out the Cacao farm tour on the North Shore. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner Maria, and her beautiful pup Koda. Maria and Michael were fun and engaging with our tour group, they have done an incredible job with maintaining and growing their Cacao farm over the past decade. They gave us a tour of the farm, including the very cool beekeeping areas, and showed us the end-to-end process of how the cacao beans become chocolate. We lucked out with some great weather, as there had been some heavy storms over the past few weeks. At the end of the tour, we were able to sample different variations of their chocolates, all in all it was very informative and a fun experience! Best, Charlie

I had a fantastic time learning about cacao from Maria and Michael, co-owners, of this farm. They were both full of knowledge and very engaging. Be ready for Michael's "dad jokes", they may be the best part of the show!! I was here on a tour with my friend from high school and her husband and kids. We were both born and raised here but relocated after college to the mainland. However, like a lot of kama'aina do, we come back to visit family for the holidays. . Getting here may feel a little questionable, even with their personalized directions. You drive a bit into the mouth of Waihe'e Valley from Kamehameha Highway. There's not a lot of signage or obviously displayed addresses along the winding road. If you're a tourist, you might want to practice reading Hawaiian street signs. I was born and raised here, i can read them, I can imagine many rental cars stopping at all the signs going, WTF?!?! When you find the entrance to the property, continue up the dirt road, past the small huts & shacks to the dirt parking area. Once parked, you stroll back down to the hut where they'll roll call and share their knowledge. There's a short walking part of the tour that takes you into the cacao grove and to the lower be hive. Along the way you will find many, many, many "canoe crop" fruits and plants like breadfruit, mountain apple, lychee and many more! This all comes to a glorious end with the chocolate and honey tasting. If you're counting calories, don't worry, they told me single origin chocolate is healthy, eat up!!! Don't worry, there's a little shack with chocolate, honey and merch for purchase so you can spread the aloha from 21 Degrees Estates.

If you're on Oahu and want an unforgettable, truly local experience, 21 Degrees Estate is a must-visit! From the moment we drove up the lush, green hillside, we knew we'd found a hidden gem. The hosts are warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do--sharing the fascinating journey of cacao from tree to chocolate bar. The farm tour is a perfect balance of education and fun. You stroll through a gorgeous orchard learning about sustainable farming, see cacao pods growing right on the trees, and even meet some adorable goats that happily greet you. The views alone are worth the trip, rolling hills, tropical greenery, and that soft Hawaiian breeze. And then there's the chocolate... Oh my goodness. And the chocolate popsicles!! Each tasting was a revelation, rich, complex, and made right there on the farm. You can taste the love, care, and craftsmanship in every bite. It's easily some of the best chocolate I've ever had, anywhere in the world. This is not a tourist trap; it's an authentic, intimate, and uplifting experience run by people who truly care about their land, their product, and their guests. Highly recommend booking in advance, you won't regret it!

Best farm experience ever!! Were a little hesitant at first due to the price but worth every penny.

how this place has a 5-star rating is confusing. the only positives: goats were cute, scenery is beautiful, husky was cute (but looked miserable) everything else was a horrible experience. the owner speaks with the passion of an old-school, used car salesman the "farm tour" is more a driveway tour. we walked down and back up the driveway he yapped for 1 hour about the bees, but he's not an expert on the subject. in the end, he tells us the bees don't pollinate the cocoa. HE SPENT AN HOUR YAPPING ABOUT BEES ON A CACAO TOUR AND THE BEES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CACAO we paid $24 for our 3 year old. for $24, she did not receive samples. we shared our scant samples with her. what kind of greedy establishment charges a 3 year old $24 for a 3-hour lecture on honeybees and cocoa and no samples? $70 per adult and the total amount of chocolate scraps they give as samples is equivalent to a fun-sized hersheys. during sampling, we passed down the sample trays for the people in the back. they were short a tray so our party asked for one more tray. his immediate response was, "oh, you want to buy an extra tray?" no michael, we already paid for the scraps you're serving everyone. we just want our share of scraps. if i remember correctly, 2 of the 5 pieces of chocolate scraps are NOT chocolates they produce. he literally read the characteristics of those chocolates off the label - like an amateur. this tour was a complete waste of time and money

This was an AMAZING Tour, from the baby goats, to walking around the property. The chocolate tasting was delicious!! And don't forget to buy all the things at the little store before you leave!

For our first official family trip to Oahu, I wanted to make sure we spent some time away from Waikiki and immersed ourselves more in some of Hawaii's agriculture. This was a highlight of our trip! Maria and Michael were both informative and encouraging of questions regarding Hawaiian agriculture, bees, and of course, cacao. The 2.5 hour tour consisted of exploring the farm, learning about native and invasive plants, and cacao growing and tasting. It was a wonderful experience and we definitely learned a surprising amount! The chocolate here was great and by far 4 &6 seemed to be a crowd favorite. We bought a couple bars and a bag of nibs. We also recommend the chocolate pop bar. These are available to order online. Koda, their 3-year-old mascot, and their two goats were great company and kept catching my attention! I look forward to seeing their chocolate at some future competitions and highly recommend this to those that want a more enriching experience of Oahu. Restrooms- One outhouse near parking. Feel free to use whenever during the tour.

By far, Captain Travis and First Mate Taylor were exceptional, leaving no detail to chance. We were warmly greeted with a drink and were given a very thorough safety briefing. Both were meticulous in their duties to their craft as well as to their guests. The catamaran was immaculate, an outstanding demonstration of the care and maintenance it receives - impressive for a 2008 Cat. Thanks MANA and crews for your care and concern. We had only 5 of us aboard ( they allow a maximum of only 6) which really enhanced the experience. As we got underway drinks were served and then came what I thought was going to be a sampling of local snacks. No, it was a full dinner made by Taylor that was some of the freshest, best food we have had on the Island, followed by a dessert second to none.
