If you ever need root canal see Dr. Shaikh at Hawaii Endodontics. My first visit was back in 2017 and 2019. He does very good job on root canal and always he explains what he needs to do. He is very caring and very gentle. Plus he is not one of the Dr. Who would just do root canal to make money. He will take X-ray and give you his honest opinion.. I trust him because after he did my root canal that tooth wasn't bother me anymore. When I changed my Dentist they referred me to different Dr. Endodontist. I went to 2 different Endodontist but out of the three I like Dr. Shaikh the best.. He is friendly, gentle and very caring. He understands that you are in pain.. He make sure you feel comfortable.. While they doing root canal they check on me many times. They even told me if I feel any pain raise my left hand. The other Endodontist I went before while they working on your root canal they didn't bother to ask me if I was ok. They was too busy talking story. Plus he has very nice friendly staff too. His staff name is Brye, Chanene, Joan, Queeny. Plus waiting room is very clean n nice arts on the wall. I will definitely come back if I need root canal and I would definitely referrals to my family and friends.

Just in case you'all didn't see this. lol.

I had 2 root canals scheduled here with Dr Kevin and was reluctant to go just because I never had it done before and from what I knew about this procedure, would be awful. So , I go in with the anticipation that it would be "Little Shop of Horrors" you know, that movie back in the late 80's with Steve Martin because I was in pain because I had to get a refferal and that took 2 to 3 weeks. So they scheduled 1 to be done 1 week and the next the following week. The first one was like an hour long procedure and was expecting to be in pain the next day. I woke up and the pain from the infection was gone and didn't need any kind of painkillers. Thought it was a fluke. I accidentally missed the 2nd appointment due to me getting sick. Thought I'd get charged the 75.00 no show fee and ended up forgetting about it until the 2nd tooth started hurting bad. So I called expecting not to get another appointment for another month or so. Nope, they took me the next day and waved the 75 dollar. This procedure took 20 mins longer but still had the same dentist and again, woke up the next day without any need of any painkillers. I highly recommend Dr Kevin and the dental assistant Jerry were super good.

My dentist said it would only get worse, so he referred me to Endo Specialists. I called and they were able to bring me in right a away, that day. I called around 9am and was able to get an emergency appointment at 12. My specialist was Dr. Patrick Munley. He made me feel at ease and attempted to calm my worries. He explained the whole procedure to me before hand. Even with the numbing injection, which is the supposedly the sorest/hardest part of the procedure, I didn't feel a thing, because of the way he did it. He put pressure with his hand in the area of where the needle went so you felt pressure more than the needle itself. The root canal itself took about an hour, but I didn't feel feel a thing. He allows you to stop if you need to, and tells u what they are doing and keeps you in the loop of how much time you have left. I was so shocked and relieved how easy the whole procedure was. All these horror stories of root canals, and my experience was a breeze! He offered his business card and written cell phone number in case I had any questions during non office hours. He called me the next day as well, as a courtesy follow up, to ask how I was doing and if I had any other questions - I don't know how much Dr's now days take the time to call their patients. If you are in dire need of an important/emergency dental procedure, I would highly recommend their office!

I searched and found Hawaii Endodontics and another dental office. After reading Yelp reviews, I decided to go with Hawaii Endodontics. I was able to get an appt with Dr Chong the next working day. I arrived, filled some forms, and was called back soon after for X-rays, etc. After explaining what was going on and explaining the procedure, we agreed to move forward. He did a great job fixing my tooth! He and his assistant Emily moved together smoothly and finished in less than an hour. No pain during the procedure with some expected soreness later in the day. Now I can go back to vacation!! ------------ Two notes: 1) Parking garage was very full - I had to park on the top floor. 2) There were two things they recommended for my case that were not covered by insurance. They clearly explained this and asked if I wanted to use them before proceeding. I chose to proceed with both Thanks again Dr Chong!!

Even though we have a regular dentist, he wanted to get a 2nd opinion from an oral surgeon. Dr Emily is not an oral surgeon but he needed to see her first to get the referral. This dental office is located in the Aiea Medical building on Aiea Heights Drive right across the street from McDonald's/Aiea Shopping Center. For those of you who live in the area, you know what a bear it is to get into the parking lot & leave off busy Aiea Heights Drive. The parking lot is not very big & if that is full, there are more spaces in the building, but not a lot more. I've heard that parking is expensive here & sure enough, the sign by the parking ticket dispenser shows it's free for the first 1/2 hr & $2 for each 1/2 hr after that. Luckily since our appointment was early, when we pulled in, we found parking right away. Parking spaces are a little tight. When you leave, there's a cashier/lot attendant just around the corner from the elevator where you pay then head to your parked car. You will need the paid ticket to exit to insert in the machine. Once it's confirmed, the arm raises, & then you can exit but you have to pay first before you leave your parking spot. The dental office is on the 2nd floor. Small, but a neat waiting area with a TV. We completed some paperwork & waited just a few minutes before we were called in. Personnel were nice & efficient, not overly friendly, but pleasant. Shortly after we were seated, Dr Emily came in. She grew up here locally. My hubby discussed with her why he was there. Dr Emily was friendly, easy to talk to & listened carefully to my hubby's concerns. She was down to earth & seemed to genuinely care, even though he was not a regular patient. She asked some pointed questions & offered solutions & to make some calls on my hubby's behalf. I found that so reassuring that she would go above & beyond for us. From the time we got there until the time we left, 1 1/2 hrs had passed, most of the time talking with the dr. What I appreciated was, she didn't rush us & even answered some questions I had. We don't know if she had other appts after us, I'm sure she did for when we left, the waiting area was full. But the fact that she didn't rush us just to get to the next patient, impressed me. This was probably the only time we'll see her, but if I needed to go to another dentist in the future, she'd be at the top of the list. We appreciated her time, kudos to you Dr Emily Iyomasa & your staff. Two things that would prevent me from going back are - they do not validate for parking & that they charge a $56 cancellation fee if it is outside of 48 hrs - wow! The first time you cancel, they give you a pass because they understand unexpected stuff happens but then that's it. They make you sign a form so that you are aware of this. Parking cost us $4 for 1 1/2 hrs, not as bad as I thought.

No one really wants to come to a dentist, let alone a dental specialist?…read more You hate to admit you need one when your tooth acts up and it pains you. Enter Honolulu Endodontics. Specifically, Dr. Ishikawa. Bottom line, quality care here. Yes, you will pay a lot on the day of your procedure. I guess the old adage is correct here, you get what you pay for. Especially, if you need something called the "Cone Beam CT Limited & 1". I was informed that dental insurance does not cover it, but you need to obtain the X-ray in order to proceed with the dental care I needed here. X-ray cost out of pocket is $260! Add the Consultation fee $116.90! Yowzaa! It does add up quickly. Then there is still the deductible, State taxes, and my copayment I'll need to cover. The office will go over your estimated payment prior to the procedure so be ready with $$$$. My dentist recommended that I see Dr. Ishikawa. He has a great chair side manner and Chastity, his dental assistant today, was equally as nice. Dr. Ishikawa does a great job of showing you and informing you of what dental work needs to be done. Dr. Ishikawa is also skilled at numbing your area that needs to be worked on. That's a definite plus in my "less pain is always better" philosophy. There's a follow up appointment in a few weeks. Hopefully, all will be good. I'll also need to follow up with my dentist. I see more $$$$ flying out in the near future. I keep telling myself it's self care! To have healthy teeth is to be healthy... right? There is paid parking in the Hale Pawaa building. I didn't ask if the office validated, as I was dropped off for my appointment. Bathrooms are available outside of the office. You need to request a code or key for access. What an experience.
