Needing a root canal but fearful, more fearful of the excruciating tooth pain lessened with Tylenol. I was immediately put at ease by Dr Adam Inaba and asst. Channing by their friendly, kind banter and their excellent care, expert service and patience, more than once I got confused and tried to breath through my mouth and they kindly repeated breath through nose. My breathing calmed. Here it is the next day, I'm free of tooth pain! I am so happy! My last Tylenol was 6:30 last night! I know I will continue this review after everything is done in a couple weeks, permanent filling & crown! Thank you so much Dr Adam & Channing! Not only are you honoring your family legacy in this 3rd generation business with your skills and kindness, you are also honoring your years of higher learning and your oaths. And Thank you to all staff I interacted with, I didn't get the names of the front desk but they were awesome! Greeting me with smiles and politeness! Continued success to your business! I needed a root canal and they were booked but knew I was in pain and the guy on the phone was able to fit me in. His phone etiquette was pleasant. When I walked in the girl at the front was friendly and so was the entire staff. Dr Adam Inaba made me feel comfortable and helped calm my nerves while doing the procedure. The quality of service was 10 stars. read more

What an amazing experience from Dr. Andrew Inaba and his team! He was very accommodating in assessing the situation and fitting in my dad for an emergency root canal when our primary general dentist was having challenges getting us in with a specialist within a reasonable time. Dr. Andrew Inaba was extremely professional, efficient and most importantly, caring. His entire staff was on top of their game, which also made the experience feel comfortable. I don't think I've seen my dad come out of the dentist office happier, let alone after a root canal procedure. Highly recommend. Mahalo to Dr. Andrew Inaba and team! read more

My dentist referred me to Dr. Andrew Inaba for root canal consultation. They have two locations Westridge right next to Central Pacific Bank and Ala Moana location the popular building with Bank of Hawaii at the bottom floor near the Ala Moana Center. My consultation was at Ala Moana but the root canal treatment was at Westridge. This was also during hectic holiday season but staff was very accommodating and professional with the appointments. Dr. Inaba was thorough and asked me if I had any questions. His assistant was also very caring and helpful. During my consultation, I also received estimate of what would be my share of payment after the insurance coverage. I find that helpful because then it's not a surprise and you can be prepared. read more

I had a root canal completed in the summer of 2023. Procedure went great, staff were great but the payment system that they use is obsolete and sounds like a scam. Fast forward to Nov/Dec 2023, I get a letter in the mail stating that I have to pay $700 as soon as possible or else it'll go to collections. I paid a copay at the day of my visit and thought everything was okay since 5 months went by since my appointment. NOPE! I call them and they immediately ask how I want to pay. I'm not rich and can't drop $700 on the spot so I spoke to the manager, Mariam/MaryAnn, and explained that there was an HDS maximum that I reached and they only now, 5 months later, found out about. Mind you, it's Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years time! But you know what, I believe it and we set up a payment plan from Jan - April 2024. They've taken out the Jan to March payments without issue and on time so I don't think to check if the last payment was taken out. Now it's June, 2 months later, and they call to tell me that there's another error in their system showing that my last and final payment wasn't taken out in April! So they charge me, without warning and as soon as they find it, WITHOUT getting a hold of me over the phone! It would've been nice if they sent a letter or if they waited for me to call back to confirm that it was okay, or at least gave some leniency as I didn't expect another money issue on their part to happen AGAIN! Yes, I did speak to Mariam/MaryAnn and I explained my frustration but she said, "When can you make the payment?" I was fuming! They already took out the money from my account and explained earlier that they can't reverse it! I was so angry that I didn't know what to say. She hung up on me after that. That shows that they're only doing it for the money and they don't care about the patients! Steer clear of these scammers! read more

This was my second root canal with Endodontic Associates, and It was a good experience. I do not like pain, but for me the injection of the pain killer was the worst part of the root canal (just a pinch). Dr. Andrew Inaba, his assistant were very pleasant and completed the procedure in a short time. The staff very pleasant too. Thank you for making a normally dreadful experience comfortable. read more

Just hearing root canal sounds scary especially for a child, but the procedure went through smoothly. I was referred by Cindy Kobota due to having a tooth abscess that got bad. Adam Inaba took care of my case. He was very thorough when explaining the procedure and showing what caused tooth abscess. Root canal was scheduled for the end of April. April came along and it was day of the procedure. Inaba first applied lidocaine to my gum so I would not feel the pain. Next he removed the cap (top part of tooth) of the infected tooth. Cleaning out the bacteria from inside the tooth took the most time. After cleaning out the bacteria, he applied a temporary cap until I see my dentist Cindy to insert a permanent cap. He took good care of me until the procedure was completed. I was advised by Inaba that I must do several follow up appointments ( 6 month,1 year, and 1 year and half) to make sure my tooth healing. Just recently went for my 6 month follow up appointment and luckily it took 5 mins to get my check up. The x-rays were done and showed my tooth healed very nicely, but must continue to do good oral care and watch out. Inaba and the staff at Endodontic Associates were professional and friendly. They send out text messages and emails to confirm the appointment time. They are great at following up. For anyone who needs to have a root canal procedure done, get a referral from your dentist. read more

My mother needed an emergency root canal and was in excruciating pain. Not many Doctors were taking new patient emergencies with the average wait time of 2-3 weeks, but Endodontic Associates took mom in. This kind gesture was not apparent until I realized we were the last in the medical building that day. I thank the Team at Endodontic Associates for the late day to satisfy a grateful patient. Our family will always consider Endodontic Associates first when deliberating outstanding treatment versus geographical convenience! COVID Compliance - The office environment was well organized and took all precautions mandated by Federal and State guidelines. Office Staff - These ladies are hard working and precise in what they do. Meticulous detail in patient administration and processing, but most of all astute professionals with the warm charm of Aloha. Patient Online Enrollment - I was impressed with the online forms and the ability to upload all necessary documents to keep the office wait time to a minimum. Of course, this premium feature is HIPPA compliant and incorporates encrypted data transmission. You can feel safe that your data remains confidential. Doctor - Dr Adam Inaba made his patients feel like you were a part of his family, extremely cordial and gave the same advice he would give to his own grandmother. Ouch ouch ouch I cracked another tooth *sobs*. The pain was so intense I was curled up into a ball, trying desperately to fall asleep so I wouldn't feel the throbbing pain spread throughout the right side of my mouth. This morning I called my endodontist Dr. Nobuhara and begged him to see me early. Even though he was fully booked, he let me come in this morning. Although he didn't have time to do a root canal, he shaved down my tooth and cleaned out the pulp. It's been several hours, the anesthetic has worn off, and I'm not crying in horrible pain. I have to wait 2 weeks until my next appointment, but he is trying to save my tooth and I'm extremely grateful. Thank you to Dr. Nobuhara and your wonderful staff. read more

5 stars for the best staff ever. Not even in regards to what they do here, but in general. This office is Full of kind hearted and wonderful people. From the front desk girls even down to the doctors and the assistant that helped with my procedure. When I was pregnant two years ago I had chipped one of my molars chewing ice. I never got it fixed because I was always scared. A week ago I had chipped the same tooth but this time even worse. After seeing my dentist my dentist recommended that I get a root canal. So she referred me over to endodontic Associates. I've had a root canal with them in the past before I was pregnant. The reason I say that is because after I gave birth, my anxiety got really bad. I've had anxiety prior to being pregnant, but having a baby really changes you in some of the craziest ways. I already knew that I would be extremely nervous for this appointment so I had planned to possibly take an anti-anxiety medication that I'm given to take as needed. This was definitely one of those moments where it was needed LOL. I really wish I could remember the name of the assistant who was helping Dr. Haga, but I was so wrapped up in my fear that I forgot when she told me. AnyWho, from the beginning she was nothing but helpful, kind, compassionate, and completely understanding. One of the biggest things about my anxiety, is that I am extremely embarrassed by it. Especially being that I am a grown adult who's afraid of the dentist LOL. I explained to her and doc that I needed to take the medication and they said it was no problem. They gave me a few minutes to gather myself and take my medication and kind of calm down. They were able to get me settled in and numbed up, but while they were letting the numbing medication settle in I got a huge overwhelming sensation of fear and panic. I definitely was embarrased, but I was extremely open to both of them. The response they gave me was so genuine and so kind that it really helped put me at ease. They gave me a few moments to gather myself and just reassured me that I would be OK and that they totally understand and whatever I decide is on me. I have to say I was pretty embarrassed LOL because here I am already numbed up considering actually leaving the appointment to schedule with another Doctor Who would be able to provide some sort of anesthetic during the procedure. However, due to the kindness and the patience of the doctor and the assistant, I was able to get through it and pretty quickly. They were so kind even during the procedure and never once made me feel embarrassed, or stupid, or like I'm being a burden to them. Once I was done and I went to check out you would've thought that I would've had that feeling like they're all going to talk about a grown woman who just had a little panic attack in the office, but I never had that sense of feeling. If you need a root canal I highly recommend to come here for the staff and for the quick and good work that they do. Thank you again so much everyone at endodontic Associates. You have no idea how helpful you were to me today. read more

This is the best dental experience of my life. I am very uncomfortable with dentistry. I do my annual exams and recently had a small cavity to address in which I did reluctantly in SC. Here in Hawaii....from start--reception desk--to finish--root canal done, I had a wonderful experience. Kanoe was an exceptional assistant--made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Adam Inabe was kind, gentle. I can almost say, I didn't feel a thing. All my dental fears are finally put to rest. Thank you Staff for being so kind, patient, warm and welcoming. You ever heard of the saying, "I'd rather have a root canal".... well with Endodontic Associates, their staff & Dr Haga, this is all too true. I had my first root canal back in 2003 and I was terrified that it was gonna be a painful experience. Boy was I surprised...other than the shot of Novocain, I didn't feel a thing... and before I knew it, it was all done...In fact, it gave me time to take a nap LOL So, if you're ever in the need for a root canal to be done, give Endodontics Associates a call. You won't be disappointed. read more

All my worries about doing a root canal during a pandemic, were swept away as soon as I parked my car. I called the office, and was told I could choose to wait in the 2nd floor lobby, since there was one other in their office waiting area. In two minutes, Kanoe came to escort me to my waiting chair. She asked the required health questions and took my temperature. Everyone wore masks, but I could see their eyes smiling to greet me. Dr. Andrew, came in and soothed my anticipations about the procedure. It was actually a nice social conversation with Kanoe and Dr. Andrew. From the time I walked in until I walked out, was one hour. And, I'm feeling great today! And it doesn't hurt that there office is new! Beautiful and clean! read more

A very friendly and professional staff. Went in for 2 root canals, it went very smoothly and no complications to date.

Great experience! Starting from scheduling during my 6 month check up with my family dentist she informed me I needed a root canal and me knowing how referrals work and the time it takes for a provider to review them I assumed I'd have to wait 2-3 weeks. No the day I seen my family dentist I already had a appointment scheduled an hour later with Endodontic Associates I did have to reschedule due prior obligations, but the office called me immediately and worked that out with me. Word had got around in my family that I needed to have a root canal done-__- and leave it to my family to tell me horror stories about root canals and trying to convince me that I should just have my tooth extracted. But the staff were so awesome they reassured me that I would not feel a thing and they were right. I didn't even feel the anesthesia and I had my ear phones in playing my music, I thought I was going to fall asleep while they were drilling my tooth. They were amazing I definitely recommend them. I hope I don't have to return but if I ever needed to this would be my go to place. read more

Dr. Adam Inaba and his team are very competent and make you feel comfortable. He very communicative and friendly.

Root canals conjure scary scenarios of pain, discomfort, and helplessness. But thanks to Endodontic Associates, that couldn't be further from the truth. A root canal does not need to be a painful and unpleasant experience. The staff is friendly and keeps you informed about your appointment. This approach to their services put me at ease so I had an idea of what my experience would be going in. This was my first time getting dental work where I did not experience any pain during the procedure. It was truly a sign of a competent and skilled endodontist. read more

Imaging looking forward to a root canal. This practice is *that* good. My third root canal in 7 years and, when I knew I'd have to bear an extra day of tooth pain to wait for them to reopen Friday, (Closed Thursdays) I was completely ready to do it. Dr. Haga did my first two and I was hoping he'd be available. He and his assistant operated like a well choreographed ballet. Gentle, gentle, gentle and oh so comforting and competent. Couldn't believe that someone else had mastered that great communication and beautiful flow of movement. I was a little disappointed to hear he'd be gone until Mon. Decided his practice *must* have others very capable, as well because, just going in, you know they've got it going on to take great care of patients. Doctor Gurney, who fixed my cracked molar, completely validated that confidence today. Again, Dr. and assistant worked as a well-practiced team with quick but gentle, fluid movements and soothing, frequent checks my comfort. Awesome chair side manner!!! No pain, at all, and not even any discomfort. They wouldn't promise that for everyone, I'm sure. I'm also sure you wouldn't find anybody better anywhere. They're very thorough on the checking in and after-care so any questions are answered and future needs anticipated and taken care of. The whole office staff is wonderfully efficient and kind, as well. Now, if I can just refrain from grinding my teeth in my Middle School periods 4 and 7... ;^D read more

Dr. Nobuhara was amazing. His energy was so calm and soothing, which helped the process to seem like a minor dental procedure (which having a root canal is not). This was my second root canal with Endodontic Associates. My first experience was with Dr. Adam Inaba, who was also amazing (he was booked up, which made me nervous to try someone new), but Dr. Nobuhara's calm energy, professionalism, and patience really impressed me. He surfs on his free time, which likely helps his energy, as the ocean is extremely cleansing. I also found their office staff to be extremely helpful and caring, which helps when you are calling to schedule appointments. I highly recommend Endodontic Associates for anyone needing a root canal. Their team is impressive. read more

Root canals always seem so terrifying & initially it immediately made me think of being in a lot of pain. Being in the dental industry because of my job, I became aware of this place because we refer some our patients to their office. Personally, I was a patient of Dr Ichimura & he referred me to Dr Adam Inaba for my abscessed tooth. I've had a root canal done before, but I remember it being the most excruciating teeth pain I've ever experienced. I had it done at Hawaii Family Dental previously. Surprisingly, this time around & at this place, it didn't hurt one bit. I think it took about 40-50min or so to complete, but I was at ease and comfort the entire time. I was also completely impressed with the intelligence & professionalism Dr Inaba had, especially for someone so young. The appointment I had was a breeze & of course once the numbing wore off, there was some pain that came about but it was tolerable enough for me to still bake & do other strenuous tasks at my second job. It's overall no biggie tho.. which still leaves me so impressed. Also, I do want to note that the interior is very nice & furnished very well. The receptionist & dental assistant were also very pleasant & friendly. If I encounter any patients or people I know personally who need to see an endo specialist, I'll definitely recommend Dr Inaba & encourage them to have their general dentist refer them to him! read more

The office was super friendly and the staff had great working dynamics with each other. I didn't realize the young guy who called me in and took my temperature (COVID-19 screening) was my dentist. The time Dr. Adam Inabe took to explain his findings and recommendations was very appreciated. I didn't feel pressured in any way. With my long history of dental works, I dread numbing injections. What I received was the least painless I've experienced. The parking payment was confusing. The flat rate applied only if paid BEFORE the appointment on the kiosks or at the time of exiting the garage. read more

Dr. Haga is a magician. Had a cold pain next to my implant. My normal dentist said must be due to the implant to high so he grind it down some. No cure for same cold pain for months. Dr. Haga examined me and found a crack on the inside of tooth 2. Recommended a root canal to save the tooth but said eventually may need to pull it out. Pain free and can go back to normal life almost. Need to put a crown on next. Mahalo Dr. Haga!!! read more

I rarely write reviews unless they make me do it for a discount or they write off a service after a 5-star review (which I'm sure is illegal) BUT...After leaving Dr. Drew's office yesterday, I knew I had to thank them in a special way and what better way than to write a review/referral I am in the dental field myself, and have had numerous work done on my teeth; so I think it merits me in saying that they are one of the best! I've been to other endodontists, you can't beat Dr. Drew and staff's customer service/friendliness and not to mention genuineness (which is rare today). You feel at ease when you're in the chair, especially when you notice the staff seems so close and work very well together. The vibe from when you walk in, you just know you'll leave with a positive experience. This is my 3rd root canal treatment with Dr. Drew and post-op has been good and successful. Hoping I won't need anymore, but I wouldn't go anywhere else for endo. I recommend people to them any day. Others I've referred to the Inaba's had similar experiences. If you're looking for an up-to-date office, a doctor that can be efficient and still hummm to a tune (that's important to me because it tells me he's comfortable in what he's doing and has done this a million times), and an office where you get some genuine customer service, then this is the place for you! Thank you Dr. Drew and staff for taking care of me! You guys are the best read more
