Is one reason that we need imagine and this is using x-ray as my ankle has been through so much that the doctor wanted to see how things are affected if any and since the Queen's Island Urgent Care doesn't have imagine at its facility I was directed to this location at the Queen's POB 3 (Physician Office Building) and it's located on the busy corner fronting the main hospital. Parking entrance is on Lauhala Street and is automated but Imaging does validate so getting there is fast and easy. Access through the lobby is available a couple of ways...stairs which is very clear and obvious though the elevator wasn't for me as this was my first time and is a very specific one to take as the standard ones that take you to the offices above don't go to imagine so you need to look past that as there's a sign that will tell you this which I missed unfortunately and took the stairs that was quite the struggle. The staff there is so polite and professional as they asked questions and process me for my appointment so fast and efficiently I was done very fast and got on my ways with ease. Love coming here as the process was very simple and easy along with lots of parking making it less painful to get it done. Thank you!

Medical Assistant receptionist mentioned that if you want 3D mammogram that it will cost $75.00 not covered by medical insurance. Jean who is the technician for mammogram is the only one who does it. She mentioned that another technician does the other service.

I experienced light pain, but nurse was supportive, and gave me a warm compress for belly! This imaging experience was an all around horrible experience…read more The bedside service was extremely poor: from the doctor laughing when I asked about the issues I was having, replying "I would be happy to lose my period." Mind you I had lost my period as the result of a sickness that she was well aware of (the reason for the appointment). The procedure was done by a tech not the doctor, when the doctor came it for the "exam portion" (less than 3 minutes) and I proceeded to ask her questions about the issue. She excused herself before I finished asking my questions and never returned to the room. No "bye" just left the room. Prior to going into the appointment I had asked about the exam and procedure cost. From there I shared my insurance and was given a quote. Upon receiving the bill I found 2 procedures were done, one of which I didn't know they were going to do and had not been quoted. The balance on the bill was 3x more than the price quoted. When I called the office to ask about the price difference they stated: they didn't have record of the information shared with me at the appointment and therefore couldn't tell me why they didn't share the 2 procedures or the price difference. In addition, in order to receive the ultrasounds they can't be downloaded or email but can only give via CD disk which they charge an additional $5 for. So you, the patient, then has to go track down a CD reader to then upload their files. Because apparently this Dr's office is still in the 90's

The area is clean, the service was fast and our phlebotomist was kind and gentle with my 10 month old. She even started making all kinds of animal noises to distract her when she was collecting the blood specimen. The icing on the cake was running the test as soon as she collected it to make sure we didn't need to redraw. Such a thoughtful gesture.

Then my cardiologist informed me that the last time I took tests was ten years ago, so I was due for them. Luckily, I don't have heart conditions that require immediate attention. But let's face it, I'm getting older, and knowing that I have a cardiologist and an internist on my health care team who are genuinely concerned with my health is reassuring. My cardiologist's office put in their test requisitions for me, and I contacted Queen's Heart to set up my appointments. Fortunately, I could schedule two out of the three tests for this month. The schedulers at Queen's Heart are friendly and very accommodating. Today, I met with a sonographer, Martin T, RDCS, who administered the ultrasonic electrocardiogram. I admit that I was nervous about taking this test because my blood pressure was elevated, but Martin put my nervousness at ease with his professionalism and excellent communication skills. He was reassuring that I didn't need to worry and follow his instructions so he could get the best images of my heart and surrounding areas for medical interpretation. Martin advised me to access the test results on my digital medical records, MyChart. From scheduling and reception to test administration and results interpretation at the Queen's Heart Institute, I received personable, professional, and highly skilled care. My cardiologist was also very quick in responding to his review of the test results. I heartily recommend the Queen's Heart Institute for cardiovascular medicine, surgical care, and diagnostic testing. This clinic is conveniently located on the third floor in the Pauahi Tower at Queen's Medical Center - Punchbowl.

It does make it less sucky when the staff you're dealing with are friendly and know what they're doing though, every time I've been here I've always had a positive experience. They have quite a few procedure rooms and every one I've been in have always been very clean. One thing to keep in mind is it does get pretty cold in there so if you're sensitive to temps then bring a light sweater. They're located on the 3rd floor of the Pauahi Wing of the hospital and can either valet park at the main entrance to the hospital or you can self park in either the POB I, II, or III parking structure. If you're having a procedure the parking validation should be free.

I had a total left hip replacement done there TODAY! The front desk receptionists were clear and helpful. Check in was quick. I was called back just a few minutes before my check in time (I was a bit early) First off, I am very picky because I am in the healthcare field also. So keep that in mind. Every person that talked to me from my pre-op nurse to the anesthesiologist to my surgeon's team to my scrub nurse to my recovery nurse was SAFE!!! They checked my name and my date of birth to make sure I was the correct patient. They were also so engaging a honestly appeared to be so happy with their job that translates to better patient care. In my book, patient safety is PARAMOUNT! They were all knowledgeable about the procedure and answered my questions throughly and without any hesitations or feeling rushed. The facility was very clean and inviting and was grateful for a relaxing calm atmosphere. Surgery went well and was able to ambulate with help of my recovery nurse to the bathroom...and also ate some cheese crackers and water. Made my discharge goals pretty quickly and I was out the door! Loved this place. Loved the healthcare team there. I feel like they have a great team and they are happy there. That's a kind of feeling that is difficult to fake. And if your healthcare team is happy, you WILL get better and safer care.

I didn't know colleague mopped in front of our work station and both legs flew up as I exited the swinging door... Torn rotator cuff. After x-rays and an MRI, took some time for worker's comp to approve this procedure and the day finally came. Was given explicit instructions prior to this day and after following them, I checked in at Minimally Invasive Surgery Hawai'i (MIS), which is located on the 6F of Hale Pawa'a. MIS is state of the art surgery center which has a team of professionals who perform orthopedic, musculoskeletal care and spine care procedures. I've never experienced this before and didn't know what to expect so I found myself asking my sister, who has 30yrs experience as a registered nurse, with questions. My concerns were alleviated as I believed in professionals and their knowledge and expertise. I was informed by the office of Dr. Darryl Kan and complied with the instructions provided to me. Upon check in I had my RN sister accompany me just in case I needed clarification and to ensure a smooth process. To be frank I was somewhat concerned as there was not one other patient in the check in area. It was just my sister, myself and the staff behind the counter. I was escorted to the back where I changed into a gown and received instructions as well as the attending professional reiterated today's procedure. Once again, nerve block was explained in simpler terms where I understood. It scared me but once again I had to trust the process. When it was my turn, I was rolled into the operating room where Dr. Kan greeted me in an upbeat manner and briefed me on what's to come. This was done over 8 months ago so I don't recall what happened after except finally waking up to some noise. The nurse (?) greeted and checked up on me. I was a little groggy and she must have read my mind as I was thirsty and hungry. I was offered an array of drinks and some snacks to choose from. When I was post groggy stage, the staff called my brother in law as he was designated to pick me up as I'm not allowed to drive after my procedure. I remember presented with non-slip socks and escorted to the 1F via wheelchair. Overall, I am very pleased and satisfied with MIS as they walked me through this process that was nerve-racking from the get go. From Dr. Kan, his staff and the staff at MIS, I was treated with great care and professionalism.
