OMG this is the second time , after I paid my bills they send me another bills when I check they charged me with vascular study? I only have transvaginal ultrasound procedure done , so Dr Busse -Fujimuto charged me with Vascular study after paying the first bills she sent. Someone should report them to Insurance company #HMSA # that's frued. Never again going to this imaging. read more

I came in for an ultrasound of the ovaries being that I've been have sharp pains for a couple month's. My Ultrasound Tech and Doctor explained everything to me every step of the way and also told me I'll be feeling pressure due to the tech pressing down and I was told what I was looking at on the screen and I really liked that I was informed as to what the Tech was seeing and not left wondering until my OBGYN seen the report as to what is going on, I appreciated that a lot, gave me peace of mind right then and there. Office experience was great the two young ladies were polite respectful greeted me and explained the forms I needed to fill out. I HIGHLY recommend coming here. read more

Had to come here for scans on my ovaries/uterus because I was bleeding nonstop for three months. I was initially scared because I have childhood sexual trauma, but the staff was so kind and patient. The doctor held my hand, helped me breathe, and gave me a heat pack so that I focus on something while they did their scans. I was even thanked for communicating my trauma so that they could offer me more care, which meant a lot to me and I felt very seen. They found hemorrhagic cysts on my ovaries and large polyps in my uterus. Doctor even explained what we were seeing during the scan, which was helpful for me. I'm very thankful for my experience and have been back a few months after my first appt for a check up scan! My second experience was just as good as my first! read more

Had a call from Their stuff Krist? Ask for my credit card information. When she talked, I had questions, she told me to no talk while she's talking. I waited until she finished. When I talked, I tried to verify who she is, where she called from, tried to expressed what my understanding, she jumped in and talked non-stopping. I requested her to let me finish talking. She said no. I said when u talking, I was not allowed to talk at all; now I am talking, why u kept/jumped in and kept cutting off me? She said no and she was keep talking . I asked her again to let me talk but she said no and threatened that my bill is going to collect in the end of this Friday and hung up, While I was still in the puzzle. Yes, I was left in puzzle. I called back to the same number to ensure this is not the fraud. I called 3 times but no one answered the phone. I ll wait to see what's her excuse and next step. read more

$12,925.01 USD! Is how much this place charges for a less than 30 minute ultrasound. Outrageous!!! I have always been healthy, in no need of any medical intervention. A routine check up brought me to this place, referred by another physician. I nearly fainted when I saw the bill. How is it possible that this place charges this amount for less than a 30 minute routine check up? 1 dispensable plastic equipment were used! Even after insurance, the amount I had to pay was a lot. This place represents what is wrong with the US health care system! A crooked system that meant to bankrupt people. In addition, their billing person, Barbara, had to call me to ask for help to get in contact with my health insurance company, because she does not know how to bill, and does not have the time to find out. EXTREMELY UNETHICAL!!! DO NOT GO HERE EVEN IF IT'S THE LAST IMAGING PLACE ON EARTH!! Received a bill from Malama Imaging. Called and spoke to the Office Manager, Kristy. Asked for an itemized bill, UB-04, and my medical records so that I can better understand what I was getting billed for. Kristy was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. She threatened that if I don't pay my bill they will send it to collections. What kind of medical office does not want you to see all that information related to your bill? It's perfectly within every customer's right to understand what they are being billed for. I told her that I would need to see that information before I can make a payment. That would only be fair. I asked if I could speak to a Supervisor and she refused saying she's the boss there. Straub refers here a lot but know your rights. If your Dr. ever refers you here, make sure to ask to be seen somewhere else immediately!!!! Otherwise you could be stuck with a bill that you don't understand the charges for and they won't give you an itemized bill. COMPLETELY UNETHICAL AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! And definitely filing a complaint with the Hawaii State Medical Board and Better Business Bureau. You need to quit ripping off your community in Hawaii. Your karma will come back to you. read more

I needed a pelvic ultrasound ordered by my gynecologist and referred me to Mallama imaging. Office is very clean and following Covid 19 safety protocols. Including labeling Sanitized and unsanitized pens at the desk and social distancing enforced in the waiting room. The ultrasound tech was great! I wish I remembered her name. She was Very informative, professional. Dr Fujimoto Was amazing . Very professional , friendly and personable .. She immediately put me at ease, explained everything and the different options. June 21, 2022 I had my appointment on this date and been going to them since, for imaging. The front desk are friendly with welcoming you! I experienced light pain, but nurse was supportive, and gave me a warm compress for belly! They're helpful, and work fast too get it done so you don't stay long while the X-ray-imaging process can go smoothly. I feel comfortable going there for services! Mahalo! read more

Dr Busse and Dr Fujimoto run a very professional clinic here for ob/gyn ultrasound. If your doctor is recommending for you to have a pelvic ultrasound or a sonohysterogram, this is your place. It is located at the Hale Pawaa building which has plenty of parking. Scheduling is easy and convenient. The ultrasound techs here are so nice and are really gentle. They have the most updated ultrasound machines plus you get to talk to one of the doctors before you leave. Yes, they are doctors but they are not your treating doctor. What your doctor does with the results is for you to discuss with your referring doctor. The office is clean and the office staff is very pleasant. I would highly recommend this office for anyone who needs imaging services. read more

The doctor was quite cold, did not have the best bedside manner. I got a transvaginal ultrasound with them; it hurt, and I came out with an ongoing vaginal infection that won't go away no matter what I do. When I called them to report the infection, they promptly hung up on me in the middle of the call. I do not recommend this imaging center at all. read more

I have been coming here for about 2 years now and getting ultrasounds every 6 months. It has been the same ultrasound procedure and always been covered by my insurance. Just recently I received a statement billing me for $120 because the doctor used a 3-D scan on me vs the regular scans that I had for the last several times. (Nothing in my body changed and my obg even said that I no longer need to go get these scans every 6 months now). The doctor never told me she had to use a different "doppler" this time nor that I'd be incurring additional costs. It seems like they are just billing me for whatever procedures to make $. When I called, the nurse explained it to me saying for whatever reason the doctor probably could not see hence she decided to use the more expensive 3-D scan. Again shouldn't I be advised of this first and be able to refuse that additional cost? Why do I have to bear the burden of the costs when she can't do her job properly? Also in the last 3x it was a different doctor, this time it is Chrystie Fujimoto. Is she new? What happened? Update - 10/14/2019. Brianne at the front desk is extremely rude. I keep telling her there was an issue with my bill and she kept repeating that it's standard procedure. And she even hung up on me after telling me to call my Obg who requested the ultrasounds. Which I had done already and she confirmed that the tests ordered DID NOT CHANGE since my initial visit. AGAIN proving that Dr. Fujimoto unilaterally made a decision to add extra testing that I am now stuck paying for it! read more

Had my ultrasound here and the employees were very professional and courteous. The doctor was very professional and took the time to explain my results before I left. Upon checking out, was told that I would be getting a statement if there is anything left over after insurance pays. Received my bill and the itemization was very clear. Shows what my insurance paid and what I owed. Everything was there. Even had a mention that I had an unmet deductible on the bill. I do admit that I was late as after a lot of bills got one stating that it would be sent to collections. It was my fault as it was 4 months overdue. When I called the person who answered was understanding and I paid over the phone. Would highly recommend coming here. The doctor is right there in the room. You don't have to wait for it to be read like other places and wait to here from your doctor. read more

I was referred to Malama health for an imaging exam. The staff and doctor were all very friendly and cheerful. The visit was shorter than I imagined, as I was seen right on time, and the assistant and doctor were very efficient, and kind. I did not feel rushed, in fact everything was thoroughly explained and they checked in repeatedly with me about my comfort level during the imaging process. I do highly recommend them. read more

I came to Malama Imaging as a referral from my OB. The building itself was very easy to find off of H1 and parking was ample. The called me a day before to remind me about my 1:00 appointment and check in time is 12:45. I arrived a at 12:30 and was surprised to see that the door was locked. I figured that maybe their appointments were slow that day and they maybe keep the door locked? I decided to wait in the hallway. 12:45 rolled around, I decided to try the door again and nothing, still locked. How odd. At this point I figured that they were on lunch and I would probably stay on lunch until 1:00pm. As I was about to jiggle the door at 1:04, a lady came and finally opened up. My question is, why would you require a check in time to only not be open at that time. If you're requesting a check in time then abide by that. What if the person who was checking in was elderly? Yes, there is a small bench in the hallway that sits two but that might be a little whiles always for an elderly person who has trouble walking or standing. Anyways, when they finally opened the door, I checked in and filled out all the necessary paperwork. Waited. And as finally called in. I'm not sure who the doctor and the nurse was but they were very nice, gentle and explained everything to me before, during and after the procedure. The procedure lasted for about 20 mins and the doctor took some time to answer any questions I had. Overall, if I would definitely return to Malama Imaging if I ever needed the procedure done again. Rude technician who thought I was late for my appointment made me not want to go there again for any future appointments. I received a voicemail from their office asking me to be there at 2:45 for check-in. I get there at 2:40 and the technician throws these sarcastic comments about how I'm late because she thought my appointment was at 2:15. I even listened to my voicemail again to make sure. Overall, doctor and receptionist were very nice and professional but that receptionist was just rude AF. read more

Dr. Fujimoto's bedside manner was extremely lacking. I voiced my concerns and which questions I'd like answers to at the beginning of the session, and I had to ask multiple times before she would address them. She went as far to tell me I "went to the wrong hospital" after being admitted during an Emergency Room visit, and added negative comments about my primary OBGYN. She was quick to leave the room, and I still have questions unanswered. Very disappointing, as a doctor I would expect more. The front desk staff needs training in basic communication, and needs of their patients. Information on parking was undisclosed (even though this is Downtown Honolulu, and should be a consideration) and upon checking out the available validation was not given - so I had to pay leaving the garage. I left wishing I would have scheduled my ultrasound somewhere else. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I came here for a pelvic ultrasound (abdominal and transvaginal). I don't have anything to say but great things about the staff and facility. Everything is pristinely clean and I appreciated how the ultrasound tech, "D" was so thorough in explaining everything to me, I really felt comfortable. Dr. Busse was also very sweet and pleasant, and reassuring. I'm glad my OB referred me here and would definitely come back and recommend if I had to. They validate parking up to 1 hour. read more

I was very happy with my experience here at Malama Imaging. I was referred here by my gynecologist for an ultrasound and when I first walked in I was greeted by the lady at the front desk. I had to do some paperwork and then was brought to the back. The nurse who helped me and did the ultrasound was very gentle and nice. He made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire process. Dr. Busse was the doctor who worked with the nurse and sat in on the ultrasounds. She was very nice, upbeat and explained everything to me thoroughly. They both took their time with my ultrasound making sure to get all the information they could and I did not feel rushed or hurried out of there which made me feel a lot better. When I went it wasn't busy at all and I was in and out within 30 or so minutes. They're location is easy to find and the building itself is very nice and clean. Parking is easy since they have a parking structure and the first hour is free I believe. Again I was very happy with my experience here at Malama Imaging and I'm thankful for the very friendly staff at this place! read more

Fee Clarification! - I'm compelled to clarify a Yelp review posted earlier. It appears to show a bill for thousands of dollars when, in fact, the practice charged the patient only a few hundred. My company handles the billing for Malama Imaging and we obviously failed to sufficiently explain some additional information provided to the patient. The amount shown on the document is the combined amount paid to the practice for dozens and dozens of patients, and NOT a single patient. If more had been displayed, it would have shown the discounted amount the patient was actually billed. Medical billing is more complicated than it should be and to the extent that we added to this confusion we sincerely apologize. We have worked with Hawaii's medical community for over thirty five years. Malama Imaging has a wonderful reputation with their physician colleagues as well as their patients. The doctors at Malama are exceptionally caring and helpful. I'm crushed that our short-comings have reflected badly on them. read more

The office itself was nice, neat and clean. The staff is helpful and professional. Everything went smoothly and I was called in within 5 minutes of my arrival. I was sent here by my GYN for an ultrasound test, and since I am not from town I was a little intimidated about finding my way there. But the office gave me a little map, and I found the Hale Pawaa Building and its parking structure without any problems. (Just for the record, pretty easy to get to from Kap.) The building is BEAUTIFUL! The office is in Suite 310, clean, updated and comfortable and the staff is really helpful. They were so helpful that my paperwork was almost completely filled out already, as the staff was able to get info from the doc's office. I went in for the testing and felt comfortable and cared for throughout. The facility is clean, the staff kind and professional. I didn't have to wait, either. Great experience. The building and staff were nice and they took my mother on time. But, my elderly mother was on the table for an ultrasound for almost an hour. The first 20 minutes was on her abdomen which was ok, but the next half hour her legs were up in stirrups while they checked her uterus. The first doctor was done checking in less than 10 minutes, the 2nd doctor was more invasive and took the required pictures (although, he took the longest), then the assistant to these doctors decided she wanted to practice working on my mother, too, that got me upset. Just because the first doctor introduced herself as something to do with the J.A. Burns Medical School doesn't mean that they can treat their patients as work study objects. read more

This is the place I've arrived today to do my appointment on a scat-image. The nurse was very thorough in explaining to me abt what is to be done of the procedure today. I felt comfortable, confident, and secured to know I was going to be okay with them and their test. The female doctor was nice, friendly, and gave me security on the procedure and steps. I felt calming and relaxed to get this test on the go...with self-confidence! Little pain while inserted the thin plastic tube, but at least they don't use radiation! What to expect with a Sonohysterography test as it was explained by the doctor. Glad it's over, and I made it through this test!!! Bestplace to go for tests, images and there's a snack bar on the ground floor, if you're hungry! Their very nice and understanding about your feelings! Yes, the renovated building and suites are very nice but that's about it. Before I vent, I admit that we were 10 minutes late. When we got there, there were no patients in the waiting room. When my wife got into the exam room, we could feel that the staff was irked. We felt it was because we were late. The assistant asked a series of questions then brought in the doctor. The doctor never introduced herself. The doctor asked, "So why are you here?" Huh? Aren't you, the doctor, supposed to be communicating with the referring doctor? Doctor then asked some of the same questions the assistant asked. We felt that the doctor was very unprofessional in her manner. The exam lasted about 10 minutes and there were some issues. We were obviously concerned, so my wife then asked the doctor questions. The doctor did respond but it felt rushed. My wife was going to ask another questions but the doctor stood up and said, "You should be asking your doctor these questions. We got really backed-up." We're not medical professionals so when the doctor tell us something is there that may cause complications, of course my wife has questions. As we leave, the staff are talking amongst themselves and there's no one in the waiting room ... no one. I get it, we were late. I feel they could have turned us away instead of giving the service we experienced. If someone else was waiting, which there wasn't, then see them first. There were many ways to handle the situation. Obviously others may have a very good experience with Malama Imaging; this was just my experience. read more
