It was that time of year to stop and get my labs drawn again. I only had to wait a few minutes, my phlebotomist was Hong. I always like it when I get her as she is fast and never misses. She's also very personable. Parking is different from when I was here last year, they're no longer is a person there. You scanned the QR code on the wall and then pay via credit card. There is no grace period anymore. Diagnostic labs does validate. Let them know if you already paid for your parking. read more

I think I'll be going elsewhere, all the workers changed. My mom recently went in and confirmed she didn't see the familer workers and she didn't have a good experience with poking. Maybe an old timer still is there just wasnt working that day? She could tell one of the new workers was new and had a really hard time finding moms vein when she's usually fast, at least with the good technicians. My mom said it was painful and she tried multiple times too many times until that tech called a more experienced tech. New tech poked her too many times in one area on both sides so they ended up in her hand. Mom got a bruise from damage. Also the parking is pay online with QR code now, no attendant. read more

So expect to have to park longer than 30 minutes and pay $7. $4 with validation. Update based on response: You can get validation for 30 minutes but need to ask for code or find it apparently. I've been coming to this lab to get all my blood work done for years now. I like this location since it's more convenient for me and close to home. Small parking lot. Parking has changed, there used to be a parking attendant who charged for parking here. Now, they have a scan and go QR code to pay for parking. The providers are nice and friendly here. You take a number and wait to be called. I've usually waited no longer than 10 minutes luckily. Make sure you have insurance and ID ready to scan. They take you in and ask to confirm your name and DOB before administering the blood draw. In the past, it's been pretty hard for nurses to find my vein (they poke me around too much), but today my provider was great at finding my vein fast and she was done in 5 minutes. Quick painless and easy for a Saturday. Opens till 12pm on Saturdays, making it easier for locals to drop by. What I like most about DLS is how fast they give you results - they gave me results same day. Great turnaround. read more

I will start with saying nothing was wrong with the service at the site. My problem was with the billing. On my way out I asked if I could pay my bill, they said no, we don't know how much it would be, I then asked can I leave money as a credit on my account, they said no we don't do that. Fast forward to today, I receive a call from a collection agency telling me I owe $13 and change because I didn't pay my DLS bill that I tried to pay twice. I didn't receive a bill in the mail, or maybe I did but i didn't see it. I received no call or folow up, just sent my $13 bill to collections. What a terrible unprofessional billing operations. Finding a Clinical Lab is easy using your Yelp App. There are many locations in Honolulu and all of Oahu. No appointment necessary, walk-ins welcome for same day visits. First of all, parking is amazing! On a Saturday when it's not a busy work day, there was only one patient ahead of me. Plenty of parking, and it can be paid simply by scanning the QR code on the parking booth right out front. There are other businesses in Kaheka Professional Building that also share the same parking. Staff were fast, efficient and friendly, I was in and out within 10 minutes. I've only had good experiences with the phlebotomists here! I come here early in the morning when I need to get a blood test done. The workers are really nice, and they always confirm that I am who I am, my doctor, and the requirements. There's a private parking lot with security on site, but there's also often street parking. I used to go before the office opens, but it was always crowded. Now I go half an hour after opening, and the line is much shorter or even gone. read more

So after receiving terrible service from the DLS Kahala location (see my review), I jumped back into my car and drove down to the Diagnostic Laboratory in Kaheka. This DLS Kaheka location maybe a little hard to find, but I must tell you that this location is a total GEM!!! Not only did I receive fast & friendly service, but one of the girls who normally works at the JCCH location (which is temporarily shut down now due to Covid-19), even recognized me and did my blood pull. Located on the backside of the Kaheka Professional Center, there is parking available, as there is a private parking lot on the backside of the Kaheka Professional Center building. If you're unsure where the Kaheka Professional Center is, well if you know where "Mama Kim's" is along South King Street, the back side street runs parallel along South King Street. The best DLS or any lab draw I've been to! You can park on the street for cheaper metered parking as opposed to the QR code monitored lot. I've been to this location twice, and both times have been great! About a week ago, my doctor forgot to call in labs that needed to be done on a certain day or else I'd have to wait another month and that doctor unfortunately didn't call it in. The office staff went above and beyond to call them and gave my physicians exchange number to page my physician. I had to leave for work, and they continued to try to reach them for me as it was a time sensitive matter. I wish I got her name to thank her but didn't. :( I also came back today to get basic blood work and I was in and out in 15 mins. Hong was my technician and she was virtually painless and talked to me during my lab draw to distract me. Amazing customer service who truly cares about their patients! I was so pleasantly surprised by the professionalism & efficiency at this DLS location. The staff member who helped me is Julie! She is amazing. In a few brief minutes, she was able to calm my anxiety ( about needles ) & was so skilled at her job, that before I knew it she had drawn 4 Vials of blood ordered by my Physician! Came here so they can steal my blood for the first time..nah jk..after being sickly and finally getting better, my doctor ordered me to get a blood test so he can check up on my goods lol. Anyways, the staff kindly put you in a small cubicle, strap you in until your veins are visible, then they stab and drained me, but at least they were gentle lol. There's a bit of a wait, but the staff are very friendly and they go as fast as they can. The parking lot is small and shared with other establishments. There are parking attendants who give you a ticket so don't forget to validate. This place is located along the building from the parking lot entrance...you can't miss it. read more

Convenient location, easy/free parking, ultra clean, and the staff is great! I haven't been to very many "labs" on the island--I usually just stick to the one near my house, for my annual checkups--but the last couple times, I needed to get some bloodwork done ASAP, so I checked Yelp for somewhere on my way back to work from my doctor's office. This place was very easy to find (thanks to Yelp & Google Maps)! Not sure if I'm just getting lucky with parking, or if it's always this empty, but the tiny dedicated lot behind the building always seems to have lots of open stalls during the weekdays. After stopping to get a ticket from the attendant, just pull into any stall. The entire lot is exposed to the sun, but when I'm in a rush, I'd much rather park in the sun for a bit, and not have to go "round and round" a multi-level parking structure somewhere else! It's also nice that this DLS is on the ground floor (in the far corner of parking lot), so you don't even need to look for any stairs or elevators...just walk right up! Normally, it looks like they have a small reception area for people to check-in, but due to COVID, they've posted a station outside for everyone to "pick a number" and wait on the covered lanai. (The entire front wall & entrance are clear glass, so staff can easily see who's outside.) My longest wait so far has only been one other customer ahead of me, which took about 3-4 minutes. So far, the staff here has been very pleasant & professional, with lots of friendly smiles & chitchat (though I'm sure they're also fine without talking, if you prefer not to). Best of all--knock on wood--they've been able to do my blood draw very quickly & painlessly every time, in just one try! (Unfortunately, I've had phlebotomists at other places who had to poke me 2 or even 3 times, to find my "tiny veins"...ouch!!) Once you're done, parking is fully validated, and you're on your way! Results were sent to my doctor in a timely manner (doctor called me a couple days later saying everything looked normal). So all in all, this lab is about as good as it gets for me...no frills or "ambiance" per se, but it's a lab, not a dance club, lol. Next time you need to get some labwork done, keep this DLS location in mind! read more

Very convenient location in town on King Street. It's close to where I live so I just walk. There is a open lot in the back of the building, entry on Liona Street. Also metered parking on Kaheka Street. Early hours from 6am, and if you go that early, it's usually quiet and you are in and out. You take a number once you go in which is on the left side of the check in counter, then sit down and wait until your number is called. You'll need an ID and your insurance card. They take credit cards. If you don't have insurance and pay cash, they give a discounted rate. Staff here is super courteous, nice and professional. The phlebotomist are very experienced and found my veins on the first try with me barely feeling the prick. Been here six times. read more

Chose this lab over my usual, as it was conviently close to where I live. I had to get some blood work done after hurting my ankle. Guess today wasn't a great day for their office. AC was down, no water available and on top of that, they had a hard time finding my veins. Not only was it hard for them to find, but the phlebotomist kept poking deeper into my arm that it hurt me several times. Omgee!! After failing to draw from my forearm, she tried my hand. They had better luck there! It's now several hours later and my arm still hurts. Ugh! read more

These labs are so awesome. They are open early; this one, you go up to the door, and pick a number and eait to be called. Very smoothly processed. Importantly, I have had such a &^%$ time with my PCP sending me twice to them to have something done. Both times, my PCP failed to provide them with the required order so I could not get it done. Ecen so, they (DLS) went so out of their way to try to locate it. If my PCP was as diligent about his profession and patients as they are, I'd have a lot less stress in my life! read more

I'm very familiar with the Healthcare system and use to love using DLS services. For some reason they sent my lab bill to an address that I moved out of over 6 years ago. Keep in mind, I have been using their services over the past 6 years at least once a year. They reported me to a collection agency for uncollected payment for services that were rendered in 1/22 and the previous year. Now my personal credit line that I worked hard to build up for many years, has been tarnished. If you know how credit is used than you understand how this will affect me in upcoming years. No apologies were issued, and I was made to feel like it was my fault for their mistake. read more

Normally I would go to another DLS, but since the pandemic started, this outlet was closed temporarily & staff were moved to the DLS outlet at the Professional Building located at the corner of King/Kaheka Streets. Parking your car is either metered street parking or a pay parking lot (located behind the building). Be aware that staff at this DLS will only validate your parking for 1/2 hr. If they are busy, which is usually every morning, you will be charged $2.50 for each 1/2 hr. in excess of your validated 1/2 hr. Technically, DLS (per supervisor of DLS - Kaheka St.) advises their staff at this location that if patients end up waiting a long time for their turn or your procedure is time consuming, you should receive sufficient validation stamps to cover your time waiting to be served &/or while being served. Any deviation of this policy should be reported to DLS supervisor at (808) 589-5100. read more

Diagnostic Lab entrance is actually located on Liona Street which is accessible from the parking lot. The parking is open and there is a fee to park. When I entered the front door there was a female employee sitting at the desk. She did not look up from her computer and did not acknowledge that I walked in the door. I love this lab. I utilize their services every three months, 'Tis the cancer survivor life. All techs that work here are excellent at their jobs. The lab opens at 6am for convenience, if you are not suppose to eat anything the night before for a blood test. Meters for parking out front are free until 7am. They are very quick and efficient at getting you checked in and getting your tests performed. They are always professional and accurate at verifying your identification and tests ordered. As well as, labeling your samples in front of you and re confirming your identity. You can also request a copy of your results mailed directly to you. I highly recommend this lab to all you. I was in and out of there in no time. They're open early (6 a.m.) so I usually don't have to wait long. The last time I went to have blood drawn, the technician had trouble finding a vein on either arm. I did tell her that I have rolling veins so it might be easier to try the vein in my hand. After several unsuccessful tries to find a vein on either arm, she reluctantly, from my standpoint, tried my hand. I suggested she ask one of her coworkers to do it, but she wasn't happy with my suggestion. I was stressing out by this time. For the first time in a long time, I had a noticeable bruise where she drew blood. Today Jean listened to my explanation of what happened the last time I was there, and she agreed with me that using a vein in my hand was a more viable option. It does hurt a little more, but she was very fast and efficient. There is no bruising in the area on my hand. I'm not a fan of needles, but I appreciate that Jean patiently explained what she needed to do. read more

Anyone else concerned that blood work here used to be completely cover by HMSA. Now the co-pay is almost $85.99 every time I need to do blood work? I called HMSA and was told that it's not them it DLS who raised their prices. I personally have to do blood work 4 time a year. And find this cost to be too much! Although the location is small, it seems to be ran pretty efficiently and was orderly and neat. Nikki helped navigate my extensive test needs and apprehension.
