They opened up at 7am which was a great fit for me. I was there a few minuets before they opened and there was one person waiting ahead of me. They opened right on time. Their office is very clean and organized. I was warmly helped by Alexis and after she updated my personal information and she took me right back. Alexis was just as efficient, and very hygienic with drawing my blood. We had a friendly conversation and when we were back out front I asked if there was a way I could see my lab results and she went through how to do that. This was an excellent experience and I would not have any issue bringing a loved or or recommending to anyone.

STAFF needs help. For a PET scan, you fast from carbs 24 hours and fast with only water for a LONG time before hand the. day of the PET. Because of this--you CAN get low blood sugar and lightheaded, tired from lack of food and glucose. PET scans use a tagged glucose molecule via direct injection and then you wait a while for it to distribute. They leave you in a nice recliner that has warming features and warm blankets too, so you are comfy waiting-another star there. but then? Here is what I OVERHEARD while I was in the room waiting for the blanket (it's cold in there). I had to get up and ask for it again BTW. 1. They check blood sugar as above due to weakness caused by long fasting...I was old mine was OK, though I didn't see the test done. But someone outside my door, a woman, had a low blood sugar and was symptomatic--feeling faint. The tech, who's name starts with a D, told her her blood sugar rating (low) and then gave her sugar/glucose pills and BLUNTLY told her to "...just take one, most people only need one...just take one!"and WALKED AWAY. He did not monitor her as I heard her voice trail off..."But I feel funny..." He then said something Uncalled for "Just take ONE." (loud) and louder: "You have to be able to walk because I'm NOT carrying you!" Like it was HER FAULT for feeling weak and shaky from low blood sugar? she was VERy anxious, scared...ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS SPEND 2 MINUTES REASSURING HER. He could not be bothered as it is an 'assembly line' there and he RUSHES everyone through. He IS capable, of course. but he has no empathy nor bedside manner--ALL HE IS CONCERNED WITH IS TIME. GET ER DONE. IF this is the fault of over scheduling? Then it is the company's fault and they should slow down. But if he just doesn't care about his patients? Even as a tech, he has a responsibility to patient CARE. not taking TIME, rushing everyone through (I was too and I won't give details but I was shocked)... HE NEEDS EITHER A SLOWER PACED SCHEDULE (company's greed) OR HE NEEDS TO THINK ABOUT WHAT HIS PATIENTS ARE EXPERIENCING. Taking a minute for reassurance? No biggie. Talking WHILE working to put people at ease who are scared or nervous or alone? EASY. Get it together! I felt truly sorry for that woman, as she was simply SCARED. He was RUDE, demeaning, rushed and could have cared less. ONE STAR.

Now appointments are required, although walk-ins are still accepted, except you'll have to wait. At my last appointment, I didn't know this change, because I don't keep up with hospital policy or operational changes. The receptionist was gracious enough, even if she dragged the sign that told people already in the lab that appointments are required and pointed to emphasize the new policy. I had to wait over an hour for the next available slot. She wouldn't budge, which was both mildly annoying and assuring (means next time I make an appointment they'll keep it for me). I went in today a few minutes past my appointment time. I saw the sign regarding the "new" parking rates, 0-30 minutes: FREE. Hmmm can I get out of here within 30 minutes? I dug out my parking ticket, checked the timestamp, 12:02. I checked the time, it was 12:08 (luckily I didn't have to drive too many levels for a stall.) Maybe I can! Not long after, I was called, and the nurse found a cooperative vein with one poke, even though apparently I have small and shallow veins, despite them being so visible. I was in and out in five minutes! (I was done even before the man who was called in before me!)

I completely understand that medical facilities have rules and procedures that need to be followed. However, instead of simply explaining the procedure and/or the rule, Heiro repeatedly responded, "We have to follow the rules!" in a very dismissive and unfriendly manner. The issue was not the rules -- I am perfectly happy to follow them. The issue was the way I was spoken to and the complete lack of communication. A simple explanation would have taken less than a minute and would have avoided the entire unpleasant interaction. Instead of being guided through a medical procedure, I was made to feel as though I was being reprimanded for not already knowing their process. So, for anyone going there for a chest X-ray, here is what I wish someone had simply explained to me: When you enter the X-ray area, wait until the technician tells you what to do. When instructed, go into the changing room, remove your clothing from the waist up, and put on the blue gown with the opening in the back. Then wait until you are called and given the next instruction. It is a very simple process. Unfortunately, if you don't already know these steps, you may be made to feel as though you have done something wrong. Working in healthcare requires not only technical skills, but also basic communication skills, patience, and respect for patients. Rules are absolutely fine. Expecting patients to know those rules without explaining them -- and then speaking to them disrespectfully when they don't -- is not. I would have given this experience 1 star because of the way I was treated by the X-ray technician. However, the reception staff were very nice and helpful, and I don't think their good service should be overlooked. That is the reason I am giving 2 stars instead of Zero. I'm writing this so the next person knows exactly what to expect and hopefully avoids having the same unpleasant experience I had.

I made an appointment and they said numbness typically occurs when you have an injury, or will happen to both legs when it has to do with diabetes or vitamin deficiency. So this was odd, but may have occurred from sitting at my desk or hiking with tight shoes... I made an appointment with one of the PTs at Mapunapuna, Maurisa Terao, who performed many checks on me. She showed me a number of stretches, had me download an app, and provided me with items to do over the week in between the next visit. She explained how numbness can heal and the timeframe, but that the stretching and exercises are important and we set goals. I met up with her for a couple of additional visits and the feeling returned!!! I am very grateful for the guidance and care provided. She was attentive and right for my style as I don't have a lot of knowledge in this space. The facility was massive. They have a really big gym at Mapunapuna. I would recommend this for most in need of physical therapy. I heard you can self refer for almost any treatment nowadays due to their wellness programs. Call first to confirm. Parking is not free after 30 mins.

I have come to the conclusion that if anyone calls you before a certain time in the morning…read more(usually before 8am), this usually means that there is bad news. Sure enough, at about 7:10am yesterday, I get an unusual call from my boss as I am about a few minutes away from work to let me know that there has been a positive COVID-19 case in our office. He does the routine contact tracing questions to figure out who may have been a close contact and fortunately for me, I was not, so I continued on my now less than merry way to the office. After a discussion with my work moms, we figured we might as well take a COVID-19 test anyway just to be safe. Someone had even suggested Nomi Health because it was free with insurance and apparently fast, so we went ahead and scheduled appointments for that same day. You can schedule an appointment at the following link: https://nomihealth.com/hawaii or look up "Nomi Health Hawaii" for the website. I must admit that the website is not the most user friendly, but once you access the website, click on the yellow button that says "Schedule a COVID-19 test" to start. There will be a list of available test sites available, so when you find one that works best for you, click on the "Select" button right under the location you want to take your test at. Next, a horizontal pop-up window will appear on the page with a calendar of dates and times available, select the date and time that you would like. Another option available in this section of the appointment scheduling is the option to pre-register as a walk-up (they even give you a time frame of when walk-ups are accepted usually 8am-5pm). You will then be asked you if you have tested with them before and if you are reading this review as we speak, my guess is that it will be your first time, so click "No." You will then be required to fill in your information such as email address, phone number, first and last name, etc. You will also be asked to include health insurance information and whether you consent to having your COVID-19 test. For those who have been to Nomi Health before, if you click "Yes," you will then be required to provide your Patient ID that was first given with a QR code at the time of your initial registration (the plus about this is that logging in with your Patient ID will auto-populate all of your info to save time). You will then be asked to include any symptoms you may have at the time of the questionnaire. The last part of the questionnaire will be a summary of the information you provided, the test location, and the date and time. Make sure the info is correct before submitting your appointment. Once your appointment has been submitted, you will receive two emails from Nomi Health: 1) Appointment Confirmation Details (including a QR code for easy check-in at your appointment) and 2) Profile QR Code. Make sure to keep both for your appointment and then just the second email after the fact in case you ever need to take another test with Nomi Health (since your information is tied to the Patient ID QR code). One of our work moms had an earlier appointment than us but she left about 30 minutes earlier to her appointment and about 15 minutes later texted us to hop on over since there were no lines, so my other work mom and I headed over. If this is your first time visiting Nomi Health at Ala Moana Center, it is literally a tent located in the parking garage directly across from Longs Drugs (second floor) towards the mauka or mountain side. There are plenty of parking spaces nearby and sure enough when we went around 10:30am or so, there was no one there except for two nurses. Entry to the testing site is from the left and there are lots of signs with information such as a registration QR code (for those that have yet to register and are looking to get tested) as well as information on out of pocket expenses for those with no insurance (fellow Yelper Shantell C. provided photos of those signs :D). Check-in was relatively easy, one of the nurses just asked us general questions, verified information, and also asked whether we were planning on traveling. Once that was done, we were then instructed to walk over to the other nurse on the side to get swabbed. Now, if you've ever taken a formal COVID-19 test especially at the height of the pandemic, these tests are as invasive as can be, so much so that I had to tell the work mom that was with me to continue swallowing, so that it would not be much trouble, but the nurse did like a fairy wand swipe to the point where I almost giggled because I was expecting my brains to be scrambled. Even my other work mom who has had similar tests in the past commented that it was not as bad as we had anticipated. Both of us could not have even taken more than 5-10 minutes together from the time we checked-in to the time we were done. Overall, I would highly recommend Nomi Health for any of your COVID-19 testing needs (they provide both Antigen and PCR tests).

I was scheduled an appointment at Hawaii Diagnostic Radiology Services located at St. Francis Medical Center in Liliha. My doctor took the liberty to schedule the appointment and I was committed to an evening off from work as it was scheduled for 9:15pm. Finding a doctor's appointment to fit my work schedule can be challenging, yet this one was out of the ordinary as I had no idea this center opens until 10pm. Late in the afternoon I received a call and voicemail from them asking if I could come in earlier than scheduled since a last minute cancellation was made making my appointment available from that point on. I immediately went in ASAP! First of all, parking was amazing! On a Tuesday evening when the busy work day comes to an end, Level 1 was completely empty. There were a few patients in the waiting area. But once I completed my personal information sheet, my name was called immediately. The technician was sweet and professional, she was fast and thorough, front desk administrator quickly validated my parking ticket and I was in and out within 15 minutes. By the end of the next day, I was told that my results would get forwarded to my PCP.

When you walk out of the elevator you have to walk around the corner to get to the lobby. He was in the Queen Emma Tower. This place is like a maze. You have to make a few turns to get to the Queen Emma elevators. We got lost a few times. The hospital was clean, bright and really nice. The staff were also really friendly. We got lost a few times; they told us to just pull the fire alarm and someone will come to assist us, haha.
