Killer whale watching tour. Smaller but spacious boat than the competition, Kevin and his staff…read moreare very knowledgeable and kept it super entertaining. We got very up close and we're able to really experience these amazing creatures. Got more video that's way better with breaches but I feel like we were very fortunate to see what we did. Make sure you tip your staff w/ cash, they work hard! Also a Let us get away and swim in the deep! Away from the whales of course.

Thank goodness one of my coworkers told me about her whale watching tour that she bought through…read moregroupon! I bought a 2 hour whale watching tour for 2 people for only $60!!! Let me tell you, this was THE BEST $60 I've spent in my life! I can't stop talking about it & sharing the pictures & videos of my experience. Park at the Whaler's village parking lot & make your way to the beach fronting Leilani's restaurant. There you will see blue umbrellas with Blue Maui's logo. Make sure to check in 15 mins before your trip & go to the bathroom before you get on the boat! From the beach you'll get into a small boat which will take you to the medium sized boat. I forced my boyfriend to sit at the front of the boat because I wanted to get the full experience! Let's just say we went out really, really far... For the first 30 mins we say only a few whales from far away, but then things changed! We saw a few boats that were just chilling & decided to join them. The whales were popping up & checking out the other boats. I screamed with excitement so many times. I literally love whales! The whales made their way towards us & I almost died because they were so close. We even got splashed by them with their tail! Make sure you take your GoPro because you're able to stick it in the water! We got amazing videos! The whales were so close & you could even hear them! I'm telling everyone about Blue Maui & how it was such a lifetime experience. Thank you to our guides who did such a great job finding the whales & giving us lots of info. Make sure you wear lots of sunscreen cause we got super burnt! We had a whale of a time & will hopefully island hop back next year to see the whales!

Located in Maui, HI, the dock is in Lahaina. I came in the middle of February 12, 2026. I hear that…read morewhale season is end of December to April, with February being the peak month. Surely, we were surrounded by whales. I went on the 6:45am 2 hour Eco Raft tour. One boat tour holds around 12 persons. The temperature in Maui in February was fantastic, about 65F at night, and 75F at peak of day. It was great value, costing about $111 for the 2 hour tour. Keep in mind, you need to show up 30 minutes before the actual time to fill out waivers, etc. Many whales were a few feet away. There were so many whales! We must have seen 50+ individuals. See my video of baby whale breaching. I didn't capture alot of photos, because I would rather see it with my own eyes. Tip for those traveling in February: it's a peak travel season for Maui, so book your rental cars well in advance 10-12 months ahead. If you book 5-6 months ahead, you won't get any. You may try rental car with Turo, or have to rent E-bike, bike or take Lyft, Uber, etc. Clothing suggestions: depends on the time of day you go. For early mornings, you may wear shorts or long pants, something warm like sweatshirt or I did Patagonia fleece with lightweight Outdoor Research rainjacket on top. Shoes come off, so you will be barefoot on the boat and you will get the shoes back afterwards, so that won't matter. It's kind of windy, so hold on to or get a hat with a string that goes around your neck. Bring sunglasses, and put on sunblock while you're signing the waivers. You will not regret it if you come during whale season!
