(Not sure it was Ruben - husband didn't get his name.) They did an excellent job clearing out my dryer duct. There was more of a blockage than we anticipated. My drain pan in attic and p trap were clogged. the drain pan in attic had gallons of water ready to dump into my attic. Thankfully they were able to unclog the unit that was full of algae buildup. We thought our dryer was acting up, but it ended up our dryer exhaust ducts were full of lint. Initially, we called a dryer repair guy who said we shouldn't use the dryer until it got cleaned otherwise they said it could cause a FIRE or my dryer would work so hard it could blow a fuse. So found this company on Yelp and they are excellent! So if u need someone to clean your dryer exhaust duct, call them. I thought he was thorough and worked hard. He's the owner and they also do air conditioners install and service and cleaning. He climbed on my roof too to get the duct cleaned. Cleaned up after himself (as in, fold up the sheet I put down to keep carpet clean...wow!) and even wiped down my washer! They are also located in japan. Highly recommend. Now I have peace of mind that my dryer lint won't catch on fire when I run it (especially when I leave the house with the dryer running). We were exiting a tenant and I noticed that there was a build up of dirt and other particles around the air vents in the unit I manage. The tenants had cleaned and changed the air filters so it seemed unusual that this was occurring. I called the company that had changed the filters out and they recommended Hawaii Air Specialists for the duct cleaning. I contacted Reuben at Hawaii Air Specialists and he promptly scheduled an appointment. As a property rep I have worked with many companies and contractors and Reuben is one of the best. He walked me through the whole process, diagnosed the issue, and even pointed out some building flaws with the airduct itself and corrected the problem for us. He is friendly and professional, and even offered to show me the inside of the air vent which was interesting. His courtesy is elite level. I was on a video seminar the day that he came to service our air ducts and he was really considerate of the fact I was on a conference call and gently closed the doors to rooms he was working in so as not to disturb the call. It's little things like that that make a big impression. Reuben is a contractor that pays attention to detail and made sure the job was done the right way. Reuben, the owner of this business performed our AC duct cleaning. Flat rate $170 plus tax. Great skill, knowledge and personality. I told Ruben I get asthma symptoms when AC is not clean. So he used the chemical that he uses for cleaning up hospital ACs which air did smell like hospital only just for the first few hours. Took about 1hour to clean. Save yourself the stress, they may have been good at some point but not with us. Horrible communication. No one answers the phone. They do not arrive in the window they say (or inform you that they are running late) Friendly people but not professional. I had to contact them NUMEROUS times to get responses from them. They don't seem to have the equipment to work on higher structures. They went to the mainland for 2 weeks or so, without informing us so we were waiting to hear from them as they had said they would; we left voicemails, texts, etc. and NO RESPONSE until they returned (it's a cell phone, they could have texted as that seems their favorite form of communication) We only stuck with this company since they had already came to asses the house but it has been a VERY STRESSFUL/FRUSTRATING experience working with them.
