Happy smiley face indeed! Thank you, Havoline on Ponce.

Okay, so I typically just do reviews of restaurants and foods and stuff, but my experience today just made me have to sit down and write one for these folks as well. I am in such shock about what happened here today (6/18/19): the most pleasant experience ever having to go "spend time" having to do the mandatory oil change! Greeted immediately in a very friendly way and then I put that "spend time" in quotes on purpose because from start to finish? 15 minutes tops. I brought a book to read thinking it would take forever (*sigh*... doesn't it always??) But nope. When they finished, a different equally friendly technician made a point to then sit with me, explain everything they checked, fluids they filled, etc., and didn't even try to up-sell me or talk me into unnecessary things (which I already know I didn't need, having taken care of other things recently -- but always curious if places will try to do that anyway). WHAT. When so many places try to take advantage of folks, this place was truly a breath of fresh air today. I even mentioned I was about to go on a 1000 mile road trip and they didn't change their tune -- only asked when my last tire rotation was, confirmed I was fine when they heard my answer, and suggested looking at that service either with them or my dealership on my return instead. After my experience today, I can't recommend them enough. (Plus, go online and get a coupon for $10 off too. Ladies? Wednesdays you get the $10 without even having a coupon.) It shouldn't have to be said, but we ladies know this is true: sometimes when a woman pulls up by herself at a dealership, mechanic, or car service place, we're treated like we don't know cars or what we actually need. From my experience today, I'd say you're very safe to come here and not have folks do you like that.

This is what it should look like...no missing like in the other photo

I was thrilled with their service and speed until I went for my next oil change and discovered that my oil filter cap (not sure of the proper name for it) was placed back on my car with a missing piece. This missing piece could have caused major and costly damage to my engine because it kept the filter from going up into the engine. It took several hours at my next oil change to remedy it because parts had to ordered. It's scary to know people aren't paying attention when working on our cars. They end up putting our lives at risk and we don't even know it.

Isn't that oil on the ground?! Leaked all the way out.

If I could give zero stars I would! I took my car in for an oil change. I drive after for about 30 mins parked up at a gas station and my engine locks up. Stuck without a car and waiting for a claim from them even when their grease monkey mechanic tells me that this has happened before. They denied my claim for fixing my car. My car was FINE before I went there. Never will I come back to grease monkey.

Busy but lines are pretty fast on even the weekend.

How much does it cost for an full synthetic oil change for a 2014 Honda Accord 4 cylinder?

My first question would be why you would need synthetic? For a 2014 4C regular oil is just fine. And it's $29.99 but go online and you can get a $10 coupon off as well.

Midtown tire always takes great care of me. They've patched holes in my tires, replaced my tires,…read moredone my oil changes before. Most recently, I was meant to leave for a trip to New York and woke up with a flat. I needed to get it fixed before my flight 3 hours later, and somehow they managed to get me in and out in under an hour!! Definitely on the expensive side. I was quoted ~$1,400 for new brake pads and rotors and found a mobile brake repair place that quoted me under $1k, but the service and convenience of midtown tire is worth it.

We had been loyal customers of Midtown Tire for eight years and always had positive experiences…read moreuntil today. In July, my wife had two new rear tires installed. At that time, Midtown offered an alignment check for an additional $160. We declined, believing it was not necessary. After only about 6,000 miles, while driving my family to visit relatives for Easter, I noticed the steel belts showing on the outside edge of both rear tires. That clearly raised safety concerns, so we brought the car in to understand how brand new tires could fail so quickly. We were told the wheels were out of alignment and that because we declined the alignment check previously, the damage was entirely our responsibility. My issue with this explanation is simple. If alignment is truly critical to the safety and longevity of tires, it should not be positioned as an optional upsell, similar to an air filter during an oil change. Midtown then presented us with a quote of $1,060 for two replacement tires and an alignment. For reference, the same tires installed in July cost $694. The most disappointing part of this experience was the store manager, Jerome. He remained in the back of the shop and communicated through frontline employees rather than speaking with us directly. My interaction with Dakota was professional and positive until Jerome became involved. When I finally spoke with Jerome face to face, there was zero empathy and no willingness to offer any consideration or compromise. His message was blunt. This was 100 percent our fault. For comparison, I called Mavis Tires, who installed the exact same tires and completed the alignment the same day for $849. Had Jerome shown even a basic level of customer care or empathy, we would have stayed with Midtown for service. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and they have lost a long time customer.

From this, I thought it was more of an electrical issue at the time. I read some of their stellar reviews so I called Autohaus Social and was told my VW has to be brought in for a diagnostic testing to determine what the true issue is. I called on a Monday and since they were pretty busy during the week, was told they open some Saturdays to keep up with the work flow. I then decided to make an appointment for that upcoming Saturday. Checking in was breezy. I instantly felt like my issues were heard and understood. Their updates were done via an online portal and heard back a few hours later that it just needed a new battery. Thank goodness that it was a fairly easy fix than I originally thought. The diagnostic testing was around $200 plus labor, then cost of battery and labor for that. I probably did pay a few more hundred dollars rather than simply getting the battery replaced at one of the chain auto stores, but at least I found a very reliable auto repair shop that handles European cars. I haven't had any issues since getting my car battery replaced. Thanks Autohaus Social for your great customer service and overall work!
