I am updating this review from two stars to five. After reading my previous review, Roger Jordan Garage reached out and offered a substantial partial refund and an explanation for why they charged us the way they did. Notably, they were highly interested in what the actual fix was, which tells me they want to avoid a similar problem in the future. That's good looking out for customers. It's important to note that at the time of the repairs. one of the mechanics had asked me to give him a shout after we took it to Kia and let him know how Kia fixed the stalling and AC problems. This is important for two reasons: 1) Had I done this as requested, we could've discussed my disappointment with the charges and perhaps resolved it (but I did not reach out as requested before writing my review), and 2) Roger Jordan did NOT, at all, try to pressure me to change my original review. They just offered the explanation and partial refund, which brought the charges down to a price I feel was more reasonable considering we had to take it to the dealership afterward. To be clear, a full refund wasn't in the offing because they did do substantial diagnostic work and replaced a battery, which they had already discounted. Like I said originally, I felt they were honest folks. The refund and note from the shop confirm this. They want to do right by people. That's clear. So, despite my original review, I believe they have now made things right and I would be completely comfortable taking vehicles back to them in the future. read more

My Prius broke down at 4pm in the Lowe's parking lot. Nicole L came to my rescue, but to add to the drama, like an idiot, I reversed the polarity (causing several fuses to blow) when I tried to jumpstart it, and this wasn't even the first time that I had jumpstarted this car! Dohhhh! I located the nearest auto repair shop and spoke to Neil, the grandson of Roger Jordan, who recommended I get in touch with A Tow, Inc to tow my car to their garage. Thankfully, A Tow took care of the towing prior to closing hours. Neil did caveat that his shop was just getting familiar with servicing hybrid vehicles and he might not be able to fix the problem. But I was confident a new 12 volt and fuses would do the trick. I called the next day to see what the status was, and by the end of the day Neil confirmed what I surmised. Batteries are expensive ($206) and one of the main fuses ($100) had to be picked up at the Toyota Dealer in Decatur, which Neil did personally as he lives there. Neil promised the car would be fixed the following day, and he delivered. The total cost plus parts was $600. Not a bargain but now I've got my car back functioning just as before which makes me happy. read more

I have been going to this shop for years. As a woman I am always concerned when it comes to car problems I will get ripped off and other shops have taken advantage of that. Jordans garage has always taken care of me and I trust that they aren't trying to scam me because I'm a woman. I have a warranty on my car at the dealership when my heat stopped working they said this was not covered and I was going to have to pay thousands of dollars to fix it. I took my car to Jordan's garage and they were able to fix it temporarily until the correct part was ordered and now I have heat!!!! Jordans garage was able to order the part and install it for a fraction of the price the dealer ship quoted me. I went here on 03/30/2017 and just found the invoice for my visit which reminded me to circle back and leave 5 stars with a review. The attention was top notch. It didn't take long for them to get back to me, so I wasn't waiting around all day to hear diagnostic. He was very upfront and honest when I came back to pick up my car. There was some clicking noise when engine was running, very low. He added on the notes that my cars engine does seem to at times have issues with the rocker arm needle bearings. I would definitely go back if I still lived in Atlanta. It is hard to find good mechanic shops so even though it's been more than a year, I wanted to come back and show my appreciation. If I could give 6 stars I would. Best experience I've had at a car shop yet. Dealer told me I needed nearly $4000.00 worth of work and something didn't feel right about that. First of all, I will never go to any other shop in Atlanta to get help on my car. I didn't deal with anyone other than Neil and I suggest you specifically request him because he goes above and beyond. I won't go into detail on all that he did to help fix my car (my car had been in and out of the dealership 4-5 times over the course of 6 months -- costing me almost $5K in total -- STILL having issues and not starting when needed.) I'm highly disappointed and dissatisfied with this company. I've used them before with no issue but this time was horrible. I asked for a Tune-Up Service which is typically changing the spark plugs. Instead I was charged $337 for an oil change and a system diagnostic. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BRING MY VEHICLE HERE FOR SERVICE. My car is in the same state as it was when I brought it in. The service guy "Richard" waa very misleading and they literally charged me for a service I did not want. I'm so upset especially being a Inman Park resident this is absurd. NEVER AGAIN! NEVER USE ROGER JORDAN GARAGE ON DEKALB AVE!!!!! The originial title of this post was never use Roger Jordan Garage on Dekalb and now I take it back. Here is my orginal post: So, my break maintenance light has been on for quite sometime. On Monday I went to a number of different garages in the area to get a quote. I asked for an estimate on the WORST possible damage including inspection, pads and REPLACING the rotors if necessary. Roger Jordan quoted me $249 and I asked repeatedly if this included everything including new rotors. The old man assured me yes so I made an appt for this morning since they cut everyone else's estimate by $50. So today I receive a call that my rotors do not need to be replaced but my breaks do need to be realigned - so everything BUT new rotors and they totaled me up at $260. When I called to VERY CALMLY question the difference in price the old man got on the phone and started screaming at me that I should just come and get my car because I was calling him a cheat and a liar. Here's what happened when I picked my car up: They apologized for yelling at me and dropped the price back to the original price. They also did a wonderful job on my car and are even fixing an additional lug when it comes in next week. So they made right and are probably one of the only mechanics in town that don't gauge and will tell you NOT to do something to your car because it's not necessary. NEW UPDATE: Roger Jordan has since tried to dupe a co-worker and a friend with the same - oh it will cost this and then the same job costs $100-$200 more than quoted. After some bickering all were brought closer to the original quote, but this is not acceptable behavior. Now I only use Armour Tire on Glenwood and Flat Shoals in East Atlanta Village - the most honest and best work I've had done on my car since moving back to Atlanta 5 years ago. read more

When i got the call and spoke to the mechanic i could tell he was honest and there was no pressure, the fees we spoke of (as fees differ from different companies) we very ver y resonable and having been at the same locaton for over 70 years make it even more reliable. Nice and very knowledgeable guys, but terrible at communication. I called them on a Monday morning and asked them how busy they were. They told me they were surprisingly slow, so I explained my issue to them and they told me to go ahead and bring the car in. I got there at 11:15 and spoke with one of the senior guys (he was very friendly). He told me they'd take a look at the car that day and call me back with an estimate. He also warned me that if they had to make a repair, they might have to keep the car overnight (which was no problem). At 5 PM,, I hadn't heard from anyone. I called their office and spoke with the guy that I met at the office. He explained that they hadn't had much time to look at the car, but he thought they knew enough to put a quote together and he'd call me back with it in a few minutes. I didn't hear from anyone until the next morning, after I called them and left a message asking them for the quote. They told me they'd identified two potential issues, and were able to give me separate quotes. I asked them to fix the more critical issue, and he told me that they'd have to order parts from the dealership and that the parts would take a day to arrive. They estimated that they'd be able to complete the repair in the morning of the next day and that the car would be ready no later than late afternoon. I called them at 1 PM on the 3rd day, expecting the work to be completed and my car to be ready. My call went straight to their answering machine, so I left a message asking them to call me back. I waited two hours and still hadn't heard from anyone, so I called again. The guy I spoke to told me that they hadn't received the part, and that they'd have to keep my car another day. I understand that it's not their fault if the parts don't get delivered, but they should've called me to let me know about it. By 1:30 PM on Thursday (the 4th day that my car was at their shop), I hadn't heard from anyone regarding the status of the repair. I decided to call them find out when I could pick my car up, and they informed me that they were still putting my car back together and that it wouldn't be ready for a while. I asked them if they knew when it'd be ready, and they couldn't give me an estimate. I finally told them that I was coming to get the car and it needed to be ready by the time I got there. They repaired my car and the final price matched the estimate that they gave me. they were also nice enough to talk to me about a couple of minor issues that they'd spotted, and recommended a timeframe for dealing with them. They also acknowledged that they don't have enough staff to man the phones very well. If they can get better about communicating with customers regarding delays, I'd be happy to take my car back to them. read more
