Wow, the service you receive at Havertys is the best I have ever had when shopping for furniture. They let me shop but was there when I had questions. Their selection was perfect for what I have been looking for. Good prices for the quality. It's why I will only buy from Havertys. The clearance area has some great deals too. Let me just start with I love Haverty furniture. We have purchased different pieces over the years in different states as we have moved. It's always great quality. Yet, I must warn eager purchasers that the Haverty Furniture in Macon, GA., is less than in so many ways. We custom ordered a sofa sectional...1. Not all pieces were ordered, 2. Upon delivery of the initial pieces...two sections had been slid on the fabric sides and the corners had holes, 3. When the missing piece was ordered and finally delivered 6 months later, it was loaded in our vehicle and we almost left the parking lot when we decided we better open and peek in the wrapping. The piece did not match our sectional so we went back in and unloaded, 4. More waiting...new replacement sections arrived for the damaged ones (still waiting for final piece), 5. Finally after countless email, phone conversations, broken promises and lots of frustration, the last piece made it eight months later. Unfortunately, this will be the last purchase we ever make with Haverty Furniture. Go to a store that cares about customers cuz this store doesn't have that service. read more

Well I called Haverty's to place an order and I spoke with Liz!!! Liz made sure that we got what wanted at a great price... Dawn was also great, and they both have excellent customer service!!! We picked the Vintage Autumn living room set and the Northwood entertainment center... They use Synchrony bank for financing, but I would highly recommend having a personal loan before even attempting to look at their furniture. The store is an immaculate and looks like a dream center!!! Plus the set-up provides great decorating ideas. They also offer delivery, and that's great for us since we don't have a truck. All of the furniture is study and comfortable, including the office furniture. Everything on-line looks 10x better in the store! I would highly recommend setting a budget and waiting until they offer a sale, but the furniture here is so worth the sacrifice! read more

Never imagined I would write a bad review of Haverty's. Purchased a dinette set from the Macon, GA, showroom on Sunday, 10/14/18. After feeling a bit uneasy with sales person Steven Fuerniss because he was unwillingly or unable to answer questions regarding price points and negotiation, my husband and I requested a manager. He said one was not available. A short time later, Mary Griffn, Silver Sales President's Club designee, identified herself as a manager and our interaction commenced. She said she would "work with us," to get us a good deal. After several minutes, she returned and said the Town Center set that we were interested in was being discontinued, and she said we would have to transport it that same day. During this encounter, I identified myself as actively battling breast cancer, and told Ms. Griffin that the purchase was in anticipation of getting a table before my scheduled surgery in three days. As I was exhausted, I took a seat while Ms. Griffin ran back and forth to communicate with the lady she identified as responsible for inventory. The sale was completed, and I signed a Sold As Is form and completed the transaction at the cashier's desk. Once I received my contract, I went to the table with Ms. Griffin, the inventory lady/cashier, and noted a few scratches. Because Ms. Griffin adjusted the price of the two end chairs to allow for selling us leather and wood kits, I was assured I could mask the scratches, which I believed to be minor. Ms. Griffin and I hugged, she said she would be praying for me, and I left the showroom. The items were loaded onto our trailer, and my husband and I set out for Nashville. He mentioned some scratches on the items while on the highway, and I emailed Mary Griffin after a call to the showroom was unanswered. I received no response. Upon arriving home and unloading the dinette set, I observed noticably waaay waaay more scratches on the table than I saw in the showroom. The leather on one chair was rubbed off. After a day or two with no response from Mary Griffin, I called the store and spoke with her. She said the table was dropped and that is why she sold it to me for $200 less, which was my first time hearing this. We were told by the initial salesperson that the items to the left in the clearance center portion of the showroom were there because there was no room for them in the main showroom. AT NO POINT DID ANYONE FROM HAVERTY'S DIVULGE TO MY HUSBAND AND I THAT THE TABLE WE PURCHASED WAS DROPPED/DAMAGED. We were told it was sold to us as is because it was a discontinued floor model. If we knew the table was dropped/damaged, we would have inspected it more thoroughyly and would not have purchased the dinette set with multiple scratches on table, and both leaves, with a chair that is irreparably by us. Additionally, Ms. Griffin reminded me that she adjusted the price of the side chairs (which she really did not because she deducted the price of the wood and furniture repair kits from the chair prices). During our conversation, Sales "manager" Griffin suggested that the chair must have been damaged in transport, as my husband and I drove the furniture "a really long way." As in from Macon, GA, to Nashville, TN. I informed her that I just wanted to resolve the problem, even if we had to pay a service tech to repair the chair. She requested that I send her pictures and she indicated she would get back to me. On 10/15/18, I sent her the requested pictures. She has since gone radio silent. Feels like a Rooms to Go or wholesale warehouse furniture experience. Definitely disappointed. Definitely. Shame on you Haverty's. read more

I ordered a couch in March 2021. I have yet to recieve it and the current eta is end of July. They originally told me I would get it in April. Then they told me in April I would get it beginning of June. Everytime I call about it they push the date. The manufacturers are on back order. But adding to the issue, they were dishonest knowing full well I wouldn't get it on time about when it will arrive. The manager chuckled at me when speaking with him. This is bad business and if you order anything from them you are not likely to get it anytime that year. It was a whole lot of "it's not our fault" and sucks to be you kind of attitude. There have been few times that I have had to fight for my entitlements as a consumer. Mostly it has been with non-reputable or disfunctional companies. I would have never thought I'd have to do this with Haverty's. I bought a sofa, recliner and the Gold Protection Plan a week before Black Friday. Before committing to the purchase, I read all the fine print on the Gold Plan and asked the salesperson if the set will be on sale on BF to which the reply was no. It was mentioned that if I bought the set now, it has a 30 day price guarantee. So I made the purchase. Even though i was able to drive away with the set on my own, the salesperson threw in free delivery probably just to close the deal. Well, BF comes around and it has dropped $200 so I call back and ask for the price adjustment. I get a call back hours later from the salesperson saying that because it was a BF promotion it won't be eligible for price guarantee. Hold on! You told me this set wasnt going on sale on BF and nowhere in the price guarantee policy does it say doesn't include promotions. I was told to call the manager back to work it out but not to mention that I got free delivery. I speak to manager and first he tries to make me go away with the whole "our price protection does not cover promotions" thing. I fight that by saying the only reason I bought the set BEFORE BF was because the salesperson said it was not going to be on sale but said I could always do price protection. Then he comes back with saying since I got free delivery would not be eligible for price protection since that would be two stacked promotions. I said look man, I don't understand why I'm even fighting for this as a customer. I didn't even need the free delivery and wouldn't have accepted it if I knew I wouldnt be eligible for price protection. But here's the best part..the manager tried to bargain with me only giving me the difference of what the price protection would be from delivery! I had to tell him, did you not understand anything I just said? I'm was given free delivery and then told I could use price protection, so I feel I deserve the full $200 not some low ball treatment. He eventually conceded. I think the staff and manager are delusional. In the same phone call where I had to fight for my entitlement, I was also given a lecture about how they pride themselves on treatment of their customers. It was completely obvious they just wanted the sale and then be done. I also returned the Gold Plan which if you look around online will find it's a joke. I was again hassled about that return. I will say that despite everything mentioned above, the manager stuck to his word and refunded the price difference on both sofa and recliner. read more

I am not a happy customer. In saying that, let me start at the beginning... My wife and I have been looking for living room furniture for the past month or so and we found a wonderful set at Havertys in Macon. This was on a Tuesday afternoon. They worked with us to get the best deal possible without having the company break even on the sale (understandable. it is a business, not a charity). We spoke in depth about the protection plan and about the cloth sofa, chair, and ottoman being sprayed for the stain protection since we have a dirt yard (muddy when rains) and that was discussed with them. They assured us that the items would be pulled from the floor that same day, sprayed and wrapped ready for pick up the upcoming Friday (3 days later). This right here is the kicker. After getting help from friends who had to rearrange their work schedules to help me with the furniture (pick up from store and move furniture into the house), when we arrived to Haverty's, the furniture was not wrapped!!! I, the customer, had to help wrap my own furniture that I purchased from them and I, the customer, had to help load it onto my trailer. This was not ok but I had the furniture and it was ready to be taken home so I bit my tongue and left. When I got home and wanted to test the protection spray, all the water soaked through every single time. My furniture was pulled from the floor on Tuesday with the promise that it would be sprayed and wrapped for pick up on Friday. So in the 3 days that it was in their warehouse, it was not once sprayed or wrapped and now I am having to wait until this Saturday for someone to come out and spray it? The furniture is sitting in my garage wrapped and cant be used due to the dirty dogs that we spoke hours about!!!! I am not happy and probably will not be doing business again with Haverty's. read more

I bought a couch and loveseat made by Bernhart several years ago. I was happy with the purchase. This weekend my son in law flopped down On the couch and we heard a huge crack. This AM I called Haverty's to get a recommendation for repair work. I realize it is no longer in warranty, I would like to know who could do a reputable job. The phone number given to me was someone in Texas who said that the company in Atlanta wouldn't come to Macon. So if you buy furniture in Macon at Haverty's once the warranty is gone so is the company help. No one could recommend anyone in Macon. They just said to look in the phone book and start making calls. I would expect at least local phone number for someone that they would recommend. So if you need furniture go elsewhere for a company who is into customer service after the sale . read more
