Stay Away from Mark Atalla & Carlyle Capital - Protect Yourself!…read more Do yourself a favor: Google Mark Atalla lawsuits or, better yet, visit the official website of the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov and search for his name. I'll let you form your own opinion after reading what he has done. Here's what happened to me: I paid $48,000 upfront based on a Letter of Intent (LOI), with the promise that he would fund our deal by the end of September. Not only did he fail to deliver on that promise, but he also completely ignored 10 emails from me asking for updates and instructions on how to recover my money. Instead, he made outrageous claims that we had committed fraud and that the documents we submitted were somehow "red-flagged." Well, today is November 8th, 2024, and it's been over 45 days since our contract expired. Despite multiple requests, his company has failed to produce any evidence of the supposed "fraudulent documents" or red flags. It's a blatant lie. I even went so far as to show up in person at their office in Irvine with the police, asking, "If I committed fraud, arrest me," and demanding answers on how to get my money back. What did they do? They handed me a Post-It note with the number of their attorney--no documents, no explanation, and I was not arrested. Just a complete refusal to provide any help. Mark Atalla and Carlyle Capital are now forcing me to hire an attorney and pursue legal action just to get my hard-earned money back. I highly recommend reading about how the FTC found him guilty and made him pay over $500,000 in damages. He also has another lawsuit for failing to pay a contractor over $98,000. SMH. Just a very bad business experience overall. I'm not outright calling him a scam artist or criminal, but his lawsuits, the Federal Trade Commission, and my personal experience paint a very ugly picture of this company. I would NOT recommend this company at all. STAY AWAY. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE.

The services provided and zero grants received doesn't not equate to the $1,500 price tag for only 3 months. Also, I was told that my grant coach would write up my business plan. I never got that business plan. I did all of the paperwork and wrote my own plan. Another important thing to mention is that fact that most grants applications require at least 6 months for processing. So why does USBFS services expire in only 3 months? It would be curious for a business that offer grant opportunities to extend the initial service for at least 6 months to 9 month. Especially for $1,500 "worth of services." That would help insure that the customers' best interests are in mind. I was also told by the supervisor 6 months after signing up that I failed at completing steps at the beginning of my grant profile and that it was my fault that I didn't get any of the potential grant opportunities I was eligible for. I sure would have thought my grant coach would have looked over my profile for corrections so that I could properly submit my profile for funding opportunities. Make your own decision on using USBFS regardless of how much they hound you about signing up. If they followed up my profile as much as they hounded me to sign up then my experience might have been worth my time and money.
