The menu definitely has something for everybody and even though some things were a little pricey, everything we ordered came out hot and was delicious. Our server Jasmine was great. We had a nice table which was out-of-the-way from others. Jasmine was also training a young man and she didn't miss a beat taking our orders , answering any questions about the menu ,making sure everything came out as it should the young man whose name I did not get came to the table several times to check on things. I had brought a cake for dessert. They brought it to the table, lit the candles,sliced it and served it and boxed up any leftovers. could not have asked for a better evening. read more

We were traveling in the area for a few days and ate here for dinner. One of our family members we were traveling with had eaten here before. The food was outstanding! A few of us had blackened Mahi-mahi, another had the Flounder, Caesar salad, and the kids had chicken tenders and Mac & cheese. The bread they served before the entrees was excellent. The plan was to have a Mother's Day out and Havana's did not disappoint!! Shaun was awesome; has the gift of hospitality which was such a plus for us!! If you can sit by the bar!! Havana's was awesome. We came in from a day at the beach and were underdressed but the food and service were impeccable. This place was soooo good! Everything that we had was delicious. We had the volcano shrimp as an appetizer. For our entrees, I had the grouper and my boyfriend had the tuna. We were raving about it afterwards because the flavors were so good. The service was also great. They had private events going on, but the service was timely and hospitable. Our server was very kind and seemed to go out of his way to provide an extra level of hospitality. Great vibe and great food. If we come back to the area, we will definitely visit again. The only tiny negative thing was that the drinks were served in small plastic cups. We think it is because they had an event going on, but that is the only area of improvement that we can think of. read more

My family and I visited Havana's during our vacation in Carolina Beach around Labor Day weekend. We opted for outdoor seating, which was pleasant and spacious for four adults and three little ones. The live music was a nice touch. Service was great - from the hostess to our server. Our server was very mindful/accommodating and overall, wonderful! She greeted us promptly, placed our kids' orders first, refilled our drinks, stopped by our table just enough times to ask if we needed anything. The menu had a variety of different food selections and drinks. Food tasted great! We had the Oyster Rockefeller (delicious!), Clam Chowder, French Quarter Pasta, and a couple of cocktail drinks. I would highly recommend this restaurant! It's definitely a favorite of mine in the area and I'd visit again. read more

Randomly stopped by this place on a weekend trip to Wilmington and it was an amazing gem! Everyone was super friendly and helpful! Honestly the food was bomb, drinks were great, and I would highly recommend this place if you're in the area. You end up with a ton of food so you'll have plenty for leftovers. Stopped in for a nice dinner being our last night in the area. Checked in with the hostess. Gave our name and never got a text told we would get any one when a table was available. Told us 30 mins. We waited over an hour and 15 mins before I went to question what the issue was. She asked for my name and she told us we were on the list. Informed her we got the first text. Her response was "Oh you did"! Okay well we will have a tape for you in 20 mins..WHAT! We just waited over an hour.. she went and spoke with someone and came back and another lady, maybe the manager ‍ she was VERY RUDE . Didn't speak to us. Sat us an walked away.. so disrespectful! Oh and sat us in a back corner..sorry we were the problem apparently Our waitress was nice and apologize wasn't her fault. Great atmosphere and food. This casual but upscale restaurant has a huge variety of different options. The jerk chicken skewers are perfect with the pineapple dipping sauce. The scallops casino has 6 large scallops and bacon pieces on a flavorful rice and is served with a vegetable side. If the scallops were seared this place would be 5 stars. The kitchen here has problems. We've been here three times now over the past year. First time scallops weren't done. Second time there was a gross hair in our oysters. Third time they delivered my order but not my wife's order. Now I'm sitting here with a my warm entree, still waiting for my wife meal to come out. So, I participated in a food and history tour of the Carolina beach/Kerr beach area. Havana's was the first stop on the tour, so that we could partake in sampling their award-winning clam chowder. When I tell you that this stuff is delicious!! And that is saying a lot coming from someone who had never had clam chowder before this experience. Their clam chowder was thick and creamy, filling and just overall tasty. I definitely plan to return. Been here a few times and every time I hope it will get better. But unfortunately I am let down again. Started with a pain killer it tasted like a pina colada with no rum at all in it. For a starter we got the volcano shrimp which was pretty good. A large amount of shrimp and had good flavor. For dinner we split the tuna which was OKAY at best. Delicious food and great service! Was visiting Carolina Beach for a few days and happened across this restaurant. The food was delicious--served at the appropriate temperature, tasty, and reasonably priced! It was so good a returned the next night for dinner! The crab dip was especially scrumptious and the accompanying pita chips were the right mix of buttery, salty goodness. I also had the strawberry salad, hamburger, and chocolate cake. My only complaint is I wasted time at other restaurants instead of eating here every night! read more

First time trying Havanas. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, wait staff and two managers. Wish I could remember our servers name but he was friendly, hard working and a joy. We had several visits from the waiter, manager and maybe even the owner, all of which were awesome folks. Now the food review. I love all kinds of fish! Mahi Mahi is one of my favorites along with Ahi and Spanish mackerel . I used to live in Hilo Hawaii and would spear fish for Ahi and Hapu'upu'u then I would cook it at the fire house. It was pretty amazing. This Mahi Mahi was probably the best Mahi Mahi that I have had yet. Easily the best in North Carolina for me. The bread that was served with the rosemary? Butter was way to addicting , it was awesome. Yes its a little expensive but if you try to catch your own Mahi Mahi with today fuel cost you then understand why it costs so much. If your craving fresh Mahi Mahi as I, you need to try the blackened Mahi Mahi from this place. Most excellent. read more

Super hit or miss on dishes. My fried shrimp was great, the shrimp and grits were good, and the salmon. My husband got the filet and ordered it medium. It came out raw. Seared on the outside, inside just cold and uncooked. We've never sent food back before this, but it was inedible(and $40). We sent it back to have it cooked longer. It came out a second time, uncooked still. We ended up just asking them to take it off the check and we shared my meal. We kept hearing our food would be up soon but clearly not. We also saw some good get dropped which clearly could have been ours.
