It's time to spice up things in 2026! If you're ready to expand your taste buds and try Latin…read moreflavors, then look no further than Que Rico Cuban Cafe! The vibe, ambiance, friendly & stellar service, and top notch food are muy excelente!!! First off, you must order the CAFE CON LECHE (coffee w/ milk)! The strong Cuban espresso will definitely caffeinate your world and you might even ask for a second cup to go! I might be a little biased, but it is the BEST cafe con leche that I've ever had on the Northshore. The cafe con tres leches is another good choice as well. You can enjoy and savor every sip of their coffees any time of year! Next, you must try the Havana Sampler (tostones- fried plantains, maduros- fried, caramelized sweet plantains, croquetas, fried yuca) with fried pork chunks. Yes, I know - everything FRIED makes the world go round! We have only one life to live so you might as well enjoy all the yummy foods from this diverse world of ours! Remember to dip everything in the homemade mojo sauce (it has a strong garlic flavor)! The Cuban sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches and is a great lunch option. When I want to splurge, I have to get the special oxtail soup. The oxtail is fall-off-the-bone tender and full of flavor. The chef is very creative and offers special dishes throughout the month. Anytime is a good time for cocktails here! I have enjoyed many of their specialty mojitos - the mango and watermelon were both so refreshing to enjoy on a sunny day. They even have a mojito flight if you can't decide on one flavor. I also enjoyed the caipirinha (Brazilian national cocktail), which surely packs a punch (but in a good way!). Que Rico is a spacious, beautifully decorated restaurant and is the perfect place for a small or even larger group! On certain nights, they even have salsa dancing, which provides for a fun and more lively evening! Make plans to visit Que Rico for coffee, drinks, or enjoy a meal with family and friends ...it will be a fabulous fiesta FUN-day !!!

It is the kind of dish that makes you stop after the first bite and realize how good it really is. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a cozy, home-style Cuban vibe that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. Even though I ordered my food to go, I could tell the dine-in atmosphere would be just as enjoyable. The service was amazing. The waiter who took my to go order was super nice, welcoming, and made the whole experience easy and pleasant. You can tell the staff cares about their customers. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the food tastes fresh and authentic. I will definitely be going back and trying more from the menu. Highly recommend!

Oh my goodness I cannot wait to go back and try everything I had the picadiilo. Amazing!!! The black beans have a delicious flavor, almost smoky. The rice is cooked perfectly. And the sweet plantains are a great pairing. My husband ordered the chicken cordon blue. It came with chickpeas and tostones. All of it was very delicious. The chicken was so flavorful and that crust was great! We ordered the churros for dessert. I will go back, just for this. I needed coffee to go with it but was so focused i didn't even think about it until it was gone Crunchy, but soft, fried perfectly. The filling was perfect. Def order these!!!! I hope they see huge success the service is top notch and the food will have you moaning and wanting more

Was about 80% full Staff was efficient and food was prepared quickly but if you were expecting the old Elisa's Cuban, this wasn't it. First of all, it's not real Cuban bread. It has to be real Cuban bread not French bread pressed like a Cuban. There were only 2 slices of meat- one ham, one pork and one slice of cheese. Barely a taste of pickle or mustard The sandwich was on what appeared to be 6" French bread roll and toasted on a grill instead of a panini press. The fries were thick and on the soggy side. We did get take out but no more than 6 minutes from the restaurant. The food truck had it right. Cuban bread w/generous helping of meat, cheese and pickles and crisp shoestring fries and you could comfortably share a sandwich. Had I known I would have ordered more food but quantity wouldn't have changed quality. Definitely needs work. Another con for me is you can't grab a cold beer sling with your food but we ordered take out so It didn't matter. I realize they are new but they should have realized they had some great expectations to fulfill when they took over the name. Two Cuban sandwiches cost $28 and change. I would have done better at Subway. Still searching for the perfect Cuban in Baton Rouge. If you decide to eat in the dining room there is good parking. It is a family restaurant. On a holiday Monday at lunch it was on the noisy side which is to be expected.

You know how it goes... you live somewhere and keep meaning to try a place and suddenly it's like 8 years later and here we are. Exquisite everything... atmosphere, service, cocktails and food. Aperitivo-style dinners (aka girl dinners?) are my favorite. I love a good grazing. We had the seasoned chickpeas which are fried and crunchy but not dry like baked or dried chickpeas. These are the irresistible kind, the melt-in-your-mouth with salty umami goodness kind. The saltines that come with the black bean hummus are seasoned in the same way, fried, I suspect, but I'm not mad about that. I really couldn't stop eating these and don't get me started on the perfect fries. Drinks, ah the drinks. As much as I wanted one of those frozens, with dropping temps outside, I went for a gorgeous Flor de Jamaica. Think citrus-forward, not heavily boozy (vodka). I followed up with the Mary Pickford, which has pineapple juice and normally I would fear for an overly sweet drink but this is not that. It's more on the tangy/sour side of the spectrum. Both drinks are perfectly light and refreshing. It all felt like the indulgence I needed after a frigid week. After dining upstairs, which makes you feel like you're in a chic loft space, we peeked into the courtyard. I cannot wait to return and pretend that I'm in Havana, sipping on an expertly-crafted frozen drink. It really doesn't get any better than this.
