    Cuban sammich and mango juice

Been seeing this pop up a lot but they are usually downtown. Excited that the new restaurant on Sherwood is opening soon. But decided to try for lunch today. Was definitely NOT disappointed. Service was amazing. Ate my sandwich on my tailgate and loved every bite. Can't wait for the new restaurant to open!

I forgot my breakfast at home this morning and decided to try the food truck thats always on the corner of my office building. Its cuban cuisine so I wasn't sure what to expect as I have never had it before- I was pleasantly surprised! I got a omlette sandwich and a mango juice. It was filling and the juice was fresh and delicious. I will definitely patronize again

This is one of my absolute favorite food trucks, and if you spot it out in the wild, you can't pass it up! The team running the truck are some of the friendliest you'll ever meet, and their Cuban sandwich? Absolutely to die for!

We chose Solera Bar & Tasting Room for the last BR restaurant week, in 2024. It was phenomenal. I…read morechose to have the wine pairing with my meal, and my partner had the margarita. Both good choices. Overall, the wine pairing was okay. I like the appetizer pairing of a nice light, white bubbly prosecco. The second was a classic red wine to pair with a steak. The last wine is where I was not impressed. It was a dessert wine that had a smell similar to a distilled whiskey. I took a sip and decided I rather another glass of prosecco. Shout out to the server who was accommodating and swapped out that glass for what I requested. He didn't have to, but he did! The food was mouth watering delicious. We started off with the sauteed shrimp and the piquillo peppers. THANK GOD the piquillo peppers are a Solera regular. I will be getting them again. The shrimp were just okay, nothing out of this world. Second course was the filet with polenta. It was absolutely delicious and packed with flavors that complimented each other well. Final course we had the rum bread pudding and the manchego cheesecake. The manchego cheese is definitely a rich and an acquiring flavor. Without the blueberry sauce, you would think its just a slab of cheese. The rum bread pudding was spectacular. I have never loved a rum sauce with my bread pudding, but the Solera one kept me wanting more. Overall and enjoyable experience, with a couple minor foods that lack the razzle dazzle of a 5 star review.

BullFish Bistro - Baton Rouge…read more I had an amazing experience at BullFish Bistro in Baton Rouge! I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and spinach, and everything was perfection. The lamb chops were tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly how I like them. The mashed potatoes were creamy and seasoned just right, and the spinach added the perfect fresh balance to the plate. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the meal feel even more special. If you're looking for a spot with delicious food and great vibes, I definitely recommend giving BullFish Bistro a try. I'll absolutely be back!

The service has always been spot on which makes me return on a consistent basis. The food is always FRESH and made to order so don't worry about getting old cold food. The decor makes you feel as though you are on the island getaway without leaving home. The bar produces so of the most beautiful drinks and they taste great. My favorites are the lamb chops that are cooked to perfection and the beef oxtails. When it comes to appetizers honey pepper chicken bites and the beef patties always call my name. The chef and and his family are loving and very inviting as if they invited you to their home for a delicious meal. I will return and hope to work my way through trying the entire menu.

You know how it goes... you live somewhere and keep meaning to try a place and suddenly it's like 8 years later and here we are. Exquisite everything... atmosphere, service, cocktails and food. Aperitivo-style dinners (aka girl dinners?) are my favorite. I love a good grazing. We had the seasoned chickpeas which are fried and crunchy but not dry like baked or dried chickpeas. These are the irresistible kind, the melt-in-your-mouth with salty umami goodness kind. The saltines that come with the black bean hummus are seasoned in the same way, fried, I suspect, but I'm not mad about that. I really couldn't stop eating these and don't get me started on the perfect fries. Drinks, ah the drinks. As much as I wanted one of those frozens, with dropping temps outside, I went for a gorgeous Flor de Jamaica. Think citrus-forward, not heavily boozy (vodka). I followed up with the Mary Pickford, which has pineapple juice and normally I would fear for an overly sweet drink but this is not that. It's more on the tangy/sour side of the spectrum. Both drinks are perfectly light and refreshing. It all felt like the indulgence I needed after a frigid week. After dining upstairs, which makes you feel like you're in a chic loft space, we peeked into the courtyard. I cannot wait to return and pretend that I'm in Havana, sipping on an expertly-crafted frozen drink. It really doesn't get any better than this.
