With the exception of the staircase. They do have some refreshments, but they are limited. However, you can bring in your own. It would be so nice if they offered a kid version improv! My kids would love that. They have a contract with BYU so you can guarantee the shows are always clean. That's reassuring. Ok WOW Noorda! How did I not know about you until now??…read more The Noorda is a new performing arts center that has recently opened at UVU. UVU uses it for some of their student productions, but the community uses it for other events as well. This week I visited for their performance of Sweeney Todd. This show was co-produced with the Utah Repertory Theater Company. They did a phenomenal job! The lead who played Sweeney Todd has actually had a very long and successful career on Broadway and had been nominated for a Tony. The other lead who played Mrs. Lovett is also an award winner and of the highest caliber. Perhaps one of the best single performances I have seen by an actress. What I'm getting at is--this place is no joke. It's not just a bunch of college kids messing around on stage. They know what they are doing and they are the best of the best! I was also incredibly impressed with the theater itself. It was clean, fresh, and well put together. Made for an exciting and fun environment to watch a show. The personnel were also incredibly kind and helpful. The one thing they really need to figure out is PARKING. Parking is already a disaster on this side of town. So PLEASE do something about it while you still can! Can't wait to see what else this place comes up with!

Both times I've gone to the rodeo, there was a motocross event included at the end. It was so cool (and scary!!!!) seeing the bikers do crazy flips on their bikes. One of the best parts of the rodeo is the rodeo burgers. They're $4 at the concession stands, and they hit the spot every time. (you'll probably want to get 2 of them!). They also have hot dogs, nachos, snow cones, frozen bananas, and drinks. The reason that this review is 4 stars instead of 5 is the sound level. It was SO LOUD. I brought out my decibel meter app (because I'm that nerdy), and the peak dB level was 107 dB with an average of 93. (The average person can only be exposed to a sound louder than 100 dB for 15 minutes before causing damage to the ear according to NIOSH standards.) The sound level was actually very painful. As I looked around, I saw lots of people plugging their ears. Afterward, everyone in our group complained of ringing ears. Make sure you bring ear plugs so you don't have to make your own out of a tissue like I did!

I was so happy to see so many happy people and organized food trucks and organized public seating watching the many shows (4 days of non stop music and dances, that was a FULL program of joy, pity that I was only have a glimpse of the whole event). My only 'wow' was related to masks. Looks like covid was inexistent as barely some vendors had masks on. Majority of people did not follow much the social distancing (blame the churros) and inexistent masks. So strange. That aside, I just felt very happy to be there, it was very magical, the sunset, the stands selling food from all Latin American countries, the smiles, the warm and also tons of freebies to take home! Oktoberfest here in Utah? Yes, please! The annual event has the interest of anyone that loves beer,…read moreamazing views, and a taste of German culture! Even if you don't drink, this is a fun event for everyone, including kids! There are a lot of activities to do including roaming around shops, climbing a ropes course, riding the alpine slides, listening to live music, and eating German food. I tried the uber pretzel (Uber is the right word) and the German Chocolate Cake. Both were delicious! The beer experience here is also different, if you want to drink, you have to purchase a glass and the beer (2 different prices) and each time you refill your beer, you only pay the beer cost. They had 3 different sizes, 34oz (large stein), 22oz (smaller stein) and 16oz (glass beer can). Admission is free to get in and they are open between August to mid- October. Parking is $15 per car or you can reserve a space ok their free shuttle with pick up from the park and ride. Great experience overall and can't wait to go back!
