You know what the real nightmare on 13th is? The amount of time you spend waiting in line, only to be swindled in, back to back with other patrons through the haunt. Enter Dead City, a relatively new haunt (within the past couple of years) that serves as the antidote to Nightmare on 13th. As usual, I really only knock stars because I wish the hands on experience was a bit more intense, but I get it, Dead City is brand new and probably not eager to get a lawsuit. No pun intended, there is a little bit of "dead space" where it's a bit thematically dull, and the scares are in short supply. But my God, when these people scare you they SCARE you. I came on Halloween, and I don't know if it was the last day of the season or what, but those actors were insane. Lots of rooms are really creative, and the end is essentially a maze. Where the actors will not help you out just to rush you along. Last night we went for "Krampus" night, which was festive as all get out. It was essentially a 2 for 1 experience. You got to have some scares, and see some Christmas lights. What's a word for something that's both fantastic and terrifying at the same time? Nonetheless, loved the creativity. As far as I know, they're the first of the haunts to ever do anything like this, and hopefully they make it a tradition. See ya'll next year!

We did the Asylum room and started out with one of our members in a straight jacket, intriguing! The room itself was decorated well and looks to be part of their actual haunted house route - super cool! This is their hardest rooms and we were close the finishing, but ran out of time. I would love to come back and try some of the other rooms! The pricing for each person is reasonable (which is what caught our eyes in the first place) and I think the experience was well worth it. Some of the clues were pretty tricky but we had such an experienced and smart group- we were told we were close to beating the record for solving the whole room, we finished with 15 mins to spare! My recommendation would be to keep your group smaller (5-6) so you have more touches with the clues. Since there were so many of us I was only able to help with a small portion of all the clues.

Had no idea what to expect. We purchased VIP tickets, which were still incredibly affordable at around only around $50 more. I miss when California had this pricing... - Eventbrite tickets were exchanged for wristbands onsite - Has good signal!!!!! Helps that we're in the middle of SLC and not a desert - Security was relatively thorough, included bag check and metal detector - Once inside the venue, there were two large tent stages and one art car. Sound quality was noticeably better in the Tomb of Doom, but not terrible elsewhere - Venue felt spacious but still intimate, balancing between easy navigation and immersive attendee experience. Decor, art, and activities were dispersed throughout - Lots of food and merch vendors. And great options. Loved that they used the existing food court - Great visuals and production for each stage! So many lasers - Staff were helpful and attentive, clearing trash quickly and offering free water bottles to attendees - VIP is totally worth it! Expedited entry, private bathrooms, M&Gs, special viewing areas and lounge-- the bathrooms alone would be worth the additional cost for me LOL I'd never been to a V2 event before this. Along with Hard Summer and EDC, I'm srsly considering adding it to our yearly festival circuit.

I get somewhat sick on rides, boats, etc so I knew this one would be a challenge for me. I'm up for it and the experience was to fun, with very little queasiness. I would say once I got the hang of it in the first 15 seconds I was able to control the way I felt and the rest was great. I wish it were longer but I'd do it again for the same price. I saw they are coming to Vegas...I hope so!

The only downsides is it is quite short for the money, but at the same time we both had headaches by the 3rd jump, so if it were longer that probably would've made the headaches worse. Someday VR will be better quality and hopefully we won't get those VR motion sickness feeling with headaches that we both get after intense VR experiences.

I'd be interested to come back on a slower day, because it was difficult to be in charge of kids here during a very crowded, overstimulating, busy weekend. We came here for a birthday party on a Saturday afternoon and all of the kids were given a card to swipe on all the games. The points you won were automatically uploaded to the card. I was so nostalgic for when you used to get actual paper tickets at the arcade! This is not the case here, and probably most other places nowadays. The staff was friendly and the arcade itself was much cleaner than I was expecting. Some of the games weren't working and there wasn't any signage communicating that. The group of kids I was with LOVED the merry go round and the little rides catered to the smaller kiddos. Those games obviously don't accrue any points, but they did win some points and were able to pick up some prizes at the end. If you get overstimulated easily (like myself), this place probably isn't for you - lots of noises, lights, bright colors and carpeting. It is a fun place for families, and even with it being busy, we didn't ever have to wait long for the games we wanted to play. Would be interested to come back during the week when it's less busy!

The young lady scanned our cards, showed we had 1500+ tickets and when we asked to swap a prize her processor broke and shut down. The goons they had running that place went to watch security tapes for 30 minutes and still couldn't figure it out. They went to the game play history to see if it was possible to get this many tickets (which isn't even a lot). There was not a luck of common sense, customer service or kindness behind the desk at this dump. Wasted an hour of our night over 2 dollars worth of prizes. What a mess and an embarrassment.
