Small, intimate spot in Bolivar with some of the best Japanese food I've ever had. Sashimi was beautiful presentation and the tuna was deep pink and so fresh. The miso soup (miso soup!) was extremely tasty and I want to go back to get some to go. Very helpful and courteous staff - a family business (sister, her husband, and her brother) and you feel like family. Very accommodating to a last minute party of 9. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant and I will definitely be going

Amazing sushi! I'm a lover of nirgi, and their cuts/portions are amazing. They also serve my favorite beer (Sapporo), which made my day! Great service and great people. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Graham roll (minus the Roe). Delicious!!

This has to be the best place in West TN for Sushi, Hibachi and fried rice. We live near Oakland but drove out to Bolivar (not a bad drive) after someone recommended this place. We are so glad we did! Will never go back to Memphis when we want this type of food. The staff is very friendly and can't say enough about how good the food is. We had way more than we could eat. The sushi rolls were huge! and delicious. Will definitely be back

This is a great little spot to heat good food, I would love to have a shorter wait time.

ABSOLUTE SLOP... I gave this restaurant three tries. The…read morefirst two attempts were mediocre at best, but I just got done eating the absolutely ***WORST*** Mexican "cuisine" meal of my life tonight, and trust me, I've eaten more Mexican food out than any other cuisine, stretching the entire United States, and a few in Mexico itself. I ordered al a carte as I typically do (for the variety and to see if they can do multiple dishes well). I received three main course items sloppily placed into a single container drowning in a chili powder and salt heavy sauce such that I could not taste the tortilla or protein...it all tasted like a chili powder salt lick (btw, I am NOT sensitive AT ALL to sodium...I have been home cooking for 3 decades and fully appreciate a well-seasoned dish). This was the worse slop I've ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant, and to boot, the meal cost $20 for three al a carte items and a small side of rice. At the counter, I asked for a small side of their spiciest salsa (which I always do) and they up-charged me $2 for a literally a single two ounce serving of what appeared to be their house salsa with a ton of guess what....a handful of chili powder in it. Their prices are absolute highway robbery for the quality of food they are serving, and it's quite obvious that since they are the only Mexican restaurant in this entire county, they are gouging the local Caucasian population that doesn't know any better. At this quality, their prices should be half of what they are, and if that were the case, you still wouldn't find me eating there. You'll get no more chances from me, you low-quality scam artists. Bye and good riddance.

Surprisingly this place is pretty good. The King Kong roll was huge ! It was decent as well…read more This place is super clean. Everything was good! Very flavorful! Would def give it a try. Service was attentive!

This is the second restaurant of this kind to open this month. They are almost identical, from the…read moremenus to the interior decor and even the friendliest of waitstaff. Based on what items my husband and I eat at these two restaurants the value is a little better here. Our choices costs $1.00 less and they come with soup and salad, whereas Yamato just offers the entree with no extras. http://www.yelp.com/biz/yamato-steak-house-of-japan-corinth One deciding factor as to which restaurant will be the most popular, in our opinion, will be their ability to maintain high quality. Of course, Tokyo will see a higher volume of traffic due to their location in a shopping center near the Walmart Supercenter and movie theater, but to me success means repeat customers. If the quality isn't there I do not go back at all, or I take a break from the place for a few months and let them have a chance to regroup. The main differences between these two, practically mirror image restaurants, are the number of dishes offered and the taste of the onion soup and the miso soup. Yamato only offers the two soups, whereas Tokyo offers seven flavors. The soup base at Yamato is the same so it doesn't matter which soup you order...both tastes the same. Beef lovers, such as my husband, will have much more to choose from here at Tokyo, with upward of 30 variations to pick from. You can eat here everyday for 2 1/2 weeks and have nothing but tempura options, with at least 14 of them being shrimp. The New China Buffet has been the place to go for sushi and stir-fry foods for the past decade, but with this new blood and competition they are adding a hibachi buffet area to their restaurant and it will be functioning within a week (end of Dec and there aren't any details yet as far as price and availability). http://www.yelp.com/biz/new-china-buffet-corinth The hibachi salmon entree was my first choice for the grand opening visit to Tokyo and was not disappointed in the least. It is served with fried rice, vegetables, soup and a salad. My husband chose to try the NY Strip hibachi entree served with the same options. I don't know what their secret is to obtaining such tender steak but it is better than most steak houses and definitely better than almost any steak sold in this town. Let's see if it is just as good tomorrow.

Had a pick up order as I have a newborn and it was storming out so I had my fiancee pick up 3…read morespecial rolls and 1 classic roll. The total came out to nearly $60.00 and this is what we got.. the special rolls only have 8 per order same as the classic but double the price. They also only included 3 packets of soy sauce for all of the sushi. I won't be ordering from this place again I'll be sticking with Yomato
