Went there looking for something new and different other than the usual places in Lakewood, I won't list since we all know what they are. This place is the bees knees! Didn't know it was originally a food truck before the restaurant but they sure know how to cook a "Hillbilly Philly". The CLEVELAND BBQ SAUCE is 10/10...if you like vinegar on your fries & BBQ sauce you'll love drenching your french fries in it like I did! I ordered the corned beef hash, it was amazing. They smoke their own corned beef, really delicious. My dad ordered a burger which he loved, it came with more fresh cut fries than he could eat. My daughter ordered the hillbilly breakfast and she loved it. The chef came out and asked how it was, he knew the answere already. To top it off, they brought me an order of bread pudding, free! My wife and I tried the Brisket and pulled pork sandwiches with fries and the Brown sugar Mac and cheese. The sandwiches were great. The fries were good. The Mac and cheese is an acquired taste. I liked it. My wife not so much but overall it was great and I would definitely return. The owner and waitress was very nice. They even gave a complimentary homemade banana pudding as my wife just gave birth to Twins and I was bringing food to the hospital for her. My fiancé and I came here for our first time several days ago. Neither of us had ever heard about it, but it was recommended by a friend. We went around 4:00 pm on a Thursday. There was only us and one other couple. Everyone who works here is so friendly and welcoming! We were greeted as soon as we walked in, met the chef & received our food really quick! I had a pulled pork sandwich with the mac n cheese & my fiancé has the brisket sandwich with fries. They were both SO good & you really get a good amount of food! We were also given a sample of their homemade bread pudding since it was our first time here and it was delicious! Neither of us had ever had bread pudding before, so we had to ask what it was and the chef explained it to us. They make homemade biscuits every morning & what is left over is used for the pudding. Have eaten at Hatfield's numerous times and the food NEVER disappoints!! The decor is eclectic and fun. May have to share a long table but makes it fun. The BBQ is awesome. Mr. Hatfield has been there each time we have visited and always comes out to visit and offer samples of his desserts he is cooking up in the back. The chili had amazing flavor and lots of meat. To sum it up - Overpriced The atmosphere is interesting, but not all that functional. I got a burger. It was really good. But it wasn't 12 dollars good. For 2 burgers, 2 drinks (in a can) and a 10% tip it was almost $32.00. That's just too expensive in my opinion for what it was. I chose mac and cheese for a side. You'd think that for that price, you would get more than a spoonful. The menu behind the counter is too small to read and it has a glare that makes it even worse. Thank god the lady at the counter gave us paper menus. The lady at the counter where you order was very nice and friendly and the food was good. That's why they get 3 stars. But the price just doesn't make sense for what you get. I work in the area, and I wish them well, but I am not going to be rushing back there anytime soon... read more

Had the smoked wings recently, and they were not good. The dry rub was mostly raw, brown sugar and not very savory or salty at all. Also, the wings lacked a smoky flavor. The hell hot sauce was also more sweet than anything else, and even the dip that came with the celery had added sugar. Very disappointing for the price. We've been 4 times now and the food is good, but we really keep coming back for the great atmosphere and friendly staff. From breakfast to pulled pork, food is consistently good, but on the very heavy side in my opinion. I need more veggies in my life and can't find enough of them here! One can not survive on pork alone - although some may argue otherwise and this place may be perfect for you! Not a huge fan of their drink selection or coffee. The set up is a little awkward (order at bar, pick up in the back when the bell rings, are you supposed to clear your own table? You should still tip right? I don't know...awkward set up) and some of the tables look great but are really uncomfortable to actually sit on. Worth a stop to check out of you're in the neighborhood though! read more

Last night my boyfriend and I tried Hatfield's for the 1st time. And oh my gosh am I glad we did!!!! It was amazing and I highly recommend it! We ordered the mac n cheese burger and meatball sub. They cooked the burger perfectly to order, (which seems to be a feat for other burger places to accomplish). It was delicious. The best part was probably their fries. I love fries but these take the cake. The only problem is now Im addicted to them and to this restaurant. Mary took our order and was very friendly and helpful as were the girls inside when i picked up. I appreciate a place that has delicious food but if the customer service is terrible it's not worth going back to. Not here. You get it all. Great food and great service. I will be going back. Ok, no offense to Kamm's corner, but in moving to West Park from Ohio City, I thought, my walkable delicious food options were going to be pretty dismal. Don't get me wrong, I like bar food, but one can only have so much Irish/pub fare. I am happy to report this place was super YUMMY. I only got to try the brisket sandwich and the fries, but it was so tasty that I feel compulsed to return and try the whole menu. (And please, the brunch menu looks gooood). The brisket was so tender but had nice little charred pieces (do the BBQ professionals call it bark, don't know don't care, in food coma). The ratio of meat to bread was perfect and my brioche bun DID NOT FALL APART (neither did my mother in laws burger bun and that is a huge pet peeve of mine). Just left here about 5 minutes ago. Found this place on yelp when looking for breakfast. It is near Kamms corner. Since it was our first time the woman at the counter kindly explained that we look at the menu go back to order from her then when food is done our name would be called to pick up from back. The place is inviting with vintage, down home furnishings and reclaimed wood. My husband had the smoked corned beef sandwich which was tender and so tasty (he would have liked a more smoky flavor). I had a breakfast bowl of pulled pork and it was such a large portion I could not eat it all but I sure brought leftovers with me! Even though the food was so good, I was even more impressed with the owner who was cooking the food. He engaged with the customers so much so that when he saw my husband did not eat the Mac and cheese, he asked what it was about it he did not like. When he told it due to sweetness (but come one it was brown sugar Mac n cheese...); he gave him a side of a jalapeño flavored Mac n cheese! That is serious hospitality in the form of above and beyond customer service!!! That won me over and plan on coming back with coworkers next week. This is one of my families favorite places, definitely comfort food with a southern flair. I recommend the sampler platter - it has brisket pulled pork and corn beef, with they're different sauces on the side so you can taste all of them.
