Dogsmart was recommended by a friend who raved about their instructors. Tracey, Masumi & Alice all were calm, patient and helpful as we did Beginner Life Skills, Tricks & Games, Shy or Fearful Dog, Dog Out & About and Dog Care Basics. Annette - the friendly lady at the front desk also kept on top of providing multiple notifications for upcoming classes and was always there to help. Training isn't easy and the style might not be for everyone. You will be grilled about how you are working with your dog in all aspects. Words you say, actions you take, actions you didn't take. You will learn a different order of doing things, be asked about what you're doing at that moment but have to listen and visually focus on your dog all at the same time..! My advice: Be patient and practice the activities to the best of your ability! Ask follow-up questions in-class or privately via email and come prepared to talk about what your dog is doing week to week. Retail therapy: there's a shop with a selection of training toys, treats and supplies. It's an awesome spot for anyone looking for new treats to engage your dog at reasonable prices. My shy uncertain dog has grown to like this place and open his little heart. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Dogsmart for focusing on progress and for providing affordable & interesting classes to help Vancouver-area dogs grow.

He then copped an attitude that I was displeased with the situation and told me to never come back, and how I would never find as good a groomer in this town. If you like full-of-s++t arrogance accompanied by average grooming skills from a scratch-your-eyes-out b***ch, this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are much better places all over town.

The best part is that they separate the big dogs from the small dogs, which is great! This is our go-to place for boarding our dog, and I highly recommend it!

I took my, almost, one year old Bernedoodle puppy to Spa Dog for a grooming. My puppy had never had…read morea full groom before and I was extremely nervous. Sunny (the owner) had us come in for a free consultation where she and Kylie (our would be groomer) walked us through exactly what our options were. Even though we brush our pup every night, he had some severe mats that were very likely causing him discomfort and we were advised that the best action would be shave him completely. I was so nervous and sad, but I booked the groom. From the day of the consult to the day of the groom two weeks later I must have called or emailed a hundred times (only slightly higher than reality), but Sunny never grew impatient of me or my nervousness, in fact she was calm and patient with me throughout. On the day of the groom, I was very nervous and Sunny called me and said they would do another consult and confirm how short they needed to go and if I wasn't comfortable with it, they would waive the cancellation fee for me. Sunny also mentioned that Kylie had hurt her back and someone else would be performing our groom. When we dropped off our pup, Kylie was there. She was feeling better and she remembered that we were coming in that day and she also remembered how nervous I was, so she didn't want me to have to worry about someone new doing our groom - talk about above and beyond! Well Kylie did an amazing job, she blended our pup's groom so it looks even and so sharp. She has set us up with a plan to regrow his hair and maintain things. Spa Dog is clean, calm and serene, but the absolute most important aspect of things was how much my pup loved it there. He wasn't nervous at all, in fact he didn't want to leave when we picked him up. It is obvious that the team at Spa Dog love dogs and they truly treat each one like family. I felt so good about leaving my pup with them, because it really seems like they truly love him. Which is the best reason of all to recommend them!

I'm surprised that I am the first one to review Oh my dog!…read more We took Casper to Simone's basic obedience training class when he was just about 10 months because we wanted to refresh ourselves, and him of course. We had him since he was a pup so he was already generally good with us but he was in that teenager stage - ha ha. We loved it and so did Casper which is great. Simone was always calm and very attentive to all of our concerns. She is very patient and well, you can tell her love for dogs! Her classes are smaller so she is able to spend quality time with each dog which is great. The space is large but has a negative, which I will get to later. We learned sit, heel, stay, excited recall, normal recall, down and many more. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs to refresh their training ability (as essentially these classes are more for us than our furry friends) and especially new dog owners as Simone, again, is very patient, calm and knowledgeable. The classes were held in Adventure Den Daycare.. and back to that negative. It smells pretty awful in there, not to the point where it was unbearable (at least not to me) but enough that my clothes kind of smelt like it when I got home. Really, that's the only downside I can think of, but not bad enough for me to even take off a star.

Simone was supposed to come for a 1.5 hour private session that ended up taking 3 hours. We spent most of the time indoors but did go outside as well. She didn't seem to understand what i was trying to explain and seemed afraid of my dog. At one point, she even suggested i wave a treat in front of my dog's face to stop her when she's attacking another dog. This is just crazy! At the end of the session, she actually told me she needed to go home and think about this and would email. She never gave me any advice at all during the 3 hours she was with me. She left my house telling me she was confused and had to think about but had no problem taking my money. I didn't hear from her for a week, so I emailed her. She responded a few days later with a very generic email that had nothing to do with my dog and was not helpful in any way. I feel she should have been honest and told me she had no experience with this type of behavioural issue and she shouldn't have wasted 3 hours of my time or taken $200 for doing absolutely nothing. on the plus side, she sells really good leashes :)

It's impossible to see it from the street. We brought my grandmother's Pomeranian here for a bath, haircut, and nail trim. We were lucky that Winnie (the person who answered the phone) was able to squeeze us in today as it looked pretty busy when we dropped off the dog. Most of the dogs there were small to medium sized dogs; I'm not sure if they do larger dogs. If your dog's fur needs to be trimmed, they have a bunch of pictures on the wall of various breeds of dogs with various cuts as a handy reference. The dog came back looking and smelling good. The haircut was exactly what we'd asked for and my grandmother was very happy with the result. I will definitely be taking the dog back for her next haircut.
