After an apartment fire forced me to relocate more than 50 km away--a valid reason for cancellation under their own contract--I tried to cancel my plan. Despite paying $1,464.66 and only using $338.89 worth of services, VCA kept $1,125.77 of my money! That's money I paid for services I never even used! To make matters worse, when I tried to transfer my plan to a new VCA hospital in my current city, they flat-out refused. So not only did they refuse to transfer my plan, they kept the money after I canceled. The entire contract is designed to exploit customers and squeeze out every penny, no matter the circumstances. This is a blatant money grab and feels heartless, especially considering I've lost everything in a fire. I expected care for my pet, but what I got instead was greed. Be cautious before signing up for this plan--it's unfair and completely lacks compassion. What makes it worse is the predatory practices that VCA engages in. When they automatically renewed my plan they had enrolled me in the wrong plan, and when I had realized this it was already past their arbitrary 60-day window to make changes. Their "options" to resolve the issue were: 1. Cancel my current plan, switch to a Senior Paws Plus plan (which would increase my monthly payments), applying the payments I had already made in the current plan and locking me into a new 12-month contract, 2. Stay on my current plan, get a $516.69 discount on a dental service (but still pay about $800 upfront for the procedure, including anesthesia, x-rays, meds, etc.). Lastly, when the plan was switched over, I was charged for the first month of the new plan and the last month of the old plan in the same month. The real insult? They're happy to offer a discount if I continue paying into their system, but they refuse to refund the excess money I paid for services I never used--money I can't afford to lose as a low-income individual living in social housing and currently without a home. I prioritize my pet's well-being, but clearly, VCA is more interested in draining their customers' wallets than actually helping them care for their pets. I am absolutely disgusted and extremely disappointed with VCA Canada CareClub's lack of ethics and compassion. Avoid them at all costs!

Everything is so clean and the atmosphere inside is calm and relaxing. When we first visited the hotel, we were amazed that the owner (Sandy) built a separate house on her property just for the cats. The hotel is immaculate and the floors are heated (for the kitties comfort). There are 2 levels to the facility, the larger rooms (floor to ceiling) on the lower level while smaller rooms are upstairs. The facility has a monitored fire/security alarm system. I am an anxious pet owner and knowing that the cats are here when we're away, I feel completely at ease because they are in excellent hands. Sandy asks for our vet information and any emergency contacts so that should something happens, she will make sure the cats get the help that they need. We have 2 cats and I always check them in to the "Emperor Suite", a pretty sizable corner room (floor to ceiling) overlooking the front yard. I would recommend making a reservation a few months in advance because every time I'm there, the hotel is usually quite full. Did I mention this place is ridiculously clean? i was going to karen for years. she was the best. since i found they had new owners, i decided to…read moretake my cat to the vet by my house. no one informed me there was new owners, i found that on my own, but they did solicit my business under the old name. i thought it was strange as they did say they informed everyone. so i asked them to transfer the file over to the new vet. she told me theres a $45 transfer fee. i thought nothing of it and gave her my visa. they then charged $47.25 which i did NOT approve. later i told the new vet what they did and their jaw dropped. they told me they are NOT supposed to charge for transfering files. they did not say some places do and some dont, you just dont. and they use to work for karen who never took a fee. i called them they said they have a policy, too bad so sad. my business is with karen, they should be using her procedures if theyre going to use her name. i said its against the veterinary code of practice. they didnt care. luckily visa will be reversing the charges as soon as it moves from pending. especially since they charged me more than i authorized. if i cant trust these people with my credit card, how am i supposed to trust them with my cat??? sketchy, shady, unethical, avoid at all cost.

She has been with us through many difficult health issues with our various kitties during this time and has consistently provided excellent medical care, is very knowledgeable and on top of current medical treatment options, and always puts our cat's health and well-being before all. Dr Karen is a forthright, straight shooter. She isn't going to sugarcoat a diagnosis to make YOU feel better about your cat's health situation. We know our Kodiak, Mackenzie, Lulu, Sienna and now Max and Sumi all have benefitted from Dr Karen making THEM her priority. Their health and wellbeing is always the primary focus of her practice and we appreciate that. Yes, veterinary care can be expensive, but this is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for"... We are content in the knowledge that Dr. Karen would never recommend unnecessary treatments, charge unnecessary diagnostic fees, has consistently provided us with clear options and honest opinions about what she believes is in the best interest of our feline family member(s), and we KNOW we can trust her with our furkids. He was very reasonable with our concerns. We left feeling well supported and taken care of. The service was very quick, but that's okay because he helped our cat with her UTI. Our only point of criticism is that we were not informed about the dosages for the antibiotics. Just to be given twice a day. The bill came to $507, which is standard in the Vancouver area. The big ticket item was the urinalysis, which is necessary to see if it is more than a UTI. I would recommend this place. We really liked Dr. Dodds.

My vet is Dr Craven but I have seen both other vets on occasion and have been very happy with each of them. I now have a small puppy and again am confident in the care she is receiving. I do highly recommend this clinic and parking is usually easy which is a bonus!
