Everything is so clean and the atmosphere inside is calm and relaxing. When we first visited the hotel, we were amazed that the owner (Sandy) built a separate house on her property just for the cats. The hotel is immaculate and the floors are heated (for the kitties comfort). There are 2 levels to the facility, the larger rooms (floor to ceiling) on the lower level while smaller rooms are upstairs. The facility has a monitored fire/security alarm system. I am an anxious pet owner and knowing that the cats are here when we're away, I feel completely at ease because they are in excellent hands. Sandy asks for our vet information and any emergency contacts so that should something happens, she will make sure the cats get the help that they need. We have 2 cats and I always check them in to the "Emperor Suite", a pretty sizable corner room (floor to ceiling) overlooking the front yard. I would recommend making a reservation a few months in advance because every time I'm there, the hotel is usually quite full. Did I mention this place is ridiculously clean? She is easy to book, very responsive to questions. I have three boys in separate, custom enclosures, and they aren't great travelers. Leslie comes by once or twice a day to my apartment when I'm away and takes care of all the food, cleaning and treats that this little dudes require. She sends lots of pictures and updates. I'm very comfortable leaving them in her care. I believe she may have some boarding options available also for the littles. Highly recommended!

Our only point of criticism is that we were not informed about the dosages for the antibiotics. Just to be given twice a day. The bill came to $507, which is standard in the Vancouver area. The big ticket item was the urinalysis, which is necessary to see if it is more than a UTI. I would recommend this place. We really liked Dr. Dodds.

After an apartment fire forced me to relocate more than 50 km away--a valid reason for cancellation under their own contract--I tried to cancel my plan. Despite paying $1,464.66 and only using $338.89 worth of services, VCA kept $1,125.77 of my money! That's money I paid for services I never even used! To make matters worse, when I tried to transfer my plan to a new VCA hospital in my current city, they flat-out refused. So not only did they refuse to transfer my plan, they kept the money after I canceled. The entire contract is designed to exploit customers and squeeze out every penny, no matter the circumstances. This is a blatant money grab and feels heartless, especially considering I've lost everything in a fire. I expected care for my pet, but what I got instead was greed. Be cautious before signing up for this plan--it's unfair and completely lacks compassion. What makes it worse is the predatory practices that VCA engages in. When they automatically renewed my plan they had enrolled me in the wrong plan, and when I had realized this it was already past their arbitrary 60-day window to make changes. Their "options" to resolve the issue were: 1. Cancel my current plan, switch to a Senior Paws Plus plan (which would increase my monthly payments), applying the payments I had already made in the current plan and locking me into a new 12-month contract, 2. Stay on my current plan, get a $516.69 discount on a dental service (but still pay about $800 upfront for the procedure, including anesthesia, x-rays, meds, etc.). Lastly, when the plan was switched over, I was charged for the first month of the new plan and the last month of the old plan in the same month. The real insult? They're happy to offer a discount if I continue paying into their system, but they refuse to refund the excess money I paid for services I never used--money I can't afford to lose as a low-income individual living in social housing and currently without a home. I prioritize my pet's well-being, but clearly, VCA is more interested in draining their customers' wallets than actually helping them care for their pets. I am absolutely disgusted and extremely disappointed with VCA Canada CareClub's lack of ethics and compassion. Avoid them at all costs!

Everyone works to be…read morehelpful and compassionate, and Dr. Kayla is probably the kindest and most patient vet we've met in the 11 years I've had my girl. She spent time during our appointment not only answering questions, but sharing her knowledge and educating me on monitoring Casey's health as she ages. While she's still super active now, seeing my buddy grow older still breaks my heart...Feeling like I've found a vet I can rely on, communicate with, and trust is a huge comfort. Casey not only loves the vet, she loves the groomer! Would definitely recommend them as well. They're always happy to see her, are so gentle and patient with her, and communicate really well with both of us. **Updated review for June 13, 2023: Unfortunately, the vets we came to love have left PAWS. The experience we've had with the newest permanent vet was a bit unsettling and frustrating, but they still have one or two on staff (I believe they're there 2 days a week) that seem to be very kind and gentle. The techs are still wonderful and I'm trying to maintain continuity of care for Casey as she is a senior now, but I'm not sure where this leaves us long-term if I need a vet for another pet down the road.
