DO NOT take your dog to this place they are extremely unprofessional and there is zero transparency around pricing. The grooming service takes the entire day even when they say it shouldn't take very long. Truly terrible service and it's not worth half the price of what they charge. Don't take your dog to this place to be groomed if it has anything wrong with it's legs. My dog's leg sometimes gets a limp, but after giving anti-inflammatory medicine for a week, his leg goes back to normal with no limp. I had taken him to the vet and the X-ray didn't show any arthritis, so it was probably a tendon or muscle problem. He's 12 years old. The first time I took my dog to Pet Parlour, I told them about his leg and to be careful with him and if he wanted to lie down let him. When I picked him up he was fine. The second time I gave them a note saying to watch his left leg and if he wanted to lie down to let him lie down while being groomed. He was OK when I picked him up. I gave a note again for the third grooming and when I picked him up, this was August 23, I noticed him limping when I had him outside the door. I called Pet Parlour when I got home and told them he was limping and asked if they told the groomer what was in the note. They said that the groomer didn't read the note. So here we are a month later and his limp hasn't gotten better even with the medicine. It also cost me about 400.00 in vet bills. It is obviously a permanent limp now and he can't walk as far as he used to. He can only go on very short walks. I really feel like suing the woman that groomed him! I am so angry! She must have made him stand the whole time even though he was in pain! I'll never go to this groomer again and like I said, if your dog has any leg problems, don't take it to this place!!!! read more

This business has changed ownership and it's obvious. The current owner is rude and disrespectful and I'll outline why below. But first, she groomed my dog and cut/burned him, did not disclose this, and then returned a dog with an uneven haircut that I didn't ask for. I specifically asked for my pup's ears and tails not to be touched, they chopped them. They over clipped the nails to the point where it hurts the dog to walk. When asked to fix the uneven cut, the woman proceeded to scream and yell, and use profanities and would not de-escalate herself. The biggest insult - $150 price tag and she had the audacity to scream that "you didn't even thank me!" For a poorly cut and injured dog? This woman needs a reality check. I inherited a little Maltese dog from a woman who passed away in my building. Pet Parlour was the groomer she took him too so I continued to do so. I was warned by the woman's son he doesn't like to be groomed and can be a bit "difficult". And yet every time he comes back from the groomer he looks fantastic. They do an excellent job of grooming him. Also, my ancient old cat, who is now deceased, quit grooming himself and became matted. I took him to Pet Parlour for a "lion cut". Picture the biggest furriest dog you can. That is my dog. She's an 11 year old Old English Sheepdog, 110 pounds, with a double coat of fur that's 1 foot long. I brought her into Pet Parlour in bad need of a bath. Usually she's bathed once/month but it had been 3 months. She was very dirty and matted. The experts at Pet Parlour worked on her all day and de matted and bathed her. She came out looking squeaky clean and SO happy. Slurpee is sleeping better and walks around with her giant nose held high. These people really know what they're doing. I highly recommend them. read more

Pet Parlour has become our favourite spot to bring our dog. When we arrived in Vancouver, our pup was less than a year and he became a regular at their daycare. I wish I could give zero stars. I was recommended this groomer by several people but after my experience today I highly recommend looking else where. I have specific instructions on how I wanted my dog groomed. At first glance my dog looked great but when I looked closer I noticed they didn't follow my instructions and my dog was uneven. I tried to discuss with the women but she was short tempered and hot headed. She wouldn't even discuss the issue. Never in my life have I ever been treated that way. She was so unnecessarily rude and wouldn't give me a refund on my tip. Once I got home I noticed her belly was completely matted and I had to go in myself and trim the areas that were forgotten about. Overall horrible experience would never go back ever. read more

We have a high energy lab who needs a lot of exercise. She could literally play all day long. On days when we don't have enough time to properly exercise her we leave her at Pet Parlour to play with the staff and other dogs. Everyone has been excellent with her and have even emailed me pics of her, showing how happy she is We have not taken advantage of their groomers, however, if we needed grooming I would definitely feel confident leaving my animal with them. After my first positive experience with a sanitary trim here, I brought my cat back in for a full groom. At my request they were able to cut her to look like a short haired cat instead of the typical lion cut. It was the best looking cut she's ever had. At $70 + tax and tip it's also the cheapest cut she has had so I was satisfied all around. Surprisingly when I came to pick her up after her cut she was totally calm, so the groomers had obviously put her at ease. We used to take our dog to a different groomer in our old neighbourhood, and she was always really bummed out afterward. Once I looked up reviews for that place I immediately started looking for another groomer, and decided to try this place. I just got our dog home from her first full grooming at Pet Parlour and she is full of energy and obviously very happy. (She also looks great.) This is the best she's felt after a grooming session that I've seen since we adopted her 3 years ago. The staff were quite friendly, and they were very good about getting back to me when I called after hours. On top of all of this, they were very reasonably priced. I've taken my dog here twice to get groomed and WOW, they exceeded my expectations!! They did an amazing job! I've been to many groomers all over Vancouver, but no one has been able to groom my dog exactly the way I want...except for this place! I went back here a couple of weeks ago for doggy day care service. My dog does not have good teeth so I specifically asked his dry food to be soften in warm water for 5 minutes and then mix it with some raw food. My dog loves raw food but too much of that is bad for his teeth. My dog also has separation anxiety problem. Thus, I was nervous to leave him. When he has his anxiety lapse, he doesn't eat. And when he doesn't eat, he throw up because nothing is in his stomach. Furthermore, he needs to be on a harness and not a collar. Seriously - a high maintenance yorkie. As a result, this daycare service is a five stars because my dog came home happy. I know my dog is a lot to handle so thank you! read more

Always a pleasurable experience at that Pet Parlour. I have a Scottish fold and sometimes, felines need their spa days as well. The problem is that not all pet places serve feline, even more-- not all places know how to handle felines when it comes to showering and getting a haircut (grr to canines only places...I will hiss at you). I am VERY particular about leaving my beloved baby girl anywhere... After my last groomer moved out of the Vancouver area I went searching on yelp and found Pet Parlour, which is in my neighborhood. Appointments can be made within a day or two, and are quick, 1 - 2 hour sessions. No hanging out all day in wire cages here! She always comes out happy, calm, with a nice custom cut. As a part pom some places have tried to go very "lion cut" on her, which my husband hates. Here they modify it to a cute short cut that suits her shape. 100% recommend Victor and his team. read more

This was our 3rd visit to Pet Parlour. 1st visit they did a good job, it took 4.5 hours. The 2nd visit was not a as good as 1st visit. He was a little uneven in some spots and about another 4.5 hr visit. The 3rd visit was extremely disappointing. He was so uneven everywhere especially his head, his legs and his tail. They didn't even shave his belly. He still has grinch boots on his paws. They didn't touch his pawsHe looked like he had been cut with just scissors he was so choppy everywhere. The worst part was how long it took. We dropped him off for a 1:00pm appointment. They called us at 6:30 to say he was almost done. We picked him up at 6:45. He was there for 5.75 hours. I don't think he even got any water. We got home and he ripped to his water bowl and drank 2 bowls of water (He's never drank 2 bowls of water at one time). 5.75 hours and it was the worst grooming he has ever had. I emailed them with my concerns and never got a response. His previous groomers have never taken more than 3 hours to groom him. 5.75 hours is outrageous for grooming a 16.8 lb shih tzu, with no water, is pretty much torture. read more

The owners are real sweeties and although they moved 2 mins from my house on Fraser to Cambie, I still go there because I like supporting them. I took my cat to get groomed here, and it was first class service. I happen to live close by this place, and so I walk by a lot and talked to the owner a few times before I took my cat in. Victor is super friendly. The shop is always so clean and cute, and the dogs there seem really happy. My cat is long haired, and isn't the best at grooming himself....and he also HATES being groomed! I asked for a shave just around the bum/gential area (where he tends to get mats), and a nail trim. I work full time, so I dropped him off in the morning, and I even asked the owner if he would mind dropping my cat off in my apartment, so that he wouldn't have to be in a kennel all day. I almost never trust strangers in my apartment when I'm not there (plumbers, landlord, etc), so Victor really earned my trust! My cat seemed perfectly normal when I got home, and had a nicely shaved bum! Odd thing is, my cat started to groom himself much better after the shave, so I haven't had to take him back, but I wouldn't hesitate to do so if I needed to! Victor is wonderful - so friendly and welcoming, very professional, and clearly loves his doggy clients! I was happy that Victor insists on seeing proof of current vaccinations, and is careful of the dogs' temperaments. He sends an email update during the day, with a photo, which is a nice touch. And I love seeing the photos on Facebook. The location and hours are convenient for me, and parking is easy for drop-off and pick-up. The shop is new, spotlessly clean and very inviting, with a small but thoughtfully selected product line. The play area for the dogs is big enough with lots of beds and toys. We are SO LUCKY to have found Pet Parlour! Our 8 month old pup has been going here since she was 3 months old, for daycare whenever we can't take care of her or if we don't have enough time to give her the exercise she needs. She is a super high-energy mix of Vizsla/Husky/Australian Shepherd/?? and she always comes home calm and tired. She needs lots of training (we are currently enrolled in three training classes with her) partially because she has quite the stubborn streak, and Victor is great at ensuring that she doesn't get away with poor behaviour such as jumping up, etc. Victor, Patricia and the other staff are so friendly and professional, the place is decorated beautifully and is always very clean, and they really do maintain a very high staff-to-pet ratio, unlike so many of the other dog daycare facilities in Vancouver.
