My poor girl has puncture wounds on her face, ear, and front leg. She was bleeding and limping in agony when I saw her at the vet. The video footage clearly showed that my dog was walking normally and the attacking dog just ran over and attacked her from the back FOR NO REASON. However, Adventure Den has declined my request for obtaining the video footage. I will not stand for this kind of behavior. I have reported this incident to the city and will be pressing charges if necessary. It's absolutely unconscionable how dogs with such violent tendencies are allowed to pass the so-called temperament assessment in the first place. According to the staff member there, the attacking dog is not a perfect dog and has ALREADY SHOWN REACTIVITY in the past but never physically hurt another dog (yet). It appears that they are waiting for something like this to happen before banning the dog, which is absurd and unacceptable. Precautionary steps should have been taken long ago, and I'm deeply disappointed by their unprofessionalism. The staff-to-dog ratio in the video was also concerning: one staff member was overseeing 10-20 dogs when the incident happened. This is absolutely outrageous; a facility like this should NEVER be understaffed in any given moment. If you know you'll have fewer people working, you take in fewer dogs - it's that simple. This incident very much could've been avoided if the staff member was given a smaller group of dogs in which they could monitor the behaviors closely. If the facility continues with this ratio and un-thorough assessment, I fear that another dog will be seriously injured soon. On the bright side, after the incident happened, the staff member informed me immediately over the phone and took my dog to the vet very quickly. The other dog is now banned permanently, and the owner has offered to cover our medical bills. Thank you for making this experience less bad. But it doesn't change the fact that my dog is injured both physically and mentally, and it doesn't make up for the trauma she has experienced. I urge you not to take your dogs to this facility unless you are okay with putting them in danger. Wishing all the pups to stay safe and healthy.

They let a large (German shepherd) rescue dog in with the small dogs and puppies - when they, and the dogs owner did not know the history of the dog at all, and they owner had only owned the dog for 1 week. This dog in turn attacked our small breed dog (12 pounds) by picking him up by his back hips and shaking him back and forth. The reason we know this is what happened, is because the worker who witnessed it phoned us right away and told us. But then later when we got a letter from the owner of "a spot for spot" explaining what happened, she made up a completely different story. To add insult to injury she claimed our dog was the one at fault for being attacked. This resulted in injury and pain to our dog. He needed attention from our vet at financial cost to us. This would be less disturbing if we had not had an agreement with the shop about our dog. He is an intact show dog. We knew this could put him at rick so we told them specifically to keep him separate from other dogs as much as possible, and if he was socialized to only have him around dogs his own size. This was ignored. Also the rescue dog was supposed to be kept away from other dogs as well, and as written by the Daycare owner this dog was let loose with the other dogs. After the incident they refused top put us in contact with the owner of the offending dog. They instead, gave our information to her and gave her the option to contact us if she wished to work out the situation. Fortunately she did (after several weeks of us following up with a spot for spot). We got the money back from the trip to the vet - but now our dog is very afraid of other dogs that approach him. He used to be the friendliest dog with no fear of other dogs at all but now unfortunately this is no longer the case. Key points to take away: disregard for instructions leading to dog injury crass handling of the situation after without compassion 2 different stories from the owner, and the worker who witnessed refusal to put customer in contact with the offending dogs owner no offer of any sort of compensation from the shop Make an informed decision before you decide where to leave your loved one.

For those effected, some of the dogs may have gotten sick, having diarrhea issues or worse. Granted it was possible some else's dog had it, but what kind of daycare doesn't clean enough to maintain a clean environment for our loved ones. Don't count on your dog being able to be playful either. If there is any possibility that the dogs might play with each other and become a bit vocal, they are shutdown and put away in crates for a "time out" until their bad behavior is over. This more like a POW Camp than a day care of dogs. Leave your dogs here at your own risk! If they do something wrong, the owner will try to make you pay for damage from the dogs not being supervised and taken care of. Read that contract before you sign up and ask if you can view the areas your pets will be in. You might be able to at the end of the day, but that's so you don't see what happens during normal business hours.

He is anxious, and there were times he did not play appropriately with smaller dogs (he had too much energy, and he does not always recognize/respond to the other dog's body language of "please give me space." They gave me great feedback on how he was doing, but his trainer and I decided that daycare for my anxious dog would not let him be "his best self." I then transitioned him to their Woofer Walker Munchkin March pack walks, which is a much better fit for him. He gets to socialize with the other dogs in the pack walk, run himself silly, and sniff everything (animate and inanimate). Obi would walk over my dead body to get to Woofer Walker Judy! He is so excited when it is Woofer Walker day that he waits by the front door, staring at it until he hears the van pull up, and then loses his mind. Judy is very patient with his excitement. They let me know which days would be the best fit for him regarding the other dogs' personalities and play styles, so he goes every Tuesday and Thursday. They also post videos of some of the highlights of the walks and post pictures - it is the highlight of our evening to watch the videos! As I met more people, I had several people tell me about Woofer Walkers and decided to try them. My dog is always excited to go to daycare when we arrive. He loves so many of the staff and I always feel like Ali'i is in good hands. There were a couple of times when I had emergencies come up and the crew was always ready to receive Ali'i... they are always patient and understanding when things come up. One of the best places I STILL take Ali'i when I have to go away for the week or even just a day in daycare. Thanks to Bella, Justin, and crew for keeping our pups safe!

The shuttle service is super convenient (now Monday to Friday), especially when you factor in the cost of taking the ferry to Bowen Island to drop your pup off. We picked out dog up once and it ended up costing more than the shuttle. Here's the kicker... it's comparably priced to boarding your dog in the city. We had a last minute invitation to go kayaking on Bowen Island with our friends. So we asked the…read moreB.I. Kayak company if they could recommend a place to take our dog on the island and they said hands down "The Dog Ranch". I called and the ranch was closed on Friday night but Cam returned my call and happily said he would take our dog the next day. From that moment forward I was greeted with friendly, professional service. When we arrived our 10 month old puppy happily followed Cam behind the gate which showed us she felt safe there and trusted Cam. The facility looked amazing from what we could see and we felt very confident that this was a dog haven! At the end of the day we were rushed to get back to the ranch and noticed there was a Dog Ranch van that said shuttle services on it and I thought perhaps I could request a shuttle to the ferry for our puppy and Cam was amazing again and said "No problem I'm on my way there already" Our puppy was so relaxed and content when he dropped her off. This was her first "kennel" experience and if we lived closer I wouldn't hesitate to bring her back. Great Work, Great Place , Great people!!! Thank you so much Dog Ranch :)
