It took us 20 minutes to be sat even though they were not even halfway packed and had full staff. Then took another 12 minutes to get our drink order. After 15 minutes we finally got our beers and they were barely cold. Once we were able to order our food the food did come out in a timely manner but was lacking flavor. To get our checks we had to ask 3 different staff members including our server. Our server only checked in on us twice the whole time. As someone who used to be in the food industry this overall experience greatly saddens me. As this was my first time I will most likely not be returning. read more

They have very good wheel chair seating for five at he far end of the bar. Staff was very helpful during a busy pre mariner game visit. read more

Going to cut to the chase. Two stars: this place is right across the street from T-Mobile park (very convenient), and that's how we ended up going because of a pre-game. My family ordered pep pizza, chicken sandwich, and the fish and chips. Service was fast and friendly, but the food was something else. The pizza was swimming in grease which my 11-year old had, and made him double over 30 mins after eating because he felt sick to his stomach. My daughter had the chicken sandwich, and she said after eating it that her "stomach feels like it's in knots." Then the fish and chips I had was just all batter, barely any fish, and likewise greasy which also made me nauseous. read more

Came to Seattle to escape the heat from SoCal. Stopped by before going to the baseball game across the street. Packed spot, so we knew it would be good. The host, informed our party, they were understaffed and apologized for any inconvenience. Staff: Welcoming and friendly. Food: Waitress recommended the Mac and Cheese with chicken. Vegan burger was good. The cashew spread was good. I would have liked the spread to have a spicy kick to it but overall, no complaints. Pizza: Good. No issues Overall the vibe was good, lots of people. read more

Hatback Bar & Grille - American Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Great spot for food and drinks before a game! Can get busy but all employees are very attentive, nice flow between getting seated and served. Lemon rosemary chicken was very underwhelming, chicken was well cooked and moist but EXTREMELY bland. The potatoes were great, highly recommend the shrimp tacos super flavorful! read more

Half price burgers & pizza after the Seattle Mariners game, plus tasty beer. We would go there again.

Waiter completely ignored myself and my son after mariners game took order for people who came in after us when I asked why had no reason hopefully it wasn't because we are people of color read more

Had a great meal here today after breaking down the boat show... The shrimp tacos were really good. Their sea salt fries are great too. Lots of beers on tap too. Serving was not overly cheerful like the server we had last time. But she was pleasant enough. read more

Such a bad experience... maybe the worst thing ever... came after a game and they couldn't have been worse. Obviously understaffed. Then got accosted when I asked if they could light my table candle. Staff was a full... food was marginal... experience sucked... would fire the staff if they worked for me . 0 stars. Go elsewhere read more

In Seattle on a last minute decision and surprised to see previous "establishment"no longer here. Glad I tried Hatback. A bit pricey but everything is these days! Timely service and friendly staff. Great place and I will come back when visiting Seattle. read more

Great Service, even better food... Very impressed with the quality and selection. This is NOT your bar food sports bar... This is really classy gourmet food with a sports theme... Was super surprised to see them open on a non-Mariner game day & just learned they are open for lunch daily... I would have taken a picture but my wife ate it before I could get a picture Highly recommend the made in house Strawberry Shortcake read more

It was the first Sounders match since Hatback opened. It's AWESOME to have the space reopen for pregame/prematch fun. We arrived about 2 1/2 hours before the match and headed immediately into the beer garden. You can buy tickets for beer (couple of the Metier beers on tap) or seltzer (great they support local San Juan!). They also have grilled dogs and sausages outside - so if that works for your pregame, you'll be set. It is +21 (restaurant is all ages) We had a beer outside, and as the line to get into the restaurant made it out to 1st Ave, we got into the queue. Hatback opens "2 hours before" games, but they actually started seating people a bit before that time. Inside, the space is stunning. Currently only the downstairs is open (I think plans are eventually the upstairs will open), and the old Pyramid store is yet open (hoping there will eventually be Hatback/Steelhead merch). We're as much a baseball fam as we are soccer - my kid recognized the Griffey and Edgar bats from across the room - had to get closer to read another was Alvin Davis's) Food options are pretty decent for pregame, though the kitchen is still working out kinks. My son had Mary's Chicken, and I had the Hatback burger. Mary makes a tasty chicken, though it's a pretty small leg/thigh for the $28. The burgers are smash burgers (makes sense as those cook really fast, helpful when the pregame window is a bit tight). Part of my bun was heavily toasted (burnt), and a couple tables over someone else bun had met an even worse fate the, and they sent it back. Burger itself was tasty, though super light on the tomato-bacon jam. When you add fries, it comes out to $21. Table next to us got the pizza to share (another dad & son). Just the right amount of blistering on the 12 inch pie, and they had only good things to say about it, Inside they have the Metier Blackstripe Coconut porter. 100% of the time I see a coconut porter I haven't tried - I'm ordering it. Metier's isn't bad - but more cocoa forward than coconut. Service - spot on. Accommodated our ask to sit in Steelhead Alley area drink orders and offer to put in an app order came within 2 minutes of seating - again key with limited pregame time. Overall - ambience, service, beer 5 stars. Food taste 4 stars. Food price/value solid 3. Not bad at all for a place just opened and navigating M's, Sounders, and soon Hawk pregame crowds. read more

The food is really good but the timing is frustrating. Especially for afternoon games on the weekend it would be great to have earlier opening hours since you have to rush to eat in order to get to your game. And this is not including the inconsistent wait times. It's a great place with kids but the unknown waiting times is stressful with them too read more

Really good service. Outstanding hamburger. Pretzel app was very good. Tacos very good. Super clean- Steelhead side has some very cool memorabilia. We went on a non-game day so plenty of seating and parking. read more

Great food and friendly staff! Great place to go before a game or concert! Beer garden is fun, too!

They had a really rough launch last year, but they finally found their stride and it's a decent spot for pregame now. The system they have for getting in needs some work, but once you actually get to your table the menu is decent and the collection of local beers is just what you're looking for before the game starts. read more

Here from Alaska for St. Louis cardinals game . We had hatback burger and the ultimate pretzel very good !! Love love love the mustard for the pretzel but it's not really a pretzel it's good bread. Tons of beers on tap plus a cider and seltzer . read more

Rating is only for the beer garden. I hope this is because the weather just started getting nice and they have not works out the kinks. In the beer garden you have to buy a drink ticket. Then you take the ticket to the bar. So, you stand in line twice. Its pretty inefficient. Further, you add your tip when you buy the ticket. Lastly, in my experience, we were unaware of the ticket system so stood in line at the bar. Bartender did not ask for the ticket upon ordering. This led us to stand in line 3X. read more

Great atmosphere. Great staff. Made sure to specify I wanted my burger well done. It came medium-rare. No time to send it back before needed to leave for game. Wait staff comment was all burgers are smash burgers and always come well done. Apparently then, there is something wrong in the kitchen. Guests I was with really enjoyed their salads. I will go back and give them another chance at a well-done burger. read more

We've been to this place a couple times just because it's the site of our previous favorite hangout, pyramid brewing. This time we came in, we're told we could seat ourselves in the bar is it was open seating. This was a fairly calm Monday night game. We sat there for a bit only to be told the tables weren't self seating. Okay cool, so we walk back to the hostess table to sent us that way only to be sat a couple tables away. The food and drink selections are not that great not to mention one wall changes the menu from things you can order to things you can. Friggin figure it out, you have all these sports fans just looking for an easy dining/drinking experience before and after the game, stop getting in your own way read more

We had pizza which was super yummy. We got three kinds and they were all great. Service was good.

Everything was amazing. We went on a non event day so the place wasn't packed. The blanco pizza was so good! We will definitely be back. read more

We stopped by here for lunch before the mariners open house today. I left very unhappy, and unsatisfied. We ordered hot pretzel, fish and chips, and pacific mussels. The pretzels were good, you actually get 2 hot pretzels for $10. The fish was below average. It was rockfish which is a very good fish, however this was overly grease, and the frys were marginal at best. I love fresh mussels, but these were the worst I've ever had. They were cooked with shredded cabbage and a curry broth. I'm not sure if they were bad mussels, or if the broth made them taste that way, but after 2, I didn't feel safe, nor did I want to eat more. They tasted like rotten cabbage with a strong curry flavor. I sent them back and wasn't offered anything instead. It took what seemed like forever to get service to ask for the check. I sat with an empty beer glass for at least 15min. When the check finally arrived the server said the best he could do was take $5 off of a $70 bill. Ill never return.. Terrible food, and even worse service.. read more

A group of us went to the Stranger things event and wanted to grab something in the area. We ordered some apps the avacado dip , onion rings, sea salt fries (the best app) and a pretzel to start. The only thing that was good was the fries, really you can't go wrong with fries. Anyways, we order margarita pizza, cesar salad, stake salad, Mac and cheese, shrimp tacos and three burgers. My bill came up to 270, the kids didn't eat the burgers and one throw it up at the table. The food was tasteless, nobody eat it and had ordered pizza when we got home. Maybe the food is good to somebody but I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came here for a pre-game meal with friends. Their hours do not make any sense for the only restaurant available near the stadium. They should really open an hour earlier. They would make more money, not rush/flood their kitchen with orders and have much happier customers! Regardless of that, their restaurant was just okay. Wait staff was incredibly nice, but the food was not great and the tables and menus were dirty (even though they just opened). Their online menu also shows that fries come included with the burgers, but the physical menu shows fries are $3 extra (see photos). Overall, you're better off just grabbing a bite inside the stadium. The price and quality of food is exactly the same, if not better in the stadium. read more

This is a review of the food trucks stationed in the beer garden area. My wife and I were in town for a concert at T-Mobile and went to Victory hall for a pre show beer and burgers. The beer is cold and tasty. The ambiance is, as always, fun and buzzing with activity. The food... epic failure! We ordered smash burgers with fries. The beef couldn't have been more dried out. The buns were big, thick, cold and slightly stale. They totally overtake the small meat patty. I'd like to comment on the fresh toppings but there weren't any. Seriously just a beef patty some special sauce and a mega bun. If we weren't tapped for time and weren't so hungry these things would have been returned or tossed out. As it was we spent $40+ dollars for a couple of dried out burgers I wouldn't feed to my dog. Skip these food trucks and get something from one of the venders outside the stadium. read more

Meh. Relies on being by the ballpark. Food is very average - at best. Service is just ok

Went to Hatback with a good friend prior to an m's game tonight. Beautiful space, incredible. We each get a beer, and the nachos to share. No joke... & I mean no joke... there were 11 chips on the plate. With all the toppings. Honestly I never write these. But this was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen at a restaurant in my 37 years on earth. This head chef has zero clue. Hope they make changes, fast... read more

Great service and really enjoyed my meal! It was a good place to go before the Mariner's game.

Went yesterday during the 8th inning of the M's game. Got a table. Service was quick and the beer options were good. I ordered the Steelhead Burger. Terrible. So dry. The bun was dry and absorbed the tiny bit of "special sauce" that was applied. The burger was a smash-burger, so burned edges, thin and also very dry. There was supposed to be American cheese, but all I could see was some orange color between the 2 patties where most all the cheese had been scraped off. The fries were soft and I was told there was no tartar, only the small ketchup pot. Probably the worst burger I've ever eaten... read more

Sat at the bar for 10min before I was acknowledged (solo female) while the groups of men sitting around me were getting greeted and served immediately and more frequently than me. Poor quality service and food. Probably because they're still figuring it out, but food and menu is underwhelming especially for the prices and the hype. Probably won't come back unless menu changes. We were there at about 11am for a 1pm Mariners game, and there was a line out the door. We were seated quickly, though. Our waiter was wonderful (Einstein? I think his name was) and the drinks and food were also great! First we had nachos and a pretzel. My husband and friend both got pizzas and they were tasty and decent sized. The chicken sandwich looked amazing but too stacked to eat easily, still very yummy. I had shrimp tacos and they were the bomb! This is a great before-game place, loved it. read more
