The guy there Nir the owner is so friendly and down to earth and knowledgeable. I shared with him all the scents I've worn and stuff on my list to smell and he recommended so many fragrances and had his own line of fragrances that absolutely blew me away. Expect to spend $8-10 for a small sample and $100-150-200+ for a nice sized bottle, and travel sizes in the $40-50 range--- but they have many discovery scents so you can take home, try and decide if a scent is for you, which is in my opinion the way to go. Then you can come back and get a full sized of your favorites with no pressure to make a selection on the spot. Very cool stories behind the scents, brand and perfumer and personal connections and relationships with the makers, which really adds to the experience. You can find stuff here you literally can't find anywhere else. All under one roof a ton of lines. Spectacular.

A recurring theme of this list is that these places... for me personally... were hidden in plain sight. When I looked them up I wondered each time, why haven't I been there before? So what's the deal with Venus? The shop looks dated, but they have something you want... maybe? On this side you have watches and pretty much everywhere else you have scents... women's on that side and guys on the other side. I wasn't wowed by the selection but it's nothing to sneeze at. This guy has a some classics, some originals (before reformulation), and some current offerings you'd find at the mall. To each his own, who knows what you might find here? Straight off the gate, he has my 2 current go to scents I've been wearing for years... before I decided to get back into the fragrance game. You have my attention right there. I think Venus has mostly designer stuff with some classics sprinkled in (Kourous, Fahrenheit, Lapidus, Rive Gauche, ...that sort of thing). The owner said that he could make special orders through his connects depending on what you're looking for. They allow testing if a bottle is open already and I think they even do decants if they have enough bottles in stock. I haven't taken advantage of that, but it's very cool. I'd have to go back and really see what's available for decant. PRO-TIP: A decant is a smaller side bottle (bigger than a sample) siphoned off the original for a fraction of the price.

Two stars only for this one associate who helped me before. More on that later…read more... BUT ZERO STARS FOR THE STORE & OTHER PERSONNEL. Came in on a Sunday looking for eye shadows. The banner by the store said that they had some 30% deal going on, store was empty, and had two associates on staff. When I came in, they were loudly discussing how someone said something to them and how they were upset ( the usual "she said he said"...). I went to one of the make up stands to see what eye shadow it had. The samples had VISIBLE DUST AND HAIR IN THEM. I went around to more stands, looked at skin care stuff too. Really wished one of them would break from their drama & help me, but no. No other person walked in, I was the only one, but none of them paid any attention. They also never told me about that 30% deal. I came in here before on two occasions & there was this one associate, cute blond young girl, who would always help me. And I bought multiple things both times! And because of her recommendations I made a third purchase online. But this time she wasn't there, and those other associates didn't help me, and I really needed help picking eyeshadows. So I walked out without a purchase. I will not be back!

I wanted an actual in person opinion before dropping that kind of money. I asked an associate about a few options, told her what I've used before, what I was looking for, just trying to give context. It was busy, so I get that it's hectic. But she was clearly over it. Eyes glazing over, super short responses, that vibe where someone is already tired of you and you just started talking. She basically pointed at one product and kind of brushed me off. The frustrating part is I was already leaning toward that exact serum. I just wanted confirmation or a little insight. Instead I felt like I was inconveniencing her for asking basic questions in a store that literally sells beauty advice as part of the experience. Sephora is already pricey, so the whole reason I went in instead of ordering online was for guidance. If I'm going to get treated like that, I might as well just click buy from home next time. Cashiers were nice though. So at least checkout didn't feel awkward.

I have DK Good Girl which I would need to spray way in advance. Marc Jacob Daisy is my most recent. As I grew older the Spider Senses became stronger. Lol Ms Dorthy suggested several fragrances. I went with a travel of a Jo Malone. I am not built for the cold and spoke with Kimberly about hair hydration. I went with her recommendation of a Briigeo Travel Kit. Kind recommendations. My best friend and I booked the Eau de Parfum experience at…read moreLoomen Labs. We bought the sample package which included perfume making for 1 hour and 30 mins and three 10ml samples. The doors won't open until 5 minutes before your reservation time so I stood outside the entrance and waited until the doors were unlocked. Overall, the experience was fine but I felt like I wasn't given enough attention because there were larger parties/others who purchased the more expensive deluxe package at our reservation. My friend was running a bit behind due to an accident on 95. Loomen Labs has a grace period of 10 minutes. The woman working there said after 10 minutes it would be considered a reschedule. My friend arrived after 10 minutes and the employee said I would have to catch her up to speed on everything on my own. Again, I totally didn't mind doing this. Towards the end, it felt like the experience was rushed. The woman working there was not enthusiastic about anything and answered questions with a slight attitude. I could feel the energy shifting as the night went on. After I got my perfume alcohol mixed in with my preferred scents, I filled up the 10ml sample bottles. It turned out to be enough perfume to fill only two and a half. The third one was only halfway full. Not sure where I went wrong with that. The interior is tiny and the tables are not that far apart so that's something to consider if you book on a busier day with other guests present.
