As good as it gets for a male grooming experience. I had an appointment with Nino the Nice and he took some much time to learn exactly what I wanted done with my beard. He took painstaking care to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a high quality beard sculpting. There were no issues that I had with anything at Maestro's. They took every measure to ensure I was comfortable and taken care of. I was over satisfied with the fine job they did. Want A terrible haircut in a great looking spot for $40 Bucks? Then head on over to maestros speakeasy. I planned ahead, did my research and grew my hair out for 5 months only to have Nino The nice ( who btw is a very nice guy) butcher me. Even if he didn't hear me or listen to me say I'd like to get rid of the bulk and leave the length like a short surfer cut 3 times and went ahead and cut my hair short he should be ashamed at how he left the back of my head. I don't need a toupe so why was my hair cut to look like one. Who the hell knows. While I didn't have to ask for my money back I do have to live with the fact that I'm depressed over the whole situation. Luckily I googled hair fixers and found someone to cut the back even it out although now it's buzzed to skin. All that gorgeous hair gone. Funny Nino touts himself and loving to work with longer hair so what gives. In any event the fixer Hair dresser agreed it was a an embarrassingly bad cut. If I wasn't truly furious I wouldn't write this review but I think people should know what their getting into. Spend a bit more money and go into nyc or philly. I've learned my lesson read more

It doesn't leave a greasy residue in your beard and maintains a natural look while allowing you to shape your hedge as you see fit. The fragrance lasts too! 11 hours later and I can still smell the aroma of Tobacco and Vanilla. The staff is accommodating, willing to answer your questions and assist you with your purchase. While the grooming products are fair, I had unpleasant and unprofessional encounters with staff after frequenting for several months. The are many men's grooming facilities in the area and in greater Philadelphia for a consumer to have bad experiences and be subjected to poor treatment. read more

Fantastic staff. Fantastic decor and interior design. Fantastic products. The location is easy to reach from I-95. Make sure you bring some quarters, as street parking requires using a parking meter. The place was so cool that I wanted to just hand out in the lounge. It's a unique experience which harkens back to simpler times when men were men. This is definitely a gentlemens haven. I left having my head and beard fit perfectly and I made sure to purchase two bottles of beard wash and two containers of beard butter. The 8 oz Wisemen's Blend and the Mark of a Man blend are both great. Call ahead and set up an appointment. Plan to spend a minimum of $50.00 and add another $30-$40 for some premium products. It's worth the price. I saw another review saying that "they messed up my hair", but I'm not believing it. I think maybe someone was either trying to tarnish Maestro's reputation or was simply butthurt that the cost of the service wasn't $6 like those Asian run chop shops on Kensington Avenue. Whatever. I came home after my cut and beard sculpting and my wife practically raped me. LOL. Good work Maestro's. I'm looking great, feeling great and looking forward to my next appointment where I will also be bringing my son. Big ups to the barber who cut my hair. Exactly the perfect historical establishment is a widely known historical town, this shop not only makes you feel like you have walked into an escape of the typical bubble gum shops that have no life or ambiance, but the pride and hospitality makes you not want to leave. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and after getting passed the awe of the attention to detail in the atmosphere, was super pleased at the amount of methodical element that was put into the cut and geniality that was shown to make that day a memorable one. I do not believe any of the negative reviews as I can only believe that in this line of work envy and bitterness plays a part. You have to experience it for yourself as from my own personal experience with Yelp, it is a portal for resentful people who TRY to harm a great business due to their own inhibition or diffidence.
