Small shop with a huge selection of high quality niche perfume, some indies and all the big (non-designer) names in mid to small production. The guy there Nir the owner is so friendly and down to earth and knowledgeable. I shared with him all the scents I've worn and stuff on my list to smell and he recommended so many fragrances and had his own line of fragrances that absolutely blew me away. Expect to spend $8-10 for a small sample and $100-150-200+ for a nice sized bottle, and travel sizes in the $40-50 range--- but they have many discovery scents so you can take home, try and decide if a scent is for you, which is in my opinion the way to go. Then you can come back and get a full sized of your favorites with no pressure to make a selection on the spot. Very cool stories behind the scents, brand and perfumer and personal connections and relationships with the makers, which really adds to the experience. You can find stuff here you literally can't find anywhere else. All under one roof a ton of lines. Spectacular. read more

As a perfume nerd who traveled from out of state to check this place out, I genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. Nir and his team were unbelievably knowledgeable and lovely to talk to. We spent 1.5 hours in here and it was entirely too short. Went home with some very exciting samples and have been daydreaming about visiting again since! read more

Beautifullly set up displays with so many niche brands. Spent over 3 hours picking out my perfumes. Owner and staff super friendly, never pushy. Love that you can touch and spray all the fragrances yourself and there's never a time limit like some places in ny that rush you out of the store if it gets a little crowded. Definitely going back again! cant wait wait to see what they have in the spring/summer read more

Definitely check it out. Small but quality collection of niche fragrances. If you're in Philly or visiting stop by. read more

Perfumology is everything that's right in fragrance and small business alike. The store is about an hour away from me, so I've only visited three times, but I've had such an in depth and satisfying experience every time. The owners are truly passionate about fragrance, and they will spend as much time with you helping you choose the right scent as they possibly can. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding of what you're looking for, but they also don't push anything on you that you're not loving. Their selection is awesomely niche, and while most bottles here are pricey, this is perfume as art. Art is often expensive. Most of the lines they carry are in line with higher end designer prices and other niche perfume websites, but their difference is in the care you get when you visit in person. Cannot recommend enough. Also, ask them about their store's line of fragrances. They're unique but not weird, and had I not come to the store with a favorite already in mind to purchase, I would have had a very difficult decision as to which I would choose. Just lovely! read more

I can't recommend Perfumology enough. As someone who lives in a small city, this was my first time being introduced to many of these brands. Brian was absolutely fantastic and a wealth of knowledge while also giving me enough freedom to explore their collection at my own pace. This will be my first stop next time I'm in Philadelphia! read more

Nir is so kind, friendly and knowledgeable! The perfume inventory is massive and has something for everyone, no matter what type of scent you're looking for. Will definitely be ordering all of my niche perfumes from Perfumology! read more

Someone told me about this place and I decided to visit for something nice. Customer The guy was super helpful with recommendations once I let him know what I liked. I also received a price match on something. Which helped with my purchase. And it was offered to me. I didn't know it was possible. Will definitely be back. Everything is online now. And for fragrance, you need to go to an actual brick and mortar. If it's a newer scent, how do you know it's your scent without smelling it. Would recommend. read more

this is a great retail shop in a place that is bereft of retail shopping. it's the only place in the city you can purchase REAL niche perfumes. i am a perfume collector so I know a bit about perfumes and the owner of the store is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. i 100% recommend this gem of a place for all your gift/perfume needs. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a few weeks! My husband and I took a long weekend trip to Philly, and stopped into Perfumology. We love checking out shops that have niche or hard to find perfumes, and this one was AWESOME. They had a ton of brands that I haven't been able to smell personally -- it is such a luxury to be able to smell all of these in one go instead of ordering pricey samples online!! Nir, the "Chief Perfumologist," was super fun to talk to and really helpful. He and my husband really got into the Zoologist scents, of which some are an...acquired taste. ;-) I think my favorite thing about the shop was how excited the two owners were about the scents and that they didn't hover or ask folks not to test the perfumes. We both ended up buying scents -- I purchased a small bottle of the Xerjoff Lira (love it -- may end up with a full bottle eventually), and my husband bought the delicious Imaginary Authors Saint Julep. Thank you for talking with us for over an hour, Nir! We had a great time. read more

extremely kind, informative and attentive staff. had such a fun experience trying to hunt down some of my while whale fragrances xx

If I could give this business more stars, I would. I'm going to butcher his name but he's a newer employee, Jeffrey or Jefferson (I'm so sorry - names are not my forte) and he deserves all the credit in the world for this review. I have a nice collection of niche cologne but this store knocks it all out of the park. It was my first time in and I've been dying to go. I wanted something for a bachelor party and wedding I'm going to soon, and he very quickly understood my nose palate and likes. We probably sampled 50 together, and I am very discerning in my taste. He enjoyed some of my disgusts and likes and we laughed together through it all. I was thankfully alone in the store and the patience he had was immeasurable. I was actually tired after having gone through them all. Our system was pretty good though. The biggest kudos to him was his ability to track what was happening and where my top 8 skin tries were. And when I had an unknown paper trial, he either remembered or smelt it and nailed it. His knowledge of scents was boundless. I will be back, 100% read more

I used to live in the Philly area 8 years ago (Now in CA) and visit pretty frequently. Perfumology is always at the top of my list to stop by when I'm back on the east coast. Everything is organized, displayed beautifully and inviting. Nir is very knowledgeable and passionate about finding a perfume that you truly love. I've found many favorite scents there. Spend plenty of time sniffing everything and enjoy the experience. It's so lovely there. read more

Recently stopped in after my nail appointment @Lacquer Lounge. Perfumology was a welcome surprise. Unique perfumes from across the globe right here in Philly. The customer service was superb with a staff member pulling testers based on my likes/dislikes in a scent. I purchased a few scents and I'm already planning my return to get a full size of one the travel sized perfumed I purchased. Definitely a must visit in Philly. read more

This store is my go to for all new releases of niche perfumes. It's also a family run operation and they started making their own line of perfume which is a must try. "Grange" and "Boutique" are two of my personal favorites from their custom scents. In a sea of copy cat scents their signature line is unlike anything I've smelled before. They carry a wide variety of niche brands and even host some of the perfumers for events. Great for samples or full bottle purchases. Staff is super down to earth and not over bearing, all in all 10/10 recommend! read more

Nir is passionate, patient, and has a remarkable nose for both quality and popularity. Perfumology features distinct niche fragrances from around the globe. I love coming here...the best scents + the nicest and most knowledgeable people. Small batch products from companies around the world.

After hearing rave reviews, I signed up for their monthly subscription option (my kryptonite) so that I can sample scents from afar (Denver!) This was 2 hours ago, and my order has already shipped. I'm amazed! I've been communicated with throughout the entire process, and it was simple and fast. I cannot wait to get my subscription samples in the mail and will certainly be back to purchase candles and full size products! read more

I just LOVE Nir and the entire team at Perfumology. I love that they stock distinctive niche fragrances that are hard to find. It's so much fun to go into the store and explore, and Nir and the team are patient, extremely knowledgable, and patient. There's zero pressure to buy and everyone is extremely helpful. The service they offer is way above and beyond what you'll find in a department store, and the fragrances are all unique. I could spend hours there (okay, I did) and I'll be back! read more

A friend sent me to Perfumology after having such a great experience. I know I am often suspect of kiosks - but it is their aggressive nature that makes people apprehensive. Perfumology isn't like other kiosks. They aren't pushy by any means. In fact, they are quite knowledgeable in their wares. Plus you can sample till your heart, er nose, is content. I once bought a perfume that I loved from Anthropologie, but once it was gone, I didn't know where to get it again. When I stopped by Perfumology, they didn't have the perfume, but I told the salesman the name and color of the bottle. Like a sommelier, he was able to recommend 4 other perfumes that were similar in scent. I liked 2 and tried each one on each wrist. I took a stroll to see which one worked with my own scent and landed at Ferragamo's Incanto Bloom. I don't think I would have found this perfume on my own. I love it, but more importantly, everyone I come across loves it too. The perfume industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. Everyone has their hat in the game - even Snooki and Bruce Willis have their own scents. It is hard for the average person to navigate the many options - plus your nose gets tired of all that sniffing. It is always great help when you come across someone who knows their stuff. read more

I happened across this shop today while I was in Old City, and I am so happy I did. The proprietor was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about perfume. He reminded me (and please take this the right way) of the luggage salesman in the movie Joe Vs the Volcano. I left feeling better prepared for the challenges of the world outside. Really delightful. read more

My daughter and I had the most incredible experience at Perfumology today. Nir was super freaking awesome, knowledgable and patient as we made our way around the store, sniffing our way through niche bliss! Perfumology is truly a fragrance lover's dream! They carry Zoologist, Roja, BDK, Kajal, Xerjoff, you name it! We could've walked around and discussed fragrance for hours. Nir also was kind enough to allow my daughter to pick out her own samples. I came here with my sister after someone recommended it, and we were not disappointed!! The owner had a massive depth of knowledge and he was so kind and patient with us. He listened to our needs and gave us excellent recommendations. I'm so excited about what I got!! There are so many brands, almost all of which I'd never heard before. A great option for those who want to experiment with different styles, but there are also tons of options for people with more traditional tastes. Some for the older and for the younger, some for the inexperienced and the seasoned perfume lover. I will surely stop by every time I'm in Philly...can't wait to come back! read more

While browsing in Downtown Philadelphia with my fiancé, she wanted to stop past Perfumology located on 3rd Street right off Market. She was super excited to show me this hidden gem because she is what I call a fragrance God. As soon as we walked into the store, we were greeted by Nir the owner who was the epitome of spectacular. My fiancé told me about this gentleman before, but it was great to put a personality to a face. Nir immediately began giving me a tour of the store asking me about the type of fragrances I prefer. Although this shopping experience was for my fiancé to kick off her birthday week, I had to indulge. Nir began showing off everything. Things he thought we would love, hate, and some we may second guess. They experience was awesome. We conversed for about 2 hours all about different scents, brands, and perfumers. In those moments I felt extremely catered to. It reminded me of the time I visited an oil factory in Egypt. The experience was very intoxicating. At the end of our experience, we ended up purchasing Blackberry Woods which happens to be one of my ultimate favorites, and Clutch by Perfumology, along with a couple of samples. The total price was about $200 with tax however the customer service was A1...can't put a price on that! I will definitely be coming back to purchase more items. If you are looking for a new perfume or cologne to add to your collection, please look no further. Perfumology has everything you need and MORE! read more

This shop is a true gem. I love that it's a family owned business, but beyond that, this mother and son team were so welcoming, warm, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about fine and niche fragrance houses. My sister and I had the luxury of being alone in the store, and I smelled at least 20 different things. They never rushed us, and I ended up leaving with 3 fragrances I am absolutely thrilled to add to my collection. If you love perfume, visiting this store is an absolute must! I will definitely be back the next time I visit Philly. read more
