    BBQ Hash

This is a San Antonio Vegan Restaurant that's been open Since October 2020. Robert was our host/server (he's a very nice people person). The kids had Waffles & BBQ Cauliflower hash. Hubby had Buffalo cauliflower tacos. I had BBQ cauliflower tacos. Hubby and I shared an order of BBQ cauliflower hash and a waffle. This food was flavorful and delicious. Prices were very reasonable. The ambiance was low lighting quiet and peaceful. The inside was very clean and the restroom was as well. Definitely 5 stars for us. Thanks for your hospitality we enjoyed our visit.

This place has the most calmest most welcoming vibe just upon entering it. I'm not a fan of bright overhead lighting and this place had that nice ambiance with low lighting. The owner is absolutely amazing and can tell that he truly cares about the dishes he makes and the people he serves. Which warmed my heart to see someone function out of love and not rushing to make a buck. The food was absolutely amazing even my 9 year old loved it! We all tried each others food and man I got the waffles and chicken and it was so dang good! I had never tried a waffle that was cornbread topped with queso! But holy moly it was stellar! The phish tacos were amazing and that sauce ontop of it completed the dish. But that pozole?! Ommgggg I don't eat pozole bc it just weirds me out but this one. WOW. I will definitely be going back just for that dish! This place truly was amazing. Clean healthy food made and served with love? Couldn't ask for a better place

While visiting family, my 13 year old and I needed a lunch before heading to the airport. My kiddo found Hash after searching and we headed straight for it. At first, we weren't sure where to park because there is no obvious parking. There is a shop next door with a parking lot that you can use. We ended up parking on the street because we didn't want to get towed. The owner confirmed that you can use a lot though. Now for the food- holy heck that was amazing and I wish we lived close by. The prices are incredible and the food even better. We were met with the kindest welcome I've ever received at a restaurant and the owner was super helpful with descriptions so we could decide what to order. We shared the waffle breakfast stack, carne guisada tacos & a side of elote. Kiddo got the iced lavender matcha latte. The waffle was the perfect texture and full of flavor. The guisada tacos were so incredibly delicious I seriously considered ordering more and trying to get them home in my suitcase. I will be dreaming about those tacos for a long time. It's such a relief to be able to order food knowing it's safe. Kiddo and I are vegetarian, but one can't eat dairy and the other can't eat eggs, so vegan is our default. We've never been able to order elotes anywhere, and theirs are so delicious. Kiddo proclaimed their matcha the best they've ever had. We landed in Seattle after midnight (after 2 AM by the Texas time we were used to) and the first thing kiddo told their dad about was Hash Anytime we are visiting family down there, Hash will be on our must do list. I also greatly appreciate their mission and devotion to the recovery community and their goodness towards humans in general with their free store.

Delicious vegan food, outstanding mocktails, and friendly service! Love their relaxed vibe, too. Will definitely be making this place a regular visit.

Wow, I never thought I would say this but the vegan pozole was amazing! My husband who had never tried vegan food, said he would definitely return and try other food. The Frito pie was also very comforting and hearty. Definitely support this business. They have free water outside for the community and a vegan food pantry inside.

Visited today with my daughter and granddaughter!! The restaurant is amazing! The decor was clean, cozy and inviting. The owner was very friendly and welcoming! The food was delicious and served quickly! You must give it a try!! Thanks again for great service, food and an awesome meal!

Hash Vegan Eatery Changed My View on Vegan Living In March, I was on a special fast for the Lord Jesus Christ while my wife decided to do the Daniel Fast. That meant no sugar, only authentic, organic vegetables, fruits, and water. As a lifelong meat eater (steaks and all), I thought it would be tough -- but restaurants like Hash Vegan Eatery made it not just possible, but enjoyable. The food here is fresh, flavorful, and prepared with love. Every dish felt authentic, healthy, and creative. What I loved most is that Hash showed me vegan food isn't bland or restrictive -- it's exciting and satisfying. Because of this place, I no longer see "vegan" as a cuss word or something to avoid. Instead, I see it as a healthy, sustainable way of life that I can embrace without giving up good flavor. The service is warm and professional, the ambiance is welcoming, and the Southside location feels like a true neighborhood gem. This is more than a restaurant -- it's a space where health, community, and culture come together. I may not be 100% vegan forever, but thanks to Hash and others like it, I proudly call myself a vegan artist -- someone who can embrace plant-based living with joy. This is Dr. Sully with DrSullySpeaks, and I'm grateful to have a place like this in my community. --vegan restaurant San Antonio, best vegan food Southside San Antonio, plant-based meals San Antonio, Hash Vegan Eatery reviews, healthy vegan dining San Antonio #HashVeganEatery #SanAntonioVegan #SouthsideEats #VeganLife #HealthyLiving #PlantBasedSanAntonio #DrSullySpeaks #AnchoredSA #SanAntonioCommunityChurch #FaithAndCommunity #AnchoredTogether

Hash has it all: great ambiance, including a bevy of board games; friendly staff; and delicious vegan food. I got the frito pie and elote, and loved them both. I definitely will come back again!

Wow is the best way to describe our amazing experience here! We went in the evening and it was dark and looked a bit sketchy lol so we were like wait! We walked in, it was dark and one person was dining. It was a Friday night so we were like, they have great reviews but... So we didn't want to go somewhere else, it was getting late and we hadn't eaten all day. The cashier/waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and after talking with her, she gave a few recommendations. She was super cool. We got the fish tacos, chili cheeze bowl and bbq bowl. The food was SO GOOD! AMAZING flavors!!! We loved the food! Yummy!!! We will definitely return!

They have so many cool events and pop up markets with local live music. This place is all about alcohol sobriety. If you have any alcoholic beverages you will be asked to leave. However they do have delta 8 and 9 beverages along with cbd drinks. Very hemp forward." Inside is a coffee shop porter's.

The food is amazing! The owners are friendly and active in the community. They have created a welcoming, community space.

The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.

Every dish feels thoughtfully curated with tried-and-true recipes rooted in Chef Luca and his family's Northern Italian traditions. This is the kind of place where quality takes priority over quantity. Our server, Gary, was fantastic. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about Italian food and wine. His recommendations were spot-on and his enthusiasm felt so genuine. We started with a bread basket accompanied by a little sampling of tapenade, which was savory, briny, and a perfect complement to the warm bread. Came in with a group of four, we kicked things off with the burrata starter--a surprisingly fun and shareable adventure of baked burrata, fresh crostini, roasted cauliflower, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and basil cream. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked beautifully together. For our entrées, we ordered the Tartufo, Cinghiale, Bolognese, and Carbonara. And let me just say, the Tartufo was a full-on dinner performance. Gary brought out steaming hot tagliatelle pasta and tossed it tableside inside a giant wheel of Parmesan. He then topped it with crab meat in brown butter before finishing it with a generous shaving of truffle. Every bite was like a perfectly timed symphony of flavors--rich, savory, buttery, and earthy, with nothing outshining the other. I'd put this dish up against anyone's nonna. I sampled the other three entrées as well, and every one was delicious. The gnocchi in the Cinghiale is an absolute must-try--pillowy, texturally delightful, and packed with flavor. Thank you, Nonna Osteria, for such an epic culinary experience. And a special shoutout to Gary for guiding us through the menu and making an already great dinner even better.

I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!
