Unbelievable. 205 am and sick kids and parents are leaving after 6 plus hours waiting. Absolutely shameful. 3rd world healthcare is what you can expect. read more

I can't say enough good things about this hospital. Everyone is super nice and accommodating. At a time when your child is in pain, a little kindness goes a long way. The staff here is helpful and attentive and they know you're going through a rough time, so they give you your space and just try to make you as comfortable as possible. I wish I could thank everyone who made our stay as pleasant as possible, the nurses, residents, surgeons, etc... read more

I have always loved Hasbro. Sadly, we have had to spend too much time there with a sick little one. Tonight, we had the unfortunate experience of being treated at Fatima. I am still shaking and unable to sleep because of her treatment there. For those who feel that Hasbro deserves anything less than five stars, please don't think that the empty ER at other hospitals is a plus. Hasbro is busy for a reason! They are THE BEST!!! read more

The folks here are simply amazing....medically and emotionally...for the parents and the kids. Everyone here cares and provides quality care - the doctors, the nurses, the aides even the cleaning staff. They all make every stay more bearable. Thank you. read more

The nurses were great to my 2 year old who was transferred and admitted there over night. They never missed a beat and kept him happy and feeling at home. We saw a few doctors in the ER but were told we won't know anything until we are admitted. We spoke with pediatrics doctor on call and he informed us we had to wait for NEURO. The neuro doctor NEVER made it to us but did answer a call I was told to give his direction. BUT that wasn't our problem.... the only thing that concerned me there was that our room smelt like car exhaust. Everyone said it's normal and filtered but still in a hospital setting it should NEVER smell like that in your patients rooms. There needs to be something done about the ventilation system due to the smell it brings in the hospital. It's very nerve racking and unwelcoming. read more

I was home with a terrible fever and strep throat I went in at 11 and waited in the waiting room till 1:30 and finally when I thought they were gonna help me they put a swab down my throat to check they said the results were negative and sent me home. For 2 whole nights I couldn't sleep I have to look at another option I went to a local treatment center where they looked at me and instantly noticed the white bumps and how swollen my throat was and got treat immediately. I'm truly disappointed considering I've been there before for a burn on my whole thigh and once again waited multiple hours. read more

2.5 hours in the ER for a head cold because my wife worries. We could have been done in 5 minutes and they could move on to the people that really need the ER. read more

I really have to say I'm truly disappointed.. I took my 5mo daughter to the ER because she had a high temp and a very bad cough. I got there at 4am waited till 545am to be taken to the back and didn't leave there till 850am. When I checked in at the triage the women was rude and made me feel like I came for a ridiculous reason "the common cold" since my daughters temp was high but not anything crazy and because she was smiling here and there. I just tried to brush it off and reassure her that I would rather be safe then sorry and I would just feel better knowing everything was okay. When I was taken to the back it took about 30 minutes just for my daughter to be checked on I then waited another 45 to an hour just for the doctor to come look at her. In that time yes, it was a bit busy but people who came after me for the same problem were leaving first and not only that but a good amount of nurses were just standing around gossiping about the patients and how their weekend went! I was furious! Finally when the doctor came he was very sweet and did a great job explaining to me that she was okay and I did the right thing by bringing her in. The doctor leaves saying I can be discharged and then as I wait again another 20 or so minutes a nurse comes to do my daughters vitals she still had a high temp so she said she'd come back around and then I could be discharged well the nurse was no where to be found and I was sitting there forever. The doctor was on the computer talking and laughing and the nurse who was supposed to check on my daughter was taking her time sitting down chatting and was not very friendly. If I didn't tell her my daughter was running out of formula I'm sure I would have been sitting there for another hour. I understand the ER is time consuming everywhere but it shouldn't be because patients are put last social time should be after work is done and patients are cared for! read more

This is the worst hospital everrrr they will have you waiting no matter how serious your child condition is it's so sad and sick they will have like 5 nurses come in with those damn rn students just to say the same thing the nurse at the triage said you wait 5 hours to get call then you wait 2 hours for a doctor I hate the staff this hospital need to do better all the nurses and doctors do is sit around and laugh and chat my child have trouble breathing they said they would give her a treatment for it they had us waiting 2 hours my child kept saying her chest hurt I literally was in tears cause no one would come in and help her once I said I was gonna report them then they wanna come in and it still took a extra hour read more

Going to the ER is always a dreaded experience, but when my son fell and broke his thumb I expected there to be extremely long wait times. I couldn't be more wrong. We arrived around 8pm were quickly triaged, then we registered, went to imaging, were given a room, saw a nurse, then a doctor, then we were discharged with a total of only maybe 5 minutes wait time between the nurse and doctor. We were in the car and on our way home at 9:30pm! I was soooo impressed. The bedside was excellent, all the nurses were very nice and friendly. The imaging technician was very friendly help ease my son's nerves about imaging and then showed him the images! So cool! The doctor was friendly, informative and efficient. I really, really liked my experience and visit to Hasbro. On my way out I was looking for the machine to pay for parking and the janitor helped me to get my ticket validated even. Hands down best emergency room visit I've ever had. read more

If you take your child to the ER here, do not allow your child to be seen by a doctor from Alpert Medical School. Lifespan itself will only send you an emergency room bill for a standard $100; University Emergency Medical Foundation (which handles the billing for Brown/Alpert) will charge you $1000+ on top of that. Your first warning of this will be the bill. read more

Talk about the best hospital around! We feel so extremely blessed to live so close to this amazing childrens hospital!! We took our 16 month old son there thanksgiving night after seeing he had a temperature of 104. It was our first emergency trip for him so it was stressful to say the least. We had given him infant motrin before we left and put cold cloths on him to try to get his temperature down. When we arrived as i was giving the front desk his info the cna took him and my husband right back to check his vitals. After that we went to do the registration process and as soon as we finished someone came to bring us back to the room. An unbelievably awesome nurse (wish i remembered her name!!) got juice and toys for Brody while we were waiting. She was super friendly and accomodating! We were waiting for a lil while and our son seemed to be feeling better so we were thinking maybe we overreacted and didnt really need to be there. We told our concern to the awesome nurse and she checked his vitals and checked to see how much longer the doctor would be. She said fifteen minutes so we waited. It ended up being longer but when the doc arrived she was sooooo worth the wait!! Our son was getting overtired and irritable on top of not feeling well but that didnt bother Dr. Deirdre Phearon (sp??) We have never seen anything like it!! She put Brody at ease, played with him while checking him out, she even cleaned out his ear so she could get a better look!! She wasnt dismisive at all and assured us that such a high fever was not just teething (as we were starting to think). She checked him for rashes. She told us he had a stomach virus and told us what we needed to do for him. She got bubbles and blew them for him to get him to smile before we left. And then she even walked us out to our car and got our keys from valet! (There was somethin goin on in the front so she walked us through the back). When do you ever have a doctor walk you to your car!?!?! She was so down to earth, thorough and kind!! We are so grateful for dr. Phearon and hasbro childrens hospital! Highly reccomend!!! read more

The Hasbro Children's Hospital ER is the worst place you can bring a sick child. Many pediatricians tell parents to take their children there and the parents face the nightmare of 5-7 hours of waiting in a dirty waiting room where their children will pick up every germ imaginable. I went with a family member to Hasbro with a two year old. The doctor had told the Mom to take the child to Hasbro. Seven hours later we left and went to Kent hospital, never having seen anyone at Hasbro. This has happened twice before. Other hospitals have addressed their ER problems. It is time Hasbro did the same. A good cleaning should also be high on their to do list. I suggest that the parent tell their doctor that they will only go to Hasbro if the doctor is on the way and will see the child there immediately. read more

We took our 3 year old here in November since she had 105 fever for 3 days and occasional vomiting. Our pediatrician advised to since it was early and the office wasn't open. We had a horrible experience and hope we never have to come back. We were the only ones there and the check in person was rolling her eyes saying 'ai ai ai' overtime our daughter cried. We finally get called in (again nobody else waiting) and see 2 different nurses then a Dr. He thinks it's a UTI and needs her to pee in a cup. He didn't even check for flu and said no ear infection. We knew it wasn't a UTI but we got her to go in a cup thankfully. Otherwise he said they have to do a catheter and it could take hours. Anyways, we get out of there with no resolution. The next day she is still sick with 105 fever so we go to our pediatrician. She has a severe ear infection. Said it could have developed overnight but it was pretty bad that it should have shown at the ER. To top it all off, we get an ER bill of $1000. read more

I will be short!! They need Doctors with experience...Too many student/resident doctors that I am sorry but do not know what they are doing!! I can not believe the lack of compassion they had for my son and I last night!! They are under staffed and the staff is not very professional..Talking about there drinking binges and parties from the weekend right outside our door!! ( I have experienced this on 2 separate occasions) They do not listen to the Mothers/Fathers who usually know best and want the best for their child!! I had a resident actually tell me that no matter what they do for him there, My son would still be a BURDEN when we got home? Really I am so upset and hope this never happens to anyone else!! I did not give many detail I know but that is beside the point..Hope this may help anyone out!!! read more

My son was having breathing issues and his primary suggested this ER because we are new to the state. He has since been back there nightly for a week due to the same breathing issue. Plus side the nurses are very nice and helpful. Now the negatives... The multiple doctors who have seen my child have ran no tests no xrays. He has been discharged multiple times to only come back that night with the same issue. The doctor that is with him told said the amoxi he is on for strep last week is "poison" Also that his breath is is probably acid reflux. They have now shoved a camera up his nose and down his throat to rule that out and no surprise no reflux.... I am very disappointed at the care that is given to children that visit here. I am originally from MA and I feel I let my child down by bringing him somewhere that substandard care is given. I hope you change your ways as a hospital cause it looks like people would rather drive a hour+ to Boston to get proper care for their children. Last note is a child with chronic issues that is a repeat patient still has to wait hours in a waiting room blows my mind. I know medicine is not black and white and everything is not textbook but the lack of testing or answers after a week of multiple doctors does not make your hospital look good. Sorry from a very disappointed client. Lastly the 1 star i gave was for the kind nurses THEY provide great care. read more
