Last Saturday, after taking in a movie, I needed to run an errand at Shoppers Drug Mart. I headed over to the closest one that I knew of in the area and parked. As I was about walk over to the drugstore, I saw an ad for Harvey's. I could get two hamburgers for $8. My first question: Where's Harvey's? I am obviously a non-resident of Richmond Hill. I looked over to my right. Harvey's was to the right of the drugstore, next to Subway. I don't frequent this plaza often. It was cool to see a standalone Harvey's. It felt rare to me. It wasn't a combo store with Swiss Chalet. It had no drive-thru. It was a pleasant change. I hadn't had lunch. It was the perfect place to grab a bite to eat. After I was done at Shoppers Drug Mart, I placed my items in my car and headed over to Harvey's. It's a spacious eatery. I liked it. There was a bit of a lineup to place an order. There were two older folks ahead of me. I liked how patient and kind the man at the cashier was with them. He answered all their questions. He was also so patient seeing the man count all his change before handing it over. This man at the order area was equally as nice to me. I took advantage of this $8 deal, getting one beef burger and one veggie burger. I also got a medium Diet Pepsi. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I then waited patiently for the burgers to be ready for their toppings. I had a woman help with them. I got lettuce, tomato and cucumber slices, garlic mayo, and relish on the first burger. I also wanted the same ingredients on the second burger and she remembered everything. I appreciated her memory recall. I thanked her for her help and wished her a great day. I saw a smile on her face. She seemed happy that I said a bit more than thanks. She reciprocated. I sat down at a table closest to the wall. I was facing the window. I then chowed down. Both burgers were so good. Harvey's does make a beautiful thing when it comes to burgers. The beef and veggie patties were charbroiled perfectly. The beef was yummy, along with the toppings. I like the veggie burger at Harvey's. It's a good veggie patty that doesn't taste like cardboard. It's done well that both vegans and carnivores alike crave it because it's genuinely delicious. My Diet Pepsi was cold and yummy. It hit the spot while helping to wash everything down. This eatery was clean and inviting. There was a TV showing CP24. I wasn't facing it while I dined in. I liked seeing cars go by outside. I'm glad that I stopped by to grab a bite to eat. It was a great find. I look forward to returning when I'm in the area. (48) read more

This Harvey's is nice and quiet but also very spacious. The staff are super friendly and efficient. There's also ample parking in the plaza as it's in the plaza across from Silver City (same plaza as Milestones). So back in the 90's, I used to frequent the very first, ORIGINAL Harvey's location at Yonge and Observatory Lane. That was when Harvey's was at its peak so to speak. I would order a burger, onion rings and get some Church's chicken too (which is super underrated btw). Anyways, somewhere around 2010, Cara Operations (the parent company of Harvey's) started tampering w/ the burger patty recipe because it tasted VERY different. Almost as if there was soy protein added or something. Fast forward, to 2013 to 2014-ish the angus burger was unveiled and after trying that I've never looked back. A lot of ppl (including my parents) tell me they can't taste the difference between the classic burger and the angus. But it's very apparent. The angus burger meat is WAY beefier, WAY juicier and doesn't have that "soy" aftertaste to it. Whenever I see an angus meal deal pop up on my Flipp mobile app, I'm usually jumping on it because at this location the service is great (no attitude given if I want to overload my burger w/ toppings and sauce) and the food is prepared well (fries and onion rings are always crispy). I do agree w/ fellow reviewer, Brenda H though. It's a shame they are partnered w/ PepsiCo. The only pepsi product I actually like is Mountain Dew (specific flavours only too). Brisk iced tea is better than Nestea but I pick it only because pepsi-zero is nasty (coke-zero is the GOAT). P.S. some of this resto's early reviews mentioned a grumpy, old lady at the register. Management/ownership must've changed because the last couple of times I came it was new staff. read more

Burgers grilled fresh to order, toppings of your choice, went with the Harvey sauce Burgers had nice grilled crusty edges. Toppings were fresh. Harvey's known for their pickle toppings, instead of the sliced round pieces you normal receive on a burger, you get 2 large horizontally slices neatly placed cross wise on your burger. Meat, bun, toppings ratio just perfect. Fries, onion rings were also freshly made, nice compliment to your burgers. No unlimited soft serve drink fountains though. I'm here quite often for the veggie burger. I'm updating this review to 5 stars now that they have added Light Life burgers into their menu. First off. Harvey's is one of the few places that flame grill their vegan patties fresh as you order them. Giving it an authentic BBQ taste instead of the straight out of the microwave taste. Second, you're in full control of what toppings goes on your burger. I'm getting tired of A&W and Tim's trying to shove their mayo and cheese down my throat! Dairy and eggs aren't plants! They don't belong on a plant based burger! I shouldn't have to make a custom order everytime I order one! What's wrong with Ketchup & mustard? Ok I'm done ranting. However some of the staff that work with the food touch the food barehanded after working with money, touching their phones and headphones, ETC. which is disgusting. if you wanna eat here pay attention to see if the staff wear plastic gloves when touching buns or meat. read more

This is our day to day hangout for a "quick fix" of shareable Poutine and a burger. Make sure you come out with your combo coupons for a deal as opposed to paying full value. Also, you will be able to collect an additional few scene points ( literally, a few) at the cash and you'll get a print out with your cumulative points to date. It is always interesting to see a staff of 5 behind the counter with barely anyone there at the time we came in today. This may either show a commitment to good service levels or the scheduler needs to improve the software to avoid hemorrhaging costs. read more

I haven't stepped into a Harvey's in a while and even though Harvey's is technically a fast food restaurant (which I don't usually post about), I think this juicy hamburger warrants a post from me. We ordered the Original Harvey's burger combo and an extra Original Burger for me. I remember advertisements in the past where Harvey's boasted the fact that they have all their burgers customizable and you can add whatever toppings you want on top of the burger. I discovered today that Harvey's not only makes your hamburger a beautiful thing but the fish sandwich was also beautiful. It is possible to order fairly healthy food here with toppings like lettuce, tomato and cucumber on a multigrain bun and a salad side order. Okay, full disclosure: I chose the onion rings instead of the salad because they are so good! The cashier and person who prepared my sandwich with my chosen toppings were both friendly. The meal deal coupons that come in the mail every few months allow me to get the meal for only $5.99 including a side order and drink. So I love this place - fresh, tasty, reasonably priced fast food. Too bad they don't offer Coke Zero instead of Pepsi products. read more

I walked in here with my husband and the first thing I asked the cashier lady if she has gluten free buns or lettuce wraps and she said only multigrain or white. She looked like she didn't understand me and my husband asked her the same question and she gave him an attitude. Another thing I noticed was that the girl at the grill was using her BARE HANDS to move the burgers aside and NO GLOVES. In addition to, the guy who was serving us was was flirting with the grill girl and was really SLOW with our order. Also, why were our onion rings so thin? Does it kill a person to add thicker onions. The cleanliness of this place was filthy, no one cleans this place. Also the trash bins were overflowing! The food, for the most part, was made as per Harvey's standards but took longer than expected esp since the place was 80% empty. The server told me that they don't give Scene points with coupon promo's which was false and a first ever in my experience. I later had Scene credit my account. This location also had no clue what wet wipes/wet napkins were, another first in all my experiences with Harvey's. In light of the above deficiencies, I would skip this location in the future. read more

This is not review of Harvey's and the quality of the food. The warning is about an old lady who is apparently manger and working at this restaurant. I visited this place couple of days ago and ordered food with my son. The lady who was at cashier was pretending that doesn't understand me and I thought her English is not good and just finished the order and after that I asked her to add one more tray for us and she was staring at me again and was not reacting or talking. I thought she didn't understand, start spelling the word "tray" then she exploded suddenly by yelling at me and calling me mean. I was so shocked from her unexpected rude and mean reactions and just told her "apparently you're very mean". This caused her to start yelling more and raising her voice, manipulating the conversation telling me that she is going to call security. I've noticed that she has personality disorder with anger issues and stop talking to her. A gentlemen in the line told me "why you let her yell at you" and I told him that looks like she has mental problems and I'm going to follow with Harvey's Head Office and they will take care of her. I called Harvey's customer feedback center 416-940-5622 and told them my concern about that old lady who is manager at this branch and destroying their business. The person at the line told me that they will look at it and will get back to me. I'm still waiting for them to call me back and see their corrective action about her. read more
