I came by to check out the coffee from this local shop because of all the great reviews on Yelp. The small shop is located in a building immediately next to Bardot. Super cute spot. The gal behind the counter was already helping another customer but quickly transitioned to assisting me. She looked alone in tending to the shop but it wasn't very busy so it seemed to be ok. She was friendly and nice. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. This is my typical go to drink. Their coffee tasted a little bitter and the drink wasn't as creamy as I would have liked. Absolutely nothing wrong with this coffee shop but with others like Iron and Kin nearby, it's hard for me to give it more than an average rating. I'd be willing to come back and try other drinks.

Matcha Rocky

Matcha girl here I'll try them anywhere was in this area and found this on yelp so I decided to try it they close at 3. Don't miss it either it hidden right off the corner next door the Bardot. They don't have the shoe anymore hanging outside. Don't miss the sign in the sidewalk. Frank was my barista I believe he may have been the owner. He even game me a little history and tutorial on making the matcha mixed it right in front of me.. Matcha was solid full flavor earthy soft creamy. When in the neighbor hood definitely come back. I had iced almond milk with vanilla vanilla was not sweet at all very good. They also sell a small can of matcha maybe for 10 servings. Rocky brand. They also do coffee. They have there regulars everyone knows your name very personable. They don't have sugar fee either. Support this small business..

It was meh. I was expecting more honestly. It's definitely a grab and go coffee stop, as seating is extremely limited. I got an iced cappuccino which was mediocre. I also got an iced vanilla latte which was pretty good, and an iced matcha latte sweetened which was pretty good. I think the best out of the three was the matcha. They sell Rocky's matcha tins! Service was fine. Felt like a lackluster experience and most likely won't return soon.

My friend was raving for us to go for the past couple of weeks because she saw it on social media and we finally went. This matcha is probably the best quality I've ever had. Look how green it is. the order came out so fast. Two people who greeted us were super kind and chill! Can't wait to come back. They also have really nice clothing that is actually amazing quality. This place does not skimp out on quality. Who needs places like Starbucks when you can just go here! The location is tucked away so you have to look past the restaurant in between the boutique to find it!

Iced Honey Latte

I ordered an Iced Honey Latte which was a little small for the price but still very delicious. It didn't taste too sweet and hit the spot. Cool place!

The drinks: full-bodied and so good! It's an unassuming little spot with a small menu, but boy do they make some good coffee. I asked for light (easy) ice and felt like the portion and price was right. We shared a cardamom pastry that complimented the coffee perfectly. When I go back, I'm ordering the exact same thing. In my own wise words: "No need to switch it up when you find what works."

Americano
Jonathon G.

Stopped by to try their matcha latte and an americano. Both were actually pretty good. The matcha latte is on the smaller side for the cup, but I ordered it light on the vanilla syrup and it still had great flavor. The americano was solid as well smooth and easy to drink. Overall, a nice spot if you're craving matcha or coffee.

Stumbled upon this shop (next to Bardot) while walking around Claremont. It's a clothing store/coffee shop that is currently under reconstruction so they have a little temp location. Got two oat milk lattes and it was GOOD - probably one of the best I've tried in a while. We also noticed a rack of clothing and loved the material of the crew neck and hoodie. Excited for the actual store to be finished! Until then, would come back for lattes here in the meantime!

I absolutely adore Harvard & Yale; however, on the weekends they may need a second person. One barista is causing long lines & time waits.

Love this little coffee shop best cortado! Nicest people ... fast and friendly customer service and great prices! Love supporting local businesses

Even though their current spot is a temporary location, it was easy to find with the sign outside. I went during an early morning weekday, the line was short and the girls making the coffee had a good flow on making the drinks. Ordered their vanilla latte, the coffee was smooth and pulled through with the right amount of sweetness. Enjoyed and savored every sip, I'll be back to grab their matcha asap! Can't wait to see the shop once renovations are done :).

Matcha the perfect shade of green!

I really enjoyed how low key but delicious this coffee spot was! Nothing extravagant, just simple and done well. The matcha was perfect, not too sweet or milky. There was surprisingly no line when we came. It's a bit hidden next to Bardot but is so good!

It isn't the best I've ever had, but I'd say it's the best I've tried in Claremont. However, the wait times can be pretty ridiculous... I just stopped by at 9:30am today, and it took me about 30 minutes to get my drink and find a place to sit. Also, there is very limited seating. My biggest issue, though, is the hospitality. Unfortunately, I've had multiple experiences where the baristas come across as dismissive and noticeably less friendly towards me. I've also noticed what feels like a pattern of differential treatment toward Asian customers. (As an Asian customer myself.) I've seen baristas casually chatting with white customers in front of and behind me, only for their demeanor to change when interacting with me. I can't speak to their intentions, but having experienced this more than once over the past two years, it's something I've found difficult to ignore. Their drinks are good enough to keep me coming back, but the long waits and inconsistent hospitality take away from the experience.

The shop is big and was full of people hanging out or working when I arrived, so no seats were available. It was also like a library, so quiet, no background music playing. It would've been a better vibe if there was some kind of music, it felt kind of weird to be in a coffee shop with no noise. I decided on the hot Caramel Turtle Latte because it sounded different and I've never tried a latte flavor like that before. Their pastries are brought in from a local bakery and looked yummy so I had to have a chocolate croissant too. While I waited I looked around and saw that they have coffees beans for sale, where they donate $1 per bag to the local charity that is listed on the coffee bag: Ability First, Inland Valley Hope, and The Joseph Project. I love that they support the local community! My latte was so good, and while my croissant was pretty good, I didn't like that it was warmed up in the microwave. It made what looked like a crispy croissant soft, flat, and soggy. I wish they could've baked it in a toaster oven or something so that it comes out flaky.

There are a few different seating options (communal table, couch, smaller tables, on the stage...and more) and it is a great place to socialize, work, or just relax. The tea steeps in hot soy milk and is flavored with honey and cinnamon. Drinking it truly feels like "a bowl of soul". It's great on a cold or rainy day and it always lightens my mood. Highly recommend! In the summer, I really like the get the "make your own smoothie". It is especially good with granola and honey! Tastes like a blended fruit bowl! It's amazing. Almond Haus was a no-brainer. Not only did they provide full-service catering, but their boba milk teas were legitimately some of the best we've ever had. It's not awful, but it tastes frugal. I arrived at Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) on Sunday (around 12:20PM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. My immediate impression of the location's interior is "abandoned warehouse." There's cardboard boxes lying about; the lights are dim & gloomy; and the furniture & walls looked old and poorly maintained. There were no customers, other than myself. Staff zipped out from the back when I'd entered. There's no self-service kiosks, so customers order at the counter. Staff is friendly and welcoming. After receiving my drink, Staff vanished into the back for the entire time. The drink took one minute and six seconds. Fast!! As mentioned, the Brown Sugar Milk Tea ($5.50) with Boba (additional 79 cents) is not awful. It's big, cheap, and thirst-quenching. Although the boba lacked any perkiness, I did appreciate its very small sweetness. Concerning the ambiance, it felt sad. Chairs had mysterious black stains, dust & webs gripped the windows' corners, yellow & aged plants lazed about, and lights stayed dimly lit like a haunted house. However, there's utility. Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) has six electrical outlets. There's also customer internet with password; details on the plastic countertop. And there's a restroom for customers. In addition, the floors and tables are fairly clean. Overall, Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) feels like a forgotten relic of time. At the very minimum, it's an adequate establishment.
